  1. We had a promenade cabin on our NYE cruise and we really liked it as well. We were on deck 8 kinda opposite guest services. very handy if we needed to go there, cause we could see how long the line was.:D

It was great for people watching and also seeing what was going on in the promenade. We had a great view of the balloons going up on NYE also

We have booked another promenade cabin again for this year, and this time we are on deck 6 opposite the pig and whistle. I think these cabins are great value also.

  2. We had the same on Celebrity Solstice. Premium package was a joke. Asked for Chivas Regal. Got none. Asked for any premium scotch or single malt. Got none. After much head scratching a bottle of standard Johnny Red was all he could find. Even the premium non-alcho package was a joke. Bought it for my 16yo. No mocktails to be found anywhere on ship and was flat out even getting a can of soft drink instead of post-mix. Even just finding a staffmember to serve a drink was difficult.

Obviously now the lines are regularly offering the packages, often free as a promotion, they are trying to minimise theie expenses. It would be interesting to see if there were two people who frequented a bar each night regularly, one with a prepaid package and one paying as they went, which one the staff would serve faster once they picked up on it.

We must have been really lucky on our NYE cruise, like Fiona said, we didn't have any trouble finding the drinks we liked. I drink scotch and always asked for Chivas, every bar had some. Maybe they stocked up a little more because it was NYE.

  3. Sorry if I gave the wrong information. I was sure that the 15% is added onto the price of the drinks (if you don't have a package). Just like the spa area, I know that for a fact as I used the spa area and whatever the prices were on the list, when you get your docket it clearly has 15% added on top of and I thought that that was with the drinks as well.. That's why the drink packages were better..

    My bad. :). Fiona

    Yes, you are right Fiona.

If you don't have a drinks package and you buy a drink 15% is added on to the menu price.

  4. Oh wow the kids (and maybe me too) will love the wave rider. Hope it does happen before our cruise.

    Thanks for the info.

The refurb is in Oct and takes 34 days, it will be all done by your cruise.

The refurbs are usually documented on utube. We are on the NYE cruise again this year, so we will be very interested in all the changes.

  5. We had a PR cabin on deck 8 opposite the service desk. We never had any issue with noise.

We have booked again for this year, this time a PR on deck 7 opposite the pig and whistle. We are not worried about any noise from the pub, because we plan on being there till it closes anyway...:D

  6. :D LOL, Love friends like that.... NOT!

    It didnt end there.

On the second last night, hubby and I went to bed and discovered a bed full of little brown rocks.

Curiously no one owned up to it...

I found out later that during the week there was a reverse version of shawshank redemption. They were collecting the little rocks from around the trees in the boardwalk.:D

  7. Does Voyager have the mystery dinner nights as well? How do we book and is there a cost? We are going in March.

    Thanks Trish

    Hi Trish,

Yes, the Voyager does have the mystery dinner. we have booked it for our NYE cruise.

Our cruise is 14 days, and there are 2 mystery dinners during the cruise.

You book it online. It costs around 57.00 pp. that includes the dinner at Portafinos and wine.

  8. Are you sure this is available for Aust cruises? Cos my pre-cruise planner for cruise in January 2014 does not have the options for the new or modified packages

    Hi Kizza,

Yes, it's fleet wide. The website probably hasn't been updated yet.

One significant change is that the packages now can be purchased individually.
