I have one from the early days....large and with a zip top (which I love because keeps stuff in!) It doesn't have a big Azamara logo...just a discreet little tag on the handle.  I love it and will be taking it on our next Azamara cruise.

That blind embossed tag disappeared several years ago. Guess it wasn't commercial enough.😄

(And, yes, I still have one.)

Yes!  The picture doesn’t even do it Justice!  It’s beautiful fabric, large and sturdy! It goes on every trip with us.

It's 20 inches wide and 14 inches high, made from the same heavy canvas Lands' End uses for their boat bags.

Azamara used to provide these bags to people in the owners suites. We knew a couple who sailed in an owners suite for several weeks at a time. On each leg, they got a new bag. They offered one to us and we were only too happy to accept. We've had it for years.

If one cabin has a lot of obc, and friends in another doesn't, can the first cabin bring, and pay for, a speciality dinner for the others?

If the money is yours to spend, I don't see why you can't treat friends to a specialty dinner.

It will be our first time on Azamara in Dec.  We have a lot of OBC, so much I'm not sure how we will spend it and I think it is nonrefundable.  If we pay for excursions now with OBC and later change our minds, can we cancel and the OBC will go back in our accounts?

This will work if you cancel within the specified time before the excursion. I'm sure someone else here knows the timeframe. 24 or 48 hours?

Are you able to ask for a shared table in the specialty restaurants, ie for single passengers who want to join a table of others?

This is true for couples as well as singles. You can arrive at the main dining room and ask to be seated with another couple, a table for 6, or even a table for 8. However, in the specialties, you will not be able to ask for a table for 4 unless you provide the other two people.

I see this as a major drawback of eating in Prime C or Aqualina. When we stay in a suite, we hesitate to ask another couple to join us for dinner because it may be an unanticipated expense for them.

    Hi

My first post so please be gentle:)

My wife and I are on the Amazara Pursuit, leaving Venice on the 19th of June, has anyone any experienced departure from here as it seems a bit of a minefield and the Azamara reps are a bit vague when speaking to them, thanks in advance.

Welcome to the board. Some new posters here get less-than-kind responses when new posters ask questions that could easily be answered by looking at the Azamara website. You've asked the kind of question that should get you the help you need from board members.

    Fear not. You're among friends.

Interesting.  I swear I still have the bruises from hitting the grab bar put in the worst spot possible in the shower of the Onward's CC Suite.  Shower was huge....but worst design ever.

You're right. The grab bar in Onward's CC suite shower has very sharp corners. My elbow ached after I hit it. Things that look good from a design perspective don't always work for people.

  12. 8004 (I think this is the one you meant) will be quiet because it is far forward so you won't have lots of foot traffic outside your door. If seas are rough, you'll feel them more here. This is a cabin I've stayed in and liked.

From the ones you listed, I'd choose 8029 for the least motion of the ocean.

If seasickness is really a big potential problem, take 8029 or 8033.

Another report re: shower doors on the O R class ships.

Before experiencing them, our take was "Finally!  No more shower curtains!"

After experiencing them, our take was "No way!  Shower curtains vastly preferable!"

I thought the glass doors were a good thing - until I smacked my elbow into them while shampooing my hair. Glass is unforgiving, fabric moves.

They shouldn't have to.  We're all grown ups and need to be responsible.  This could happen on land as well as on a long cruise.

You're right. They shouldn't have to.

But with all the preparation that world cruise participants have to make for a trip this length, it would be nice if they did send a reminder.

It would cost nothing to send a special note suggesting that people check their available passport pages.

  15. Isn't there someone at cruisecritic who knows that casinos on Azamara have been gone for a long time? This is copied from a cruisecritic email I received today.

Everything You Need to Know about Azamara Journey
There are Pros and Cons to sailing on Azamara Journey. Here’s a quick look:

Pro: Unique programming, friendly service and impressive commitment to destination cruising.
Con: Limited entertainment options, including a too-small casino, and hit-or-miss theater offerings.

Per my travel agent Azamara acknowledges their mistake on not applying the paid in full discount but now they have added a balance due to a completely paid off cruise. My TA continues to make calls with AZA moving the file to a different department. My opinion of the AZA back office is not repeatable to the audience of this roll call.

Your opinion of the Azamara back office is heard loud and clear by most members of this board, who second it.

I realize there are cruise line "homers" out there. As a frequent Regent (former Radisson) cruiser, I see it all the time. Oceania in particular is not a line I would consider because of the passive aggressive behavior displayed on that forum.

People posting on any of these boards are a tiny fraction of a cruise line's passengers. Perhaps you should make up your own mind about Oceania based on something more substantive.

Did anyone get an email today announcing the big news?  Or is it just the new itineraries on the website?  That hardly seemed worth the build up.

    Here's the email:

Because of your loyalty, we wanted to give you an exclusive sneak peek of our thrilling new itineraries, promising to transport you to new ports of call across the globe. Prepare to explore destinations that we’ve never visited before.

Immerse yourself in the captivating allure of the Caribbean with our back-to-back sailings with no sea days and enticing new ports like Scarborough, Tobago where you can join a snorkeling adventure and witness the Buccoo Reef.

Or venture to Gantheaume Point in Broome, Australia and stand in a 120-million-year-old dinosaur footprint.

In South America, uncover the vibrant culture of Santa Marta, Colombia, as ancient ruins and colonial architecture invite exploration at every turn.

For all foodies, indulge in the culinary wonders of Maizuru, Japan, where expert chefs will guide you through the art of sushi-making.

At Azamara Cruises, we believe true exploration demands more than fleeting visits. That’s why we proudly offer more time in port than any other cruise line, including Extended Destination Days of 10 hours or more in port. To fully immerse yourself in the local culture, we’re thrilled to introduce new AzAmazing Evenings on these itineraries – complimentary cultural events offering unforgettable performances and experiences that celebrate the essence of each destination.

Your next unforgettable voyage awaits – are you ready to set sail with us? Secure your spot onboard today.

Clearly an error. A CC suite would cost, roughly, about $12000 a day, for two guests, in my experience.

I think anyone who books at $1266 for 7 days should not expect that price to be honoured, whether it be in the short-term or even months later.

Think you have an extra zero, but your point is spot on. Azamara doesn't price suites at $180 p/p. Anyone who has priced a cruise will recognize the OP's price as a clear mistake.
