We did this cruise 20 years ago for my 50th birthday with 5 other couples and had a blast.  This time we are taking our grown kids ,spouses, and grand kids.  ( 12 in all).  Looking forward  to reliving the great time we had before and making new memories.  

Just off Jade 9/17-9/29....mini suite 11588 mid ship (sorta). Never heard any noise. Larger room and bath very nice. However, worst service of any Ncl cruise we have ever been on. Never met cabin steward in 12 days. Main dining room staff were rude and never smiled. (In there defense, they seemed understaffed compared to previous cruises.) Staff just seemed tired and going thru the motions. Mandatory tip added to bill has taken away any incentive to give above service. Since it seemed most of the ship was on the drink package, bartenders and waiters didn't hustle to give good service. There were still a couple of good people, and we tipped them handsomely at the end. Sorry I got off subject.

When we did POA , rented a car at every port. Used Thrifty and got the free VIP card ahead of time. It lets you skip the the line and get a car right away. They also have shuttle that picks up at port.

Question...since we have 4 people in our room ( 2 15 year olds ) can we bring 4 bottles of wine on board??

It's just like being on the ship,..same rules apply. EVERYTHING comes from the ship, too...food, drink, etc...

Plenty of trees for shade! You really don't need to spend a penny there, if you don't want to!

If you have the 15 drink a day package on the ship, is it going to be good for the HMC day??

I know this an older post, but someone might still be interested. It falls under the "been there done that" category. They pack you in like they are putting 10 pounds of potatoes in a 5 pound bag. Free bottle of champagne for your table, and the show is long and boring.

I enjoyed the evening just to say I have been, but wouldn't do it again. Rough area of Paris so be careful after show. As far as racy, you will probably see worse on your way to the show. Just my humble, but accurate opinion.

As Hoaky as it may sound, if you have the time take a Vodka Tour...Not real long, but we had a ball. The guides and entertainment were a blast,and you see some sights not on all the regular tours. The vodka is only soso, but but the experience was worth it.

Have done the 7 day out of Puerto Rico, for my 50th birthday, with a large group that included a bunch of first time cruisers. Everyone had a great time, fewest sea days, and the crew was a blast. Still one of my favorite cruises. Remember ALL ships look grand to new cruisers............:D:D:D:D

There is another thread on CC somewhere (somebody better than me could find it) that traces the Carnivale all the way to scrap....yep it was scrapped a couple of years ago.:(
