  1. Was on an NCL cruise out of Miami in November and the Hurricanes were playing an afternoon game.

Nevermind not having that game on, they failed to show any football all cruise. Just soccer/cricket . . . Even at the "Sports Bar". It was embarrassing and disappointing. Luckily on Sunday I found a bar near The docks in Nassau and was able to watch the 1 p.m. Games.

If Carnival is going the same route I will X them off my football season cruiseline preference regardless of the rate.

That is sad to hear, lets hope that is not the case now..... I know we are on a cruise, but that is something I enjoy doing. my family understands that sports are part of my life, why would something I enjoy be something I would ignore on my vacation. No way.

  2. Nothing better than watching a playoff game on the Seaside Theather. Would suck to see those disappear. It ABSOLUTELY will play a factor for people cruising in January if those games are not available.

I agree I have watched many national championships both football and basketball on the big screen at the seaside theater, so much fun. If that goes away it really disappoints me

  3. OH NO! We are sailing on the Elation this Thursday (January 18th) through Monday. The Jaguars are playing the Pats this weekend. I never thought about them NOT showing the games, and my husband is counting on watching them. Does anyone know whether the Elation has changed their channels yet? I certainly hope not!

there is no reason the sports bars will not be showing football

  4. As stated above, it really depends on how many ships are in port, I was there a day that there was 4 ships in port and it took 3 hours in waiting areas and lines, this port is a very very busy port and it is all condensed into one entrance area, so the lines dont separate check in till later in the process

  5. This year is year 3 of our regular group. SO far, we decide where to next while on the current cruise. Current cruise sails on March 10...Harmony OTS...with stops in St. Thomas, San Juan, & Labadee. Cruise 1 was on Navigator OTS, with stops in Grand Cayman and Falmouth. Cruise 2 was on Adventure OTS with stops in St,Maarten, St. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados. All cruises are 7-8 days.

    Things we are considering are.....

    1. Western Caribbean on Symphony OTS

    2. An ABC Islands cruise on whatever goes there.

    3. Greek Isles cruise out of Rome.

    4. A Disney cruise.

So how would YOU rank the options? Would you add another option?

Help me sound like I know what I'm talking about this March.

Really depends on budget, the difference between the WC and the Greek islands is pretty substantial, and again the difference between RCI and Disney, again substantial, also are you bringing kids with you? If so, how old are they? Where are you flying from? lots to discuse

  6. We also use cruise cal

In addition, I do google searches and try to find the official site for the port and if they provide a cruise schedule I find this to be the most accurate of them all.

This is the best way do it. I have used the port websites many times

  7. IMO infants should stay at home if at all possible. They are more susceptible to germs since they have their hands and feet in their mouths a lot and they won't even know they were on a cruise. We had a crying baby next cabin for 7 days once. Not much to say to the parents, babies cry. Another time a small child in a highchair in MDR threw everything put in front of her on the floor. when the parents asked for a box of Cheerios the kid threw that all over the floor too and screamed bloody murder...I love kids but sometimes parents put them in situations they shouldn't be in.

Thank you for your opinion, It seems that you have had the wonderful opportunity to have the option of having a babysitter that you trust any time you want to leave your child for 7 days. Having an adult vacation is not always an option, or the desired option for that matter. I am sorry that you were stuck next to a crying baby for 7 days that sounds very disappointing, I do hope that did not destroy your experience, but i am glad that the parents had the oportunity and the guts to still have a vacation that I am sure they needed, even with the crying or the throwing food

  8. All of the staff loved our kids, especially the baby and we were lucky to have kind neighbors and tablemates.

I have sailed with a 16 month old twice and a toddler also, it was a wonderful experience and the staff loved the kids so much, most of them have kids at home that they miss very much. because of this they go out of there way for your kids. I love my cruises and taking my kids on it makes it that much better. Traveling with children of any age is hard. And it does feel that way to often people around you are giving dirty looks because I made a choice to bring my child. What I have come to realize is, everyone has an opinion about how I should do things or about what I should do or not do with my children, but in the end, I am the one that gets to do me. And doing me involves exposing my children to as many new experiences as I can. Go cruise, love every second of it, and dont worry one second about what others around you might dislike or think about what you are doing.

  9. we didn't go to the beach in St Maarten, you could look in these boards for the port and I am sure there would be great beach info. I do know that Orient Beach is a topless beach on the French side of the island.

The majority of the buildings and beachside bars were destroyed at Orient in the hurricane.

  10. Amazing review, I love the pictures, unbeliveable!!!. I have a Nikon D5000 that I like a lot. But I sure can not make it work like you make yours work. I think me and the wife need to go on a cruise with you guys just so you can show me how to use the camera better.( I can always come up with an excuse to go on a cruise)

Do you have a website with all your pictures on it? becuase I am sure you had even more that you did not post
