So Just a tip if you are bidding on Haven Suites and not looking to break the Bank. Typically Haven Suites like the Forward Facing will be a lower minimum bid and also a lot of people don't bid on them because they are not in the Haven Area itself. Yes the Balcony is very small, But the room itself is a great size. I won the Forward Facing Haven with a minimum bid on the Breakaway last December.

Is the balcony large enough for 3 people? Just wondering before I bid.

As an alternative idea you could walk up to Basin Rd and either go up the actual Mt. Roberts trail and ride the tram back down (free with a $10pp spend at the restaurant/bar at the top) or you could continue to the end of Basin Rd to Perseverance Trail, which would be an out and back hike.

Ok, liking this plan. How far a walk to Basin Rd from the NCL cruise port? WHen I  see Mt Roberts trail, I start on it. How long will it take us tos get to top for tram? OR if we do Perserverance Trail, it is a straight walk from cruise port to trail and back, correct? Which trail offers more to see, like water falls or glacier (from a distance)? Thank you! You have been very helpful!

  3. Need some help deciding which place to go to for the best hiking experience. Nugget Falls, I believe, will get us close the M. glacier. What is best way to the trail, Uber, taxi, tram? Mt Robert takes us up a mountain for a great view, I think. How would I get there? Do I tram up it and then hike? I have been over-reading and now I am confused. 3 of us going end of June and we want about a 2-3 mile hike and to be gone from ship around 3-4 hours. Suggestions please.

  4. Looking for hiking day w family in Juneau. Should I take tram to Mt Roberts ( what do I see? Glacier? Waterfall?)or Uber to Nugget falls area ? I don’t really want to do a guided tour, but want to see more than trees. I am unsure how to go about this from the NCL port.

  5. I am booked in Aquaclass in April and I was just trying to figure out the regular dining on Apex. My TA made it sound like I'd be assigned a table and dining room, but that I could go online and book other main dining rooms. Also, does Blu serve the main dining menu for dinner. Every sample menu I see from Blu looks very selective and healthyish....even breakfast looks that way.

  6. We have cruised many times, but never on MSC. We recently booked during the “balcony at the price of an inside room” sale. We are not big drinkers, but enjoy the freedom of drink packages when cruising. If we buy basic drink package (I read where that covers a drink up to $6) and I order a frozen drink ($8.75), do they just charge you for the difference in price? This happens on Celebrity and NCL and I am curious. Thank you.

  7. THANK YOU for advice to ignore some of the criticism! We don't sail until April and I have all ready lost sleep thinking about how early I need to get up to get "common" seats by the pool for 4 people (2 being my inlaws who we are introducing to NCL). Three current questions I have are: did you eat at Q? If so, how was it? I booked it thinking my Father in law would like it, but am considering changing it to French Bistro. Also, do the dancers still entertain at dinner in the Manhattan Room? If you have sailed NCL previously, how does The Local compare to O'Sheehans? I usually don't pay attention to all the negativity, but I have also never cruised on such a large vessel and the bad reviews are abundant. Thanks again!

  8. I am cruising on Solstice to Alaska soon. We have 8 balcony rooms in a row; will they open up the balconies so we can move back and forth or share the view? I have had both sides opened up before just not this many.

  9. Carnival Sunshine reviews say that on the 5 hour monkey excursion you only see monkeys for 15 minutes. Any thoughts on this? What about booking through an outside company? April is trip time, so advice is needed.

  10. Going on a Celebrity. I just wondered in general. Not been on Alaskan and didn’t know if pool deck was a happening place when weather not hot.

  11. Are burgers on the outside grill by the pool still available on Alaska cruises? I try to stay away from burgers BUT not when I'm poolside and hungry on a ship.
