Thank you Tara Jane. I didn't realize your could find volunteers in different areas. I wonder if this is only in Japan or in other countries? I will look into it and thank you for the suggestion of booking early.

Thank you. Your pictures are fantastic. We haven't decided if we want to attempt this on our own or use LocalTourGuides. July seems far away; but tomorrow is March!

Thank you. I know this ship is aimed at the Chinese tourist industry but we were hoping to maybe connect with someone who has perhaps organized a trip already. I can't get over all your posts. Again, thank you.

Would appreciate any information for visiting Kagoshima, Japan through any local guides you may have used or how best to see that city if you didn't want to use the cruise ship excursions. We will be on Spectrum of the Seas and will be in Kagoshima on July 26, 2019. We are only in port from 13:00 (1:00 PM) to 21:00 (9:00PM).

Japan Visa for Chinese citizens
in Ask a Cruise Question
Posted
Do Chinese citizens need a visa for Japan if arriving by cruise ship. I know if arriving by airline and visiting for an extended time a visa is required, but is one required if using a cruise ship and only being in a port city for approximately 8 to 12 hours. Spectrum of the Seas will be departing and returning from Shanghai for 5 days. Being fairly new to posting, I don't even know if Chinese citizens even are aware of Cruise Critic. I am hoping someone knows for sure the answer. Thank you all for your time.
