  1. We are doing the 14 days Med Cruise October 2024.  We are excited as we had to cancel the last one during pandemic.

We have never saild HAL so I am interested in really checking out the ship!!

  2. I've read this thread with a great deal of interest.

We are sailing on the SOS for New Year's out of San Juan. I choose it for itinerary first, ship second. We don't cruise in the summer, we prefer fall and winter sailings as we like to travel with less kids around.

I've noticed that a lot of people complained about the airfare to San Juan. Conversely, the airfare there is MUCH HIGHER in the summer and lowers for the winter because of the Puerto Rican community that lives here and travels back in the summer. I watched the fares and paid $380 r/t pp, which I feel was a good price - I traveled back and forth from Fla for over 20 years and learned to play the game.

I'm not loyal to one cruise line - I've sailed Celebrity, Princess and RCI. We did Princess last November on a partial canal cruise (Fabulous!!!). I look at the itinerary and sea days (as we love sea days) then the ship (prefer smaller ships). Have no desire to go on Oasis or Allure.

  3. I got the Radisson Ambassador for $75 ($91.16 after all taxes) for December 30th. I bid early (beg. of Feb) because it's right before New Year's and most hotels wanted a minimum 2 night stay. Read the reviews on Trip Advisor which were mixed, but for one night, as long as I have a clean room and bathroom, I'll be a happy camper.

  4. We're on the Coral in November for Panama Canal. We booked a BD on the Caribe Deck on the "bump" because the balcony is larger. When my TA called the line, I had originally wanted starboard, but the cruise line said port would e better when going through the canal.

    I can't wait!!!!
