I actually lost weight on this cruise the food was so bad. I mean consistently bad. How does that happen. I had to eat at Guys Burger bar like every night. And fresh fruit for breakfast. I was extremely disappointed. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/images/smilies/frown.gif

Hmmm don't know how you ate at Guy's every night when they close at 6 pm

We will be boarding her on December 24th!!! The 2nd time on her as the first time was my first cruise 10 YEARS ago!!!

Just got back off an 8 day on the dream and booked for the triumph for Christmas. We bought the cheers package on the dream and again for the triumph. You don't have to drink 15 drinks to get your moneys worth.

We both drink long island tea . At $9 each . also if i am enjoying a cigar i get a double makers mark on the rocks.another $9 drink 5 drinks a day is break even for us. Beer it takes around 9 i think to break even.

Only time i saw anyone cut off at 15 drinks was 2 guys that would sit at the casino bar all day drinking beer . Once they would reach their limit they would get their wives to start buying for them.

We just got off the dream and got a bounce back for the triumph for a Christmas eve cruise. Do you remember what if any night time deck parties them had? IE: glow party . white light party , etc.

we don't go on a cruise to sit around in the cabin. I like a balcony as i sleep out there at night when the weathers right. If i wanted spa and butlers etc i would go to the 4 seasons. The cabin is for the 3 S's.

We are booked on the 10 -16 8 day cruise on the dream. Can any recent cruisers let me know what night time deck parties they have ?

IE . white night , glo party , 80s party etc etc.

As long as people have clothes on and they don't smell, What they wear doesn't affect how my food taste.

If you want meals where everyone dresses up you will have to move up to the high end lines. Carnival , rci ,etc have gotten away from "formal" nights and now office casual is the norm on the 2 cruise elegant nights. Even those rules are often not enforced.

Prepaying gratuities doesn't save you money. You pay the same amount whether you pay it now or later.

Can one just walk into the steak house and order a drink at the bar, without having dinner there?

Yes and it's the least crowded bar on the ship.

Hi everyone!

 

My BF and I are sailing on the Vista on Oct 1st for his birthday. I secretly took an upsell from an interior cabin to a balcony cabin for a decent price (paid the difference myself)!!! I'm so glad I did it because all the rooms are now sold out! We've never had a balcony room!

 

Anyway, we were originally on deck 7 but now on deck 6, close to the aft... just wondering if you guys have any ideas on how I can explain why we are now on deck 6 without mentioning that we have a balcony room. I don't want to tell him until we get to the room and he opens the door to the cabin.

 

Any ideas will be appreciated! :D

That's a great surprise Just one problem. You will never cruise without a balcony again.

we have started taking a couple of the large sham wows w/ us when we travel as its not allways sunny to dry swim suits and other wet clothes. just roll the clothes up tightly in a sham wow and it takes all the water out quickly.

may need to hit swim suit w/ blow dryer for a min. just to warm it up b4 wearing.
