I’m going to await the renders of the Havana area and pool before passing too much judgment here. John Heald could be hyping things up a bit, but his comments so far are making it seem like it’ll be a well equipped area. Also, the Havana area will continue to follow the rules of the Havana areas on the Vista class ships in that it will be private for Havana guests up to a certain point in the evening..
Regarding the pool, If you look at the pool size aft on deck 8 (where it is on the Vita class ships), you’ll see that the pool in the Havana area is relatively similar in size - albeit minus the large “wading” area.
All in all, I’m optimistic that it’ll still be a nice and secluded sanctuary for all of us, just without a few of those lovely hot tubs.
I hope so too. My agent said that pool area aft on deck 8 is public... she told me the name of the area but I can't remember it now. Summertime or something kitschy like that LOL!!! But since its very very far from Lido maybe it won't get too crowded. Thanks for letting me know Havana will still be private during the day. It was the one spot where I could read outdoors and not have bunches of distractions coming at me from different directions. For me, that is worth the extra cost. Even Serenity gets a bit crazy crowded during the day on sea days.

I was trying to find out where the havana outdoor pool area is going to be... I see tha havana bar and havana cabana cabins but I dont see the out door area like on the Vista class ships. Is it going to be the one pool all the way in the back on deck 8? It seems out of place to and too far to be the havana pool area.
its is the tiny pool right outside the havana bar. Look for Pixels Gallery on 8 its right next to that. I booked havanna because I loved it on vista now I have concerns. Someone told me its not going to be private in the day??? Is that true... also where are the hotubs, only that tiny pool?

we always do late seating because you can relax and have good conversation and not feel rushed out for the next crew to come in and eat. But this time we took early seating so we can see more shows. We don't like show first then eat of late seating so a lot of times we just missed the show.

If the quality of beef is the same its no problem. Now if they have lowered quality then I will be upset.

In a word... yes, LOL. We went on the vista in Dec. My nieces and nephews with their spouses and children (my great nieces and nephews). We stayed on Havana and they stayed in family harbor. The youngest child was 14 months and the oldest 9. They couldn't stop ranting about how easy it made their lives. Someone was in there to help them set up all of the camp ocean stuff, there were games and tv games for the kids to play. But the thing I think they liked the most was the easy access to snacks, food, beverages. No running up to 10 for ice cream cones, that sort of thing. It was their first cruise now they dont want to go on another unless there is a family harbor LOL.

That would be nice!

no one has done a carnival live?

Have you ever done a Carnival live cruise? If so, here is my question.. we are booked on a Carnival Live Cruise in May that will have the ship docked in Nassau until 11 PM. My question is, for those of us that are not going to the concert, will they allow us to stay in Nassau longer or will we have to be back on the ship at the normal 5 - 5:30 PM time frame?
Also, if we have to be back on ship by 5ish but the ship is not leaving until 11PM due to the concert, will the casino / shops be open for passengers not going to the concert?
I would love to have the extra time at the Atlantis casino and maybe eat dinner there if they allow us to be off the ship later.

Does anyone know what the difference is between Pizzeria del Capitano and the regular Pizzeria is?
Yes there is a difference I was on the vista in Dec then the dream 3 weeks later so I noticed the difference. The new one is more like the pizza you get in Italy not quite but a close cousin with blobs of melt mozzarella light sauce etc. Also the crust is thin in the middle by thicker hand tossed on the rim

On the Vista, the regular pizza was served from the pizza section (Pirates?) aft lido and was 24 hours. Del Capitano was served out of the Cucina del Capitano and limited hours, plus some additional selections I think. Whether or not they use the same sauce and dough I can't tell you. Pizza Pirate was thin crust. Didn't try the Del Capitano.

If they don't get it use Facebook Messenger. We used it on the Dream, worked fine,

Just got off the Dream, they are sending her to be refurbished today. She will be out of commission for about two weeks. They said they are adding a Guys Burger, anyone no what else they will be doing?

Took me eight days to get my recent orders. The process is overly convoluted. You place an order, then a day or two later you get an e-mail that tells you to call and verify the order. They they ship them, signature required. So you have to be available to sign for them. Ridiculous. I can order a $500 item from amazon and it will be in my mailbox or on the porch two days later with none of this BS. I can order a $500 gift card on target and it will show up on the recipients phone five minutes later. The company doing this needs to get out of the dark ages.
I didn't have to do any of that so maybe the process has changed. I did the quizzes, placed my order and had them in 8 business days. They were in my mailbox.

Oh No!!! We are going in April and I really wanted to try the fish. My sister went and said it was the best fried fish she has ever had!
It was good in an Arthur Treachers vs Capt Ds sort of way but if you're from any coastal state where seafood is plentiful, cheap and good, you won't have missed out on anything.

Well I'll be darned, we will be... Hidey ho, neighbor.
I see your cruise is celebrating a 60th birthday "extravaganza." Ironically, this cruise is celebrating my wife's 50th.
I'm your neighbor too 5232 coming from Baton Rouge

We are booked on the 12-17-16 Vista sailing. We have 2 Havana Cabanas side by side with no interior access to each cabin. We are curious if any past Vista cruisers have noticed the wooden panel on these patio's opened to make one larger Lanai? This would also give us another easier access option to each cabin.
The divider looks similar in size to the cabin dividers we have requested to be open on past Carnival cruises so I am hopeful this may be an option as well.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
I'm on that cruise in a HC, we might be neighbors
