  1. How does it work if the embarkation day is someone’s  21st birthday (for sailing from port Canaveral where the drinking age is 21)

I’m wondering if the drink package can be purchased in advance (since passenger will be  of age the entire cruise) ?

And/or if there is any other hiccups that I am not thinking of?

    thanks!

  2. I just saw on a cruise video someone make the recommendation that you can go into any  restaurant and order their specialty cocktail even if you are not dining there. They even specifically mentioned ordering the cucumber martini from 150 central before heading off to dinner at a different restaurant.
I was wondering if anyone can confirm/deny or comment on this? I would LOVE to stop by 150 for this delicious cocktail even when I am not dining there, but if I recall this drink is a lot of work for the server , is it really possible… and even if it is, would it be very inconvenient to ask of them 🤔

  3. Hello all!

I was wondering if anyone has some experience/information/insight on how a back-to-back generally works when the two sailings are booked for different staterooms.

We have completed several back-to-back sailings and REALLY enjoy them. But we have only ever had the experience when we are in the same stateroom for both voyages. Previously, when booked in the same state room, we have always been allowed to leave all our luggage in the room, meet in a lounge and get escorted off/on the ship. Obviously, when sailing in a different stateroom, we would need to fully pack our luggage , but do you know if it works similar to a normal disembarking that we would have to fully exit and go down to claim all our luggage?

I am aware that there really are no  "set standards" for back-to-back sailing and that the policies vary ship to ship and voyage to voyage, just wondering if you have had this experience and what it has been like

    Thanks!

You are allowed to use the vouchers to purchase a drink for someone else.  They aren't transferable for redemption by another person, but the drinks you obtain by using them are yours to do with as if you had purchased them at full price.

    excellent!!!

    extremely helpful info!

    thanks so much

  5. Question ... as diamond members , I read that we'll receive 3 complimentary drink vouchers. We don't generally utilize these, as we get the drink package (I know that might sound foolish to some, but we find it's the best choice for us, for a number of reasons). So our drink vouchers always just go to waste.

We were wondering if it is permeable to give away our drink vouchers since we have no need for them?

BY NO MEANS do we desire to "cheat the system" or break any rules, I just can't seem to find anywhere if it would be legal to do so.

    Thanks!!!

  6. Hello, we have never done the Ultimate Dining Package before & I have a few questions (FYI, sailing the Allure next month)

First off, we are traveling with friends and would like to book our dining reservations together. I know for the first night the ship pre-books your dinner reservation, how do I go about getting the 4 of us on the same reservation? (if I'm understanding correctly, beyond that, I go to any restaurant and book the rest of the reservations, for the trip... so I'm sure from hence forth booking together will not be an issue)

Second, I've read a bit of varying policies regarding the lunches, where they are available, if they are available on embarkation day, etc. I am comfortable waiting until we board to know the specifics of our sailing. But my question is, once on board how will I know? Will there be any sort of paperwork in our room letting us know the details of the dining package. AND, since the rooms do not open until 1pm, how will I know if we get lunch on our embarkation day?

Third, we have dietary restrictions in our party. When we dine in the main dining room we are used to the head waiter taking care of our needs. Is there any way to notify the restaurant in advance of our restrictions or any other advice for the Ultimate Dining Package & Dietary needs ?

Lastly, is the first night reservation somewhat flexible? (our sailing is only 39 days away & still has much availability) we have Mama Mia booked for 8pm so it will need to be an early dinner. And there is one restaurant that we have no interest in. If they happen to book us there, have you generally found that there is flexibility to move that first night's reservation?

    Thanks for the helpful advice!

  7. Has anyone recently done the Blue Lagoon VIP experience???

We see from photos that off to the right side of the dock there is a new area with (what looks like) beach beds, blue loungers, ect.

I know years ago the VIP experience was way off in the back-area of the island, but is it possible it has moved to the right of the dock/main bar ???

    Any info would be great.

We have done Blue Lagoon several times over the years, but have never tried the VIP experience, considering it this year.

    Thanks!

One tip : check with guest relations on about day 4 of the first week to make sure they show you as consecutive cruiser. Otherwise, you will not receive the letter regarding the changeover process. We have done multiple b2b and you would be surprised how often, despite checking on online correctly, and verifying everything with RCI before we sailed, the ship did not show us as b2b.

Just confirming while onboard during week 1 saves a lot of hassle.

    Enjoy!

Just curios if we should notify anyone in advance of sailing?

We booked directly thru Royal Caribbean (did not use a travel agent)  and booked the same cabin for back to back Mariner sailings next month.Once on board, I planed to go down to guest relations & make them aware that we are consecutive cruisers.

But I was just wondering if there is any way to notify them in advance? Thanks!

  9. Thanks for the info. The TA I always book with shows OBC & specialty dinning, but I would also like pre paid gratuities if I can get it. I'll be booking 3 cabins as we gave our kids this cruise for Christmas. Just hoping the cabin cost doesn't go up !

I don’t know if it’s ok to ask this, but would u share the name of the travel agent u have been considering? We feel overwhelmed trying to choose a TA

  10. Curious if western Caribbean was the cruise you booked, or if you have the re-routed western Caribbean (which was st Maarten/ San Juan when originally booking)

IF , this is an updated itinerary for you, can you please tell us what nights were the formal nights ?

We're on the oasis next week and originally planed for nt 2 to be a formal night (but at the time it was a sea day ) we're wondering if that changed at all now that it's a port day for us

    Thanks 😀

  11. Thanks Thrifty I was wondering the same thing! I asked because we had purposely booked a specialty dinner on formal night, if the nights were going to change, we were going to change our dinner reservation. Thanks to all those that tried to give info!

Yet another thanks! We have the EXACT same question for the Oct 8th sailing on the Oasis & we're questioning it for the same reason, we booked 150 Central Park for formal night & think that due to the change of itinerary the formal night will be changed. We think this because we are not scheduled to depart Nassau until around 7pm (can't remember the exact time, but I know it's late) so I doubt the captain's gala formal night will be happening at the same time as Nassau sail away

We took a gamble and guessed which night formal night will become, but it was just that, a guess.

But count me in as one who very much cares when it will be :D

  12. I'm also curious if they have it onboard?

We're flying in , then taking a bus to the port, so I don't "need" it badly enough to risk flying it in my checked luggage (or buying much at airport prices), but I do enjoy coconut water and am interested in knowing if the bars onboard have it? (Oasis in particular

    Thanks!

  13. I don't have any pictures, but the bungalows are located at Columbus Cove --- at the far end. They were an option on our Oasis cruise two weeks ago, but we chose a beach bed on Adrenaline Beach, since there were only 2 of us, and they are cheaper. Great access to the new floating bar......

    mac_tlc

Mac_tlc , could you give me any more information on renting the beach bed on Adrenaline Beach - we noticed this as an option to rent, but we can not find much information on it

Specifically (and I apologize if this sounds like an odd question) but what stops other (confused) guests from thinking these are "up for grabs" and climbing right in while we are in the water, ect? ... based on the photos, it seems like these are just sitting on adrenaline beach (not as if they only have private access or anything like that) - Hahaha , if we were to return from the bar or the water to find other guests lounging in our bed (and getting sand everywhere) that will greatly sadden me.

I'm sure no one would do so on purpose, but I could easily envision someone thinking they are just up for grabs

Any other thoughts / tips regarding the bed rental would also be appreciated - Thanks!

  14. Hello all,

I was looking for some experiences from those that have recently used the Royal Caribbean bus transfers to get to/from Orlando MCO to Port Canaveral (for day of sailing/day of departure)

We have not sailed Royal in the past few years (4+) , but on previous voyages/ports we had always used RC to transport us from the airport to the ship, and had always found the transition smooth/easy.

However, as of recent, I've read a few horror stories from those using RC out of Orlando (read of people waiting around for hours and hours and arriving at the ship every late in the day despite flying in early in the morning) . My heart goes out to those people & that frustrating encounter, but I'm curious if that is the norm or a rare flute

Personally, I know when I have an experience go smooth & uneventful, I don't often think to make a comment on it. So I'm wondering how many (if at all) have had a smooth/uneventful bus transfer experience?

As a side note: as of recent times we are more used to sailing Disney & are always pleased with their smooth/ easy bus transfer service. The last time we sailed Royal, we recall the bus transfers being equally as smooth/easy as Disney's service. So if that info helps anyone to draw a comparison for me, it would be most helpful

    Thanks!

  15. What are the odds of falling into the water? I'm sure (similar to a jet ski or any other water sport) that it is possible, but I'm hoping that maybe due to the shape & the fact that you control your own vessel that you often are able to stay on board? Has anyone that has done this personally, fallen in?

Also, do you control your speed? or just direction?

  16. We will use RCI transfers, as well.

I, like many others, are very familiar with Orlando (but for Disney purposes) . And like others, I'd prefer pay a touch more and have the peace of mind of letting RCI drive me ( just a personal preference, I appreciate all the great recommendations, but for me , I'm going to let Royal Caribbean drive us this time)

But I do still have a few questions that I would LOVE to have answered if anyone could help :

As previously asked (but I didn't find an answer) : Our flight lands @ 9am, will I be sitting on the bus for a long period of time waiting for it to full up, or at this time of morning, will it be a quick process?

My second & more essential question is regarding our checked luggage ... how does this work? Do we retrieve it from baggage claim & bring it to the Royal Caribbean bus, or is there anything (similar to Disney's Magic Express) that takes care of our checked luggage for us?

(we are Emerald Crown & Anchor members, but happen to have not sailed Royal for almost 5 years & have only ever sailed Disney out of Port Canaveral, so I entirely forget how the royal transfers work)

    Thanks!
