  1. Hey back from my cruise so here is my review- overall had a great time! There are a few different houses that they have. There were 3 carnival ships in port that day so they have at least 2 different houses that they use. The house was ok. There is a pool a men’s bathroom and a woman’s bathroom then there is a man made beach with just sand that overlooks the water along with chairs and hammocks. The only way to get in the ocean was from a ladder or to jump in... the water is about 9 feet deep when you get in so you have to wear a vest that keeps you afloat. Food was ok but didn’t eat too much as I have a bad stomach so I only had a few bites and as far as drinks I only had beer but they were pleantyful and you were able to have as many drinks as you want. Overall I enjoyed the excursion and would definitely do it again. Any other questions I would be happy to answer for you.

    Hi Mfg316:

My DH and I considered this excursion. Is the ocean water rough when entering by ladder? What about rocks and coral? DH likes to snorkel and I like to sit in the shade and relax.

Any info would be helpful. We are booked on the Carnival Dream in August 19.

    Thank you, Gina

  2. You don't want to pay for laundry on a per piece basis, that is unless you're trying to spend a great deal of $$$ for nothing.

Before you decided on the per bag or unlimited method, take a good look at how many of you there are, and where you're going. If there are two of you, and you are sailing in hot climates, you may want to send your clothes at the end of every day---regardless of whether or not the bag is full. In that case, the unlimited is great. If there is only one person, especially in cooler climates, things can be reworn, and it may take most of the cruise to fill a bag.

So true, we are cruising Caribbean so it will most l likely be warm weather.

  3. Unless you are having just a few things washed, either the unlimited or 'by the bag' pricing will be better than by the item.

Before HAL offered 'free' laundry for 4* Mariners, we used the 'all you can cram' bag of laundry on a cruise. Back then it was $12 per bag. However, we were charged by the piece for one bag. It was over $80 for that one bag. Even though we showed them our copy and the returned copy of the laundry form (both clearly marked for 'by the bag') it took the Front Desk several days to "investigate" our claim that we were overcharged. In 'fixing' the overcharge, we were then charged for two bags, not one. Back to the 'always smiling, never helpful' Front Desk to get that straightened out.

Unless you go for the unlimited laundry, keep your copies of the laundry form, even after the laundry has been returned, to verify the charges to your account.

good tips on the laundry service. cruise is nearly here.

  4. We were on Noordam for a Christmas cruise and had the unlimited laundry package. It was $7/day & had great service!

Enjoy -- Noordam was a wonderful ship with fantastic crew!

Thank you. I assume I inquire then at the front service desk when I arrive on board the Noordam for the unlimited laundry package. That will help with packing lighter luggage.

  5. Just a quick note... Noordam feb 28th 2014.

Hope it was just a typo.lol or just excited and showing up early.:D

I am on that cruise so doubted myself for a second.

yes the sailing date is Feb 28th. we are flying out on the 26th. so I have that date in mind. See you soon.

  6. Have your TA call and ask -- chances are slim that if your do get extra shipboard credit, you will lose the Explore4 package.

My TA did call about the price drop and a OBC but we were denied due to the explore 4 offer. The price has since dropped again for the VD category and we were offered a cabin upgrade to VA or a OBC but the explore 4 was eliminated. TA was able to keep a PG dinner via her HAL rep. We took the OBC at least it was something as were were inside the cut off date.

  7. Hi All, I have noticed that the prices have dropped for my cruise on Feb 26 on Noordam (Caribbean) again this week. I booked when Explore 4 was offered (pinnacle grill, $50 beverage card, etc) and have a VD category cabin, the prices are now $200 per person lower for VD category.

Does anyone have any tips on getting a ship board credit. Last week my TA tried to get a shipboard credit but at that time HAL said my offer I received was to my benefit, so bottom line no OBC for me. Now the price has dropped again, let me know your thoughts. thank you
