  1. On a recent transatlantic cruise, we used Spain Day Tours for tours in 3 ports;  Malaga (tour to Granada/Alhambra), Cartagena (tour of Murcia and Cartagena), and Palma de Mallorca.   All 3 of our Spain Day Tours were wonderful!   The guides were outstanding!  The transportation was comfortable and spacious and the Drivers were great.  The content of the tours was excellent!

Booking was easy.  Spain Day Tours communicates well, is extremely responsive, and was very accommodating to all my requests.

I couldn't be happier.  I will use Spain Day Tours every chance I get!

  2. I highly recommend PK Travel!  We used PK Travel for a private small group (10 people) Tour of Ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion in November 2018 and were very pleased.

At my request, Ms. Potoula combined their two half-day tours of Ancient Corinth and Cape Sounion into one full-day tour, and did a terrific job, accommodating tight time constraints of our cruise.  She was responsive, collaborative and thorough in her communications.

Our driver Dimitri and our licensed guide Michael were both outstanding and made a great team executing this very challenging schedule perfectly.  It was a very full and highly enjoyable day!

Our licensed guide Michael was excellent, extremely knowledgeable, and shared volumes of information with us.  His English was flawless and he presented in a very interesting fashion.

This is the second time I have used PK Travel for small group tour while in Athens on a cruise and I couldn’t be happier!  I am about to book them for 2 more days for later this year.  I can highly recommend PK Travel without any hesitation!

  3. Some will say Deck 6, because you're on the Penthouse Deck and the service will be better from your Butler as they don't have to run as far. Our preference for decks is equal between 6 and 7, then 8, lastly 9 (under public space, so likely some noise, large overhang). We prefer the rear cabins as they are more protected by wind when underway (blocked by the front facing cabin), so here is our preference order:

    7140/6106

    8106

    7138/6104

    8104

    9140

    9138

It's a great cabin, and generally a very, very good value compared to the not much larger Royal Suite.

    Happy Sailing,

    Jenna

We will be on same cruise Rome to Abu Dhabi this November! Your ranking is very helpful! I am trying to decide between 7138 (forward of the 2 CSs) and 8106 (rear of the 2 CSs.) Rear is preferred, as you note, hense your higher rank for 8106. But my concern about deck 8 is the very large overhang on deck 10 above; in some photos it looks like you notice this much more from deck 8 than from deck 7. Especially noticable when look fore or aft.

Do you have any opinion on this?

Does seem nice to be across from the library on deck 8.

    Thanks!

    Michele

  4. Thank you all for the reviews! We are considering booking PK for a private tour. Do you think the licensed guide is necessary? We do not mind paying for one if it will greatly enhance our experience. However, wouldn't mind saving money too

    Thoughts?

IMHO, absolutely get a licensed guide! It will so greatly enhance your experience.

    Have a great trip!

  5. I used PK Tours to take our group of 12 on PK Tours' Full-Day Tour of Athens on May 11 and highly recommend them!

It was a full day - from 7:30AM to 4:30PM. The tour was very well structured to include all the key sites, as outlined in their website, allowing adequate/appropriate time for each.

We had booked a licensed guide for the day. Our guide Christina was delightful and very personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Her English was flawless. She provided volumes of info and all questions were answered with clear thorough response. Our driver Theodore was also excellent and very accommodating, including having a chest of ice cold water for us. The Mercedes Benz min-bus was very nice, spacious and comfortable.

The tour was sequenced logically and our guide and driveralso took best advantage of crowd timing. For example they got us to the Acropolis ahead of the big crowds. We also saw the special Sunday Change of the Guard at the Palace at the less-crowded noon-time change where we could get right up front.

Potoula at PK Tours was a pleasure to deal with throughout planning and booking. Communications were clear and all inquiries were answered promptly.

I can highly recommend PK Tours with confidence for your Athens tour!

  6. The speedboat to below Oia, mini bus up, with bus return to Fira is mentioned on www.tomsportguides.com for Santorini and sounds like a perfect fit for us, but I hope travelers keep posting their experiences here for the next few months as we won't be there until May. It's great to see that most people have had good experiences.

I was grateful when I checked to see how many ships are in port and learned we are the only one! But now I wonder if that will work against us in the speedboat filling up? I will probably include a link to this discussion in our cruise thread to spark a bit more interest.

I was wondering if you did post to our May 5 Eastern Med & Greek Isles Cruise thread? I'm interested in what others are doing/thinking.

    Thanks!
