  1. Will have husband and I and 5 year old and 2.5 year old. We arrive at 10:30 and leave 5:30. We have onboard activity at 2:30 but hoping to move it to later to give us more time. But anyway, how long do you think we would have realistically in port after tendering in and tendering back to arrive by 2pm. I'm thinking maybe less than 3 hours. Is this sufficient to do anything? Deciding between turtle farm and seven mile beach

  2. Can anyone tell me if kids 3 and under have to pay for DCL ground transfers? I'm finding different answers online, but no mention of age on DCL website.

Also has anyone stayed at WDW resorts and head back to MCO to catch DCL earlier?

  3. When a new itinerary is released, all rooms are available (by number) to be selected.

Once a certain percentage of rooms within a specific category are booked, the category goes GTY. You can still select that category, but you cannot pick a specific room. You pay the same price, even though you do not get to pick a room.

About 45-60 days out from the cruise DCL, then sorts out the GTY bookings, sometimes a category may actually have more bookings then there are available rooms, and someone will be upgraded to a higher category (no extra charge). That said, in most cases, if you book at GTY room, you will get exactly the category you booked.

    Ahhh thank you for clarifying!!

  4. Thanks for that link.

So are you saying that at opening day all cabins are free for all? It sounds like then they changed it to GTY when it was all booked so likelihood of actually getting an aft cabin seems slim

  5. Interested in Cat 5E on Fantasty but it's GTY. Does anyone know how the room assignment works? First come first serve? Was it ever NOT GTY such as right when the dates are released? Or is it like a "bait and switch"? I put that in quotes because it's not like you're really tricked, but what I mean is maybe the 5Es were all selected (assuming they weren't GTY at release) and then they changed it to GTY, and then use that to fill in the crappier rooms that aren't sold. Is that how it works?

  6. Yes for sure go to Pike Place Market! It's what people think of when they think Seattle so don't miss it! It's fun and there are some good snacks and stuff to try nearby. The Aquarium is also very close by. It's been over a decade since I have been there. Definitely better aquariums out there.

I'm local but haven't visited the Space Needle or Chihuly [emoji15]. I would probably skip the zoo since there's nothing particularly special about it. I just think in terms of priority and what is unique to Seattle, you would want to do the other ideas.

  7. Hoopster - thanks so much for your review of Victoria! Did you do all of what you did by foot? I wasn't sure if you caught any taxis or anything. I was surprised to read that it sounded like walked to the castle from beacon hill park. Your itinerary sounds exactly like what we want to do. Were your feet killing you at the end of the day? We will have two young kids with us and will likely wear them in carriers - one probably the whole time as I don't think she'll be able to walk yet, but also a 3.75 year old who could walk part of the way. We won't be able to take taxis or anything since we won't have cArseats but I'm afraid of getting tired and then "stuck" in the middle of Victoria!! Thoughts?
