The CDC is dealing with a pandemic that is evolving as we speak, and is something they haven't dealt with before. Yes, it's frustrating but it will take time to get ahead of this.

I may have posted this on another thread but my CVP was trying to get me to book a September 4 2021 Mediterranean cruise out of Amsterdam but when he said final payment is due June 6th I declined. Why are they so anxious for you to book a sailing they know won't happen?
They need the money.

I'm okay with it.

I caught a bad cold and had to stay in the cabin a couple of days. They were sea days, so I didn’t miss any ports.
-
We do early seating. It’s close to our usual dinner time, and being diabetic hubby can't wait too late to eat.
-
We are waiting to see how the cancelations will affect our September 2021 Mediterranean cruise, or if it will still sail.

Crap! Now I've got that stupid Love Boat theme song stuck in my peabrain.
It was in my head while I was boarding my first cruise.

I noticed that some of the fares include Wi-Fi Surf and some include Wi-Fi Stream. I know this is probably a stupid question, but what is the difference between Wi-Fi Surf and Wi-Fi Stream? I thought all Wi-Fi was the same.
Wifi stream is more for movies. Under the new pricing you can upgrade to streaming at a cost.

unlimited basic wifi, not the streaming wifi.
so it looks like people cant hog up the bandwidth with netflix/youtube videos.
am also curious as to the new capt's club benefits.
I am guessing Captain's Club members will get the upgrades.

According to the website Always Included will be the new standard rate as of November 17, which includes unlimited drinks, unlimited WiFi and gratuities. They also said the loyalty program has been re-invented. I have to look that one up.

Have you ever gotten into a conversation on a cruise and found out that you shared something in common from your childhood ?
I met a couple who were retired Penn State Professors. He had a very distinctive southern accent and told me he grew up in Beaumont ,Texas.
His wife had a different accent and I jokingly said that she must have grown up in Brooklyn ,NY.She looked amazed and said that she did. After further conversation we determined that we went to the same high school at the same time.We did not know each other then but we had mutual friends.
Small world.
After I met a guy from our roll call, I found out we're both from Brooklyn.

My first cruise was 1980. It must have been during The Love Boat run because the theme song was going through my head as I was boarding.

Why would that be?
We mostly cruise in the Caribbean. Going back and forth between the hot outdoors and the cold ship causes me to catch a cold.

We honeymooned on a cruise, 7 days on the Norwegian Skyward.

I tend to get bad colds on cruises, probably because of the air conditioning.

We are booked on a cruise September 2021, but if there isn't a reliable COVID-19 vaccine available we're not going.

I agree that you should be fine if you hold a US passport. Worst case you can just use a birth certificate and ID to board and have the passport in case you needed to fly back for some reason. You almost certainly would not get your passport back in time for these trips. I sent mine in in mid march. Been 3 months and haven't heard anything yet.
Right now the processing time for passports is about 10 weeks.
