  1. Earlier in the post, I had a few typos on the City names.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.  Having the correct spelling is important.

sorry to be a bit critical - but correct spelling will help with better guidance.

Kristiansund - or Kristiansand? Stabanger - might be Stavanger? And is Beiranger Geiranger? Is Geiranger twice in the Celebrity itinerary?
I know that some Norwegian ports has a ‘strange spelling’!

anyway Celebrity is in my view the best option, however August is a bit late for an Arctic Circle cruise where you’ll have Midnight Sun I June/July.

The cruise does include three deep fjords to Olden, Flåm and Geiranger

the HAL has several very small ports like Eidfjord, Nordfjordeid, Jondal, Kristiansund (Sand?) and Skjolden. Also two 7 days Cruise with some sea days.

    To clarify the spelling …

    Kristiansand

    Stavanger

    Geiranger

  4. After our trip, we disembarked with MSC owing us 330.00 for several  excursions that were canceled by them.   We were told that we would get the funds back in two billing cycles.    It has been longer than 2 billing cycles.     Does anyone have ideas on how or when we will get this money back?   Does anyone have a phone number or email for the billing department?

As I’ve stated many times on this site. MSC has the worst customer service on the planet. No one knows anything and none of their customer service people can make a decision. Doesn’t matter what room you book they will change it and not even tell you. So as I try to tell people they are a cheap cruise line but cheap for a reason. If you are like myself and mscdivina2016 you will spend hours with phone calls and emails to try to get it right. It doesn’t have to be your mistake MSC will screw it up for you.

Once they have your money they could care less about what’s wrong.

Save yourself the stress and anguish. Don’t book a cruise with this cruise line. Yes there will be people that will come to their rescue and say it’s been absolutely flawless well these people are few and far between.

Read the reviews and you will see the horror stories. Btw it’s not you it’s them.

This is so true !   When it is good, it is good.  But  never and I mean NEVER encounter a problem. because you are on your own.  Customer Service has no power and the other departments do not have phones (really?) .    We had 2 great cruises and all went well.   And then.........bam !  It went South really fast and could not get anyone to help resolve the issue.    So sad that MSC does not "get it" regarding customer service.

You are going about this the wrong way, IMO.  For destinations like this, and other "exotic" destinations, you need to start at the small destination and be working your way backwards to the USA.  First find out what airlines service Fort de France and Pointe a Pitre, and the cities that have service.  Work your way back to the USA.

This method works well for most out of the way spots around the world.

For your most convenient travel, you'd end up going through MIA in almost any scenario.  AA has service from MIA to both FDF and PTP.

Finally, ITA Matrix is your friend.

Thank you !    I checked ITA Matrix and it is awesome !

  7. Hi,

We are considering MSC out of either Martinique or Guadeloupe.  We will be flying in from Dallas.

Which airport appears to have more flights to and from Dallas to either of these ports.

We are also open to flying into Miami / San Juan, etc to grab a connection.

Each leg of the trip can be on a different or same airline.

Any tips, ideas, direction, etc are welcomed.

    Thank You.

  8. Thank you Heidi, Gloria and 5Waldos.

We have been to Alaska once and had a mid ship Balcony.

We have also had a window aft on a lower deck as well as a front facing window under the Bridge when in the Caribbean.   Thanks for the reminders about the movement in the back of the ship.

I guess the con would be the movement and the pro would be the view.

    Thanks

  11. Hi,

DH and I will be sailing round trip from San Juan May 2015. We arrive the day prior to sailing and will fly out the day after we return. Thus, one night in san juan pre and post cruise. To give us enough time to enjoy the rain forest, we were considering a tour the day that we arrive back in port. I have been researching tours and they appear to be leaving around 8 am. This will not give us enough time to clear customs.

Does anyone have suggestions on using a particular tour group that will work with us on the time, will return us to Cruise pier or hotel and will have room for our luggage ?

Do you recommend a full day tour or half day tour given that we do not have to catch a plane?

    Thanks for your assistance
