We are sailing on Sky Princess transatlantic in March 2024. Is it permitted for interested passengers to have a wine gathering in a public area using bottles brought aboard for personal consumption? I've seen this done on a Celebrity cruise earlier this year, where participants were asked to bring a bottle of wine from their local area to share with others. The ship provided glasses and cork screws and let us gather in one of the lounges (their version of Vines actually). It was great fun. Would something like this be allowed on Princess? Has anyone seen this done on a Princess ship? Thank you.

Why don't you just put the replacement cruise on hold and have them transfer the credit? They (PVPs & 1800Princess) can do it while you wait on the phone. This isn't March 2020.
Easier said than done for Princess, obviously. We did just that, booked a new cruise and asked them to apply the value of our FCC to the new one. It's been two weeks and we're still waiting. We even waited for hours on hold to talk to whatever the department is called that is supposed to expedite things, and they could not do it either. We called Princess today and they said essentially, they're still working on things-be patient! Amazing how easy it is to take our money, but it takes weeks to refund it after the cruise line itself canceled the cruise. Our new cruise is 5 weeks away now, but I refuse to give Princess another dime of my money to confirm this new booking when then have several thousand of my dollars! We are becoming more disenchanted with Princess by the day!

Anyone else get their refund or FCC processed? Still waiting for ours for the May 15 booking.

I was just thinking about the same thing. I wish there was some recognition of status among other Carnival Corp. cruise lines, or another company other than MSC. We're thinking of trying another line or two after our recent experiences with Princess' handling of the cancellation of all Baltic cruises this year.

Now, on the other hand, had $2250 paid on IAD-CPH-IAD. No help from Princess at all ... on my own to figure it out. Not so good.
Did you book those flights on your own? We did Princess EZAir, so hopefully we will not have difficulty getting that refunded.
By the way, we did book a Mediterranean cruise for May and Princess extended final payment until April 8. We're hoping the FCC comes through by then, because I really don't want to pay another dime to Princess at this point.

Unless Princess is giving like 125% in FCC
They most certainly are not! We heard that a refund could take up to 60 days! What if we want to book another cruise for early May (only 6 weeks away!)? We either have to just pay for the new cruise and wait for the refund or choose the FCC and wait until they get around to processing this. Very frustrating!

We're on the May 15 Baltic sailing. What alternate ports might realistically be added if St. Petersburg (and Tallinn) are dropped?

We were on this cruise, too. It was kind of eerie with so few passengers on board. I think we had other people in our elevator maybe 3x during the cruise, and we never had a problem finding a seat in the theater. We were happy not to feel crowded but wonder how much money Princess is losing currently! Our Medallion worked pretty flawlessly, apart for a bit of a slowdown in internet speed at the very end of the voyage for some reason. All staff abided by masking rules as did most passengers, which made us feel safe onboard. However, there were a few passengers I'd see walking the ship with masks down below their face, including one gentleman in particular, who I'd see around the ship frequently. I wish staff felt more empowered to remind passengers to wear masks properly. Overall, it was a great return to cruising.

I see that Vines has been replaced on the last 2 Royal Class ships with The Salty Dog Gastropub. Is there another location to buy wines by the glass or enjoy wine flights that Vines offers?

Yes you need to modify the booking.
It will not lower the price automatically.
To re fare, go into your EZ Air booking and hit the “modify flights” tab.
You can then search the flight and see if it does indeed have the lower available flight/price. If it does pick that flight and it will book the new flight/fare and automatically cancel your old one.If you do not see the new lower fare just back out and return to the personalizer.
Do not hit cancel flights!
In my experience once booked my price has never changed. I do not pay the air early either.
I've had great experiences with EZ Air; fares are generally much better than booking via the airline's website, especially on overseas and open jaw flights (flying to one city and from a different one). My fares for next summer's Baltic cruise dropped twice within the first 2 weeks of booking. I did exactly as above and re-booked twice. Fares are now higher, so I'm glad I checked. I would recommend checking back every so often to see if fares have gone down. Good luck.

Has anyone actually seen the new beverage menus? I'd be very interested in the new wines by the glass, any new sparkling wines added, and prices.

The Majestic is going to China until fall 2018 when she will reposition to Australia for half a year. Then, alternate half a year each between China & Aus... at least that's the plan (so far). All is subject to change depending on where the money is.
Here's a recent article about the change in plans: https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/cruises/2017/05/11/now-you-can-sail-on-ship-built-for-china/101543694/#

Does Viking Ocean Cruises post a current wine list (either for bars or the dining room), should one want to try something other than the wines on offer? Is there a list that shows both bottles and wines by the glass. Or does anyone have pictures of a current list? I'm particularly interested in sparking wines/champagnes. I've tried multiple searches, but have had no luck. Thanks.

April 23, 2017-Majestic Princess
ITINERARY CHANGE
Based on guest preference for alternative ports, we have made the decision to cancel our call to Kusadasi on Friday, April 28, 2017. Instead, we will now call to Kotor, Montenegro on Wednesday, April 26 and Corfu, Greece on Thursday, April 27. As a result of these changes, the call to Valletta on Tuesday, April 25 has also been cancelled and port order and call times have been amended. The revised itinerary displays in full at the end of this notification.
I understand about the change in the Turkey itinerary, but am greatly disappointed that Malta was also canceled. Guess we have no recourse.

I was wondering what the obstructed-view was from Emerald Deck, Cabin E411 on the Golden Princess. I looked through this thread but I didn't see that cabin or one close to it.
Thanks for any info.
I was in E411 on Caribbean Princess and the view was decent. No lifeboats blocking the view, just some metal structures, that let in plenty of light.

Anyone have pix of these Cat. F cabins on CARIBBEAN Princess please?
Im particularly interested in "The View", or lack of one!
Thanks!
I'm booked in E633 on Caribbean Princess. Would love to see the view from there, too.

Just got the Sheraton Old San Juan for 5/2 after our cruise for $83 on Priceline. It looks very convenient to the main cruise port, but we are arriving at the Pan American pier. It got mixed reviews on Trip Advisor, but it looks to be in the middle of Old San Juan. Anyone have any experiences here?

Got the Intercontinental for $134++ on Hotwire for Sat. 4/24. Not sure if that's a great rate or not, but decent hotels seem to be quite pricey that evening. Hope it's a nice place.
A newbie’s note on drinks packages
in Holland America Line

Just booked my first HAL cruise in almost 12 years and am still figuring out all the changes. I got the Have it All package which includes the Signature Beverage Package. Does the 15 drink per day limit also include non-alcoholic beverages (coffee, soda, water, etc.) in that total? I think it does, but just want to confirm. This certainly differs from Princess' packages.
