Planning Carnival Splendour in Feb and I'd appreciate your help:-

Can you take any alcohol on board with you?

Can men make do with shirt and tie on formal nights? (without jacket)

Is your cabin ready when you board or do you have to wait for announcement?

Thank you very much for all your replies, very helpful. We are definitely leaving the formal clothes at home.

Recently booked 10 day Sapphire Princess cruise and would prefer not to take formal wear with us (I know lots of people love this aspect of cruising, but on this occassion we would rather not)

My question is, for people who have travelled on this ship before are there enough dining options available for the non formally dressed passengers on formal evenings?
