  1. Our favorite beaches were Jalousie Bay in St. Lucia. AMAZING being between the pitons. We went there as part of a day tour. Our second favorite was the Boatyard in Barbados but that beach is quite lively with tons of fun activities and music. You'll see most of the crew there. And in St Thomas our favorite is Megan's Bay. It's a beautiful beach. We found the beaches in St Maarten and St. Kitts to be ok, nice, but not as great as the ones above. Have fun on your cruise!

  2. If you have used it on the Breeze, What did you think of it? Worth it? I read somewhere that it costs $99. Does that provide unlimited wifi for the entire cruise? For things like email, face book and texts? What about communicating with friends on the ship? Is that part of the app? Sounds like a great app so please share your experience with it.

  3. We did 2 Carnival cruises then one on Celebrity Equinox. While the Equinox was a beautiful ship we found it extremely boring. Shut down by 11:00 pm. We don't stay up super late but not that early. Day time was boring for us as well. Beautiful ship though but we are now booked for Carnival again and really looking forward to it. Preferred Carmival food as well but that can be subjective.

  4. We love Carnival because it really is the "fun" ship. The pax are unpretentious and friendly. The staff are upbeat and very friendly. Food is great, nightlife is awesome and the price is generally lower than other lines. Highly recommend them.

  5. My math calculates $3.85 per drink (including gratuity) if you hit the 15 drink limit per day. I wouldn't hit the limit but I like the feeling of knowing my bar bill before I even step foot on the ship. I also try drinks that I wouldn't otherwise try. To me it's worth it because the worry of a large bar bill is eliminated. I'm really grateful that they have this program.

  6. We had an Aft only once and didn't care for the motion. It certainly wouldn't call it horrible but I do recall waking up a couple of times and feeling the vibration. It wasn't huge but just enough to annoy me a bit. ( like the hiccups; they don't ruin your cruise but you wish they would go away. ). We probably wouldn't take an aft again...unless it was a sweet deal for us, and then I could put up with it. :)

  7. Thanks for the input. Riffatsea, we will most definitely be discussing as a group but it's nice to have the experiences/opinions of past cruisers to give us some insight. 2 of the couples have never cruised before so we want to be sure we have thought of everything before deciding. We don't want to be rushed, but also want to be sure we get a good rounded sampling of everything. We are a group of close friends that know we want to be together (from past vacations) but are also considerate of each others desires. Not a problem to compromise because, hey, you're on a ship so whatever the choice, it will be a barrel of fun. Just trying to fill that barrel of fun to the top! :D

  8. For the most part, we want to be together (for excursions, dinner and shows). It does seen that 7 is prime time for your time dining but from what I've read, the wait is only about 15 minutes which isn't too bad. Just wondering if we'd still have time to catch the show and comedy act after that? Is there somewhere that I can find out the times for these?

  9. We are sailing on the Breeze with a group of 8 and need help choosing our dining time. One couple in the group is hell bent on 6:00 dining. The rest are flexible. We enjoy the shows and also want to catch the comedy acts. The sail away times are 4:00, 5:00, 6:00 and 7:00 so I'm thinking Your Time Dining would be better. The 8:15 seating is definitely too late. I LOVE watching sail away and there-in is my dilemma...6:00 seating wouldn't afford us the time to see sail away. Nor would we catch any sunsets. If we chose Your time dining and went, for example at 7:00 on average each night, would we still be able to catch a show and a comedy act? Thoughts? Help!

  10. we are booked on the Breeze for Feb 2015 and got a $90 price drop this morning. 8 hours later I checked again and saw it was gone back up. This morning was the first time I checked because I also thought it was too far out for drops. I don't know what possessed me to check but I'm sure glad I did! I didn't realize people post when they get a drop. Makes sense though...guess I'll have to share the news next time. :)

  11. What are the demographics on the Getaway and how lively are the onboard activities? We are early 50s and have sailed twice on Carnival. Loved those. We did the Celebrity Equinox and although it is a beautiful ship we found it to be very boring. We are booked for an upcoming cruise on the Carnival Breeze but are contemplating the Getaway for our next booking. It looks like a beautiful ship.
