  1. It was a comment that one thing going up may affect other purchases. Not the $1.50, or whatever it is. It's higher cost on multiple bottles that I'll buy a day over the course of a cruise, plus gratuities, plus all the other things I buy on a cruise like exercise classes & a balcony or a good flight. For me it is all part of the same vacation cost, and I don't think it's wrong to be aware of having some sort of budget in mind. I hope I never feel the need to look down on someone for having a budget.

In the past I've bought the large water bottles which I thought were over $4 each - I don't know if they are higher now. I believe Jimbo5544 was good enough to just post he didn't think they were higher. It's always nice when folks here can just comment without being snarky.

great comment! Some seem to be going out of their way to be sarcastic.
  2. Following ... we didn't get FFtF because when we got it in PE the staggered checking made everything smoother and our friends where on the boat about 20 min after we where... I hope they start enforcing this! They where really strict in PE but it made it less chaotic!

  3. I absolutely love it. She did it longer for me and it's been about 8 days but it still feels fresh. I fly out today and it will be interesting to see how it holds out for the next 17 days!! The only thing that will make it a challenge is the humidity.

Please post a picture of you can! Enjoy your cruise! I can't wait to hear all about it!

  4. So I decided to go with the GAR. I switched on wed. And got my assigned room today (Friday) we got the lido deck!! It's the same deck as our friends and and just a little down the hall from them. So glad the gamble paid off! I'm going to surprise my hubby! 37 days to go!

  5. Hey! My cruise actually isn't until Sept 16th. I am getting my hair done on Friday though and I am getting twists done. I will come back and let you know how it turned out!

Thanks for replying! I was asking because you posted a few years ago that you got them for a cruise... When you get twist this time are you adding hair or just twisting your own hair?

  6. For my upcoming cruise, I'm debating twists or natural curls with curling rods. The trip is going to be 18 days total so thinking if I just go with my natural hair, I can fully refresh it every 6 days. To wash and twist my hair is about 90 minutes. My cruise is not until September so I'll probably decide by early August.

Hi just wanted to ask how your crochet braids held up? Any pictures? I'm thinking of getting some that look like my natural hair but with less work:D I wonder if it will come out when I swim or snorkel. How did yours do with swimming?

  7. No you won't to the insurance part. I have done this before. If you booked through InsureMyTrip, call them. They will have you type out a letter and sign saying you waive all rights to make a claim against the previous cruise. Like I said, I have done it when we switched from our Splendor cruise to the Glory.

As far as the $50, I'm sorry but I can't feel sorry for you there. That's the risk you take booking ES. We also had to eat $100 on that same cruise. But I can tell you that I have saved MANY times that in all the price drops I have gotten. But, hey, it's not for everyone. Live and learn.

I meant the carnival Insurance. I don't need you to feel sorry for me;) I get the rules but it still sucks...I have always done early saver and in the past we did get quite a few price drops... Not this year tho.

  8. I switched today and my pvp charged me the 50pp. I think it's horrible that they do this especially if you are rebooking to another cruise before final payment. I won't book early saver anymore. I use to get great price drops but have not got any on this or my other cruise booked this year. I asked him could he escalate to try to get it waived but no go... Anyway he also told me if you have the insurance and cancel you will lose that as well... I didn't know this. I booked my insurance thru Nationwide.:(

  9. We are sharing a cabana with another couple and they actually bought the cabana on thier CC, they will be arriving at the port late and since Cabana's are first come and we have Fttf is there anyway for me to pick the cabana before they board? I know we could have canceled the cabana under her name and we purchase it on our CC but they are now sold out and I would be scared I would miss getting it somehow. Any advice or anyone else done this? TIA

  10. My kids are teens now, but here's an idea that popped into my head.

Kids are in Camp Carnival. Mom grabs sandwiches, fruit, whatever from lido buffet, and takes into cabin. Then Mom retrieves kids, and takes down to cabin for lunch, free from distractions. Then naps, if applicable, or a quick trip back to lido for ice cream :D

    Great Idea!
