  1. We were booked for a cruise on the Sapphire beginning 23rd March. Not sure whether to have a refund or take the offer of the 25% additional credit. I am concerned that the credit voucher might be worthless if the company goes under due to a prolonging of the situation. We had a really good deal on the 19 night cruise and would be tempted to hang on for a similar good deal in the future but would hate to lose all the money we paid. Does anyone know if future credit vouchers would be covered by Abta or by the credit card used for the original payment? Does anyone have any thoughts on the strength of the company to survive this crisis? Any opinions gratefully received.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Guest Medical Support.

Please always carry your identification card.  In an accident, your I.D. card will tell the people helping you that you have a pacemaker.  Please also travel with a letter from your doctor stating your use of a pacemaker and present the letter to security staff.  This will allow them to utilize a wand/pat down rather than having you walk through the metal detectors.  For future voyages, no need to send us this information prior to sailing.

In regards to the medallion and your medical equipment, at this time there is no indication of affect on implanted medical devices.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

To add to what Host CJSKIDS said; in the bar, pool, gift shops, photo gallery; you will have a magnetic scanner which is what you lay or put your medallion near.  If you have an iphone or apple watch and have used apple pay in stores; it is the same principal.  The scanner activates as your medallion gets near.  If you go into a bar and order a drink by yourself the bartender will ask for you to place your medallion near the scanner.  If you have more questions please ask

Hi, does anyone know if it is safe for a person fitted with a pacemaker to use these medallions. I have seen conflicting answers to this and am becoming quite concerned as to whether we will be able to book with Princess in future.

  4. Thank you all for the helpful replies. It is so kind of you to take the time,

I might be cheeky and ask further questions in the next few weeks as we are really excited about this cruise,it being a step up from our previous experiences on Cunard, Holland America etc. I am particularly looking forward to the dining as the menus online look fabulous. Are there any particular stand out dishes that we should try?

  5. Hi everyone,

We have booked a cruise on Riviera for the 31st August, first time that we will be on Oceania, although have tried many other lines.

I now need to book the speciality restaurants but as we normally dine early I would prefer the dates not to clash with the captains welcome aboard evening. Could you please advise which evening of the cruise this is likely to be?

Also, we will be arriving in Venice at 17.05 on the 31st August, could anyone suggest an easy way to get to the ship that is not too costly, and do Oceania always use the same berth in Venice and if so, where is it?

Thanks for reading this and any information will be much appreciated.

    Janet
