1. I did the "BOB"s or "Personal Subs" (all the same as the underwater scooter, just different names in different locations) in Cozumel and loved it! We only had 3 of us, though so it was a private excursion so to speak. We were underwater for about 30 minutes. Very fun, easy and I would do it again in a heartbeat!!

Awesome!! Thanks for the feedback!! :)

  2. I would love to get some input on this as well.

A few years ago, we used VIP limo (towncar) from airport to hotel and then cruise to airport and had great service. I can't remember exactly what we paid, but it was very reasonable at that time! There was only 4 of us then.

Our group is 12 total, so far only 4 of us are book on this 1 particular flight... so our number of passengers may change as others book their flights... so I'd like to review our options!!

And I'm always looking for the best price!! :)

  3. Think I found my answer...

  4. Anyone stay at Embassy Suites - Miami Airport?

I've stayed at ES in the past, just not this one... and like the complimentary reception & breakfast.

But, wondering about their free airport shuttle... and the cruise shuttle that comes with the cruise package deal.

    Any experience/thoughts would be appreciated.

  5. Would really like to know? This board is not suppose to be used for personal gain. Whats snelsonbrown getting from Michael? Executiveviplimo is not permitted to do business in Port Canaveral. Why would she recomend a comp. thats not permitted to do business in the port? How many of the past customers experienced this? Another company picking you up and transporting you to Michael off port property, i.e a hotel near the port? I think Ms. Brown is a little bias and must be getting a kick back from the companies she recomends. If you think this is a hoax, try looking at the Port web site to see if this company is there. To future customers look to see if his vehicle has a port canaveral sticker in the windshield and if the driver has a port license. So mMs Brown or whatever you go by? Why do you recomend this Michael over and over again for? Does Michael give you $ or is that you really recomend people without proper research?

I personally used the services of VIP Limo for our transportation pre and post cruise just last week. I already posted my experience with Mike's service in this thread. But I will repeat, IT WAS A PLEASURE having this company provide car service for my group!!!

And again, thank you Shirley for all you do to help others on this board when needing information and making arrangement in the Port Canaveral area! I would have been completely lost without your assistance!!

Also, please note that Shirley lists many other car service companies in post 295... I've never read where she specifically tried to steer anyone directly to VIP.

  6.
Any recommendations for a group of 9 shuttling from the airport to the radisson and then back to the airport after the cruise?

    Thanks
I would definitely recommend Mike at VIP Limo (his information is in post #295, plus you will find other recommendations in this thread for his service).

For our trip that we just returned from... he had quote me $150 for towncar or $240 for limo... that's roundtrip from Orlando airport to our hotel (in Cocoa Beach) and then back from the cruise port to the airport.

I haven't read where anyone has been disappointed with his service!!
  7. Just back from our Sensation cruise... and wanted to let everyone know about our SUPERB experience with Mike from VIP Limo!!!

I had booked Mike's towncar service for to drive us from the Orlando airport to our hotel in Cocoa Beach and then from the cruise port back to the airport at the end of our cruise.

When we met Mike at the airport, he greeted us in his STRETCH LIMO!! Apparently, his towncar was unavailable! His service was very nice and professional. He is very knowledgeble about the area and extremely helpful!

We will definitely use his services again when visiting the area!!

Thanks again for the great advise, Shirley!!
  8. I don't know who is sailing this weekend or this coming week, but you should go to post 295 and check out the weather so just in case you have to prepare for kinda of a wet week - Just a precaution for those "just in case" situations

HAPPY FRIDAY SO RISE AND SHINE ;-)

I've been watching weather.com for the last few days to see what the weather might be like when we arrive next Friday.... this morning I was finally a little happier with what I saw....

  9. Thank you Shirley for giving us the info. for Mike at executive vip limo. Mike picked us up from orlando airport and took us to a nice Italian restaurant for takeout to our hotel since it was pouring rain. He also took us to KSC and from the Freedom back to the airport. I now know why he comes highly recommened on this cruise critic. Very nice guy and very knowledgable about everything in the area. We were very pleased and will use him again and recommend him to all, 5 stars. thanks again Shirley

Great to hear!! I've had good experience dealing with Mike in planning our transportation... and I love hearing more & more good reviews about their service!!

  10. Shirley,

Could you tell me if the Cocoa Beach Trolley goes up to the FishLips/Grills area (forget what the name of that area is)? I've been looking all over, but can't tell for sure. On the little map I found, it shows that it goes to George King Blvd -- not sure if that is the road or not??? Or how close that might be to the restaurant there???

  11. I'm really having a lot of dilemmas, and I'm rethinking if booking a cruise out of Cape Canaveral is a good idea. I know I've made a few posts before, so please bear with me.

I can't seem to find the best place to stay without spending a fortune on transportation. If we stay in Orlando, we quite a ways from the Kennedy Space Center and the ship's terminal.

If we stay in Cape Canaveral, there is the expense of the airport to the hotel, then the hotel round trip to Kennedy Space Center, and then from the hotel to the terminal, and the terminal to the airport on return!

I've seen suggestions for renting a car, but there is still the issue of returning the rental prior to the cruise and getting to the terminal, and then we'd still need to get back from the terminal to the airport on return.

I'm so confused! I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars on transportation.

Executive VIP Limo (Mike) is very helpful and his rates are reasonable, but it's still going to cost us...

I hope you all can help me.

I do understand your dilemma! But if you haven't cruised out of Port Canaveral -- you don't know what you are missing -- I love this area, and I've only been there once!

When we cruised out of PC in April, we drove down, so didn't have the inconvenience of worrying about transportation from the airport. BUT, we loved the area for our 2 days pre-cruise so much so that for our September cruise (which we are flying down for)... we decided that we definitely wanted to Port Canaveral again.

Or first trip we stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral. -- got a great rate on PriceLine. For our next trip, we decided to stay in Cocoa Beach (just a couple miles south of PC) since we are now a little more familiar with the area from our first trip. We are using VIP Limo (town car) for the 4 of us... and it's $150, but split between 4 adults is a lot easier to take versus a family paying the whole amount (if that's your case). But I really think that is the only drawback of this cruise port.... and the positives of the area sure outway that one negative, in my opinion.

If you haven't already, I urge you to read up on how to work PriceLine and try that out to get the best hotel deal.

Good luck on your vacation planning!! This thread has been a wonderful resource to me!!

  12. That is very fair and I am sure very appreciated - have I ever told anyone how I met Michael?

He came into a place of business and needed purple cello for his lights since he had to take some kids to the prom and was going nuts looking for it - I happened to know where he could get it, got it for him and off he went, but before he left, I was so impressed not only of his niceness, but very polite and the lenght he went to make the prom kids feel like they were not only very special, but treated like kings and queens for he knew how important their last prom was and most important the most beautiful smile on his face and this is why I thought it would be nice to share him with the board.

We are always trying to make sure that our visitors have the best information to make their important decisions - AGAIN I always give choices and those that I have talked about are all just that YOUR DECISION AND YOUR CHOICES OK?

We just want everyone or anyone that comes here, feel safe and comfortable - no strings attached

I believe CC should always be commended for allowing this thread for they have been so instrumental in allowing this thread to continue and grow with so much imput from so many and that is even better

Blessings and may each have a bright smily day ;-))

Thanks for sharing, Shirley! Although we haven't actually used VIP yet... I have been very impressed with Michael's customer services thus far. He was very quick to respond to my initial email inquiry. And since then have had to make some changes due to our flights being reschedule... and he was very attentive to our needs. And even when I told him that we were debating renting a car for our pre-cruise transportation, he gave me a one-trip price for his car service for transportation back to the airport from the cruise port.

We have since decided to stick with his car service and explore Cocoa Beach pre-cruise without transportation. I will definitely be back to share my experiences after our cruise -- only 25 days away!!

  13. Shirley -- as I read your comment about Melody not being at 4Point... I thought I'd let you know about my experience with the new general manager... although I cannot remember his name.

Last week, when we had some issues with our airline (flight canceled, moved to day of cruise, had to call airline and move back another day)... anyway, we ended up having to extend our pre-cruise stay 1 extra day (which we are totally loving the idea now after getting all the logistics figured out)... I had gotten a great early-pre-purchase rate at 4 Points by Sheraton for 1 night pre-cruise... but now the current rates were no where close to that rate that I a couple months ago. I called and was told that the suite that I had was not even available for the night before.... was told that I would have to check into 1 room and check out and check into a different room for the 2nd night... or to call back & talk to the GM. I did that... and he switched my suite (I was in a handicap accessible room, don't know why & didn't even realize it til then) and added the 2nd night FOR THE SAME PRICE!!! He definitely did not have to do this for me... since I was already locked into this hotel since my 1 night was already pre-paid & non-refundable. But I definitely got the feeling that he was there to make the customers happy!! :D Just thought I'd share!!

We are really looking forward to 2 full days pre-cruise to spend in Cocoa Beach!!

  14. Shirley- I just wanted to thank you for pointing me in the direction of Mike and VIP Limo. He picked us up from the Freedom of the Seas on Sunday and was phenomenal. He called as we were walking through customs and it was an absolute breeze meeting up with him. I HIGHLY recommend him to everyone else!

Great to hear, Lauren! We have a reservation with him for our trip in September. I am a little concerned, as our return flight leaves at 12:15.

What time was your departure flight?

What time did you get off the ship?

    Did you do self-debark?

  15. We are spending 1 night precruise at Ron Jons Resort - what is the best way for a party of 7 to get from the Orlando airport to the resort and then from the resort to the cruise terminal without renting a car???

We are hiring a car service (staying at hotel in Cocoa Beach 2 nights pre-cruise). VIPLimosuine is charging us $150 roundtrip for 4 people. He also quoted me $240 roundtrip for a 10 passanger limo.... would love to go that route if we had more people to absorb the cost. Shirley has his information posted in this thread -- I think post 295.

We will have to take a taxi from the hotel to the cruise port... but we plan to walk everywhere else we want to go in Cocoa Beach.

  16. To anyone who has been, which do you prefer and why?

    Thanks.

We've only been to Fishlips... so I cannot compare it to the others... but I can say that we LOVED Fishlips! It's a cool atmosphere and we got there at the right time on the Sunday before our Monday cruise to watch 2 ships leaving port... it was so cool. Oh, and the food was good and the service was terrific!!

    Would definitely recommend!!

  17. Hi!

I posted this question on a new thread, but this thread seems to be where people who know stuff are.

We're going to be taking a cruise in August, and there are 6 of us. We live in Florida, so we have cars to drive to the port area. Unfortunately, none of us has a minivan, and renting one both ways would be more expensive than parking there.

I was considering getting a hotel room the previous night in order to take advantage of some of the park and cruise offers out there. Does anyone know - if I only take one hotel room, can I park multiple cars at these places that offer free parking?

    Thanks!

We had just about the opposite situation in April and stayed at the Country Inn & Suites in Cape Canaveral. We drove down (2 families) in our suv. We did 2 rooms... so I can't answer your questions about the extra vehicle. But they did charge the other family (mom & 2 kids) $5 per person for the shuttle ride. And since we booked on Priceline, instead of the "Park & Cruise" package, we had to pay an upfee of $20 to use the park & shuttle service. Maybe call & ask the Radisson and Residence Inn.
