How do you know the call wasn't made by an in-house meteorologist working in Carnival Ops.

    From a Washington Post article...

Carnival said in a statement that the weather was unexpectedly strong, causing conditions that were rougher than forecast, but that its fleet operations center team, which relies on outside meteorology resources for itinerary planning, “coordinated to keep the ship in its safest location.”

I do agree with this, although I was on the Liberty. I did the 3 meal dining package (Chops, Giovanni's, Sabor) and I actually thought the MDR was better than any meal I had on the dining package...which is absurd.

I will be going on Allure and am curious to how the complimentary food is there, compared to what I had complimentary on the Liberty. While at this point I would say NCL is so much better in regards to food, maybe doing another RCI cruise will change my mind.  I won't pay for another specialty dining meal on RCI though.

    Let's see...

Boardwalk Dog House -- It was okay, but they have a much smaller selection of dogs and topping now than before. I thought that the Windjammer had better options for toppings.

Sorrentos -- This was the usual Sorrentos pizza. Good not great.

Cafe Promenade -- The sandwiches there were pretty good. This is also where you get Starbucks coffee on the drink package, so that line was usually pretty long

    Windjammer -- Meh

Solarium Bistro -- Marginally better than Windjammer, but still bland

Park Cafe -- best breakfast and lunch in our opinion, but lines can get long

Wipeout Cafe -- only had french fries there, but they were good.

  3. From what we were told on Allure last week none of the Oasis class have brought back their second production shows yet. On Allure, at least, it meant that they were only showing "Mamma Mia", the primary aqua show and the primary ice show.

This is primarily because they just don't have the staffing to do both show. For instance, the second production show requires riggers for aerial sequences and because of the pandemic many of the riggers found work in other fields.

So what? Why add to panic and anxiety.

So what? Let's see, she got off the ship on the 2nd and had until the 8th had felt well. Covid-19 has an incubation period of between 5 and 11 days... So she absolutely could have caught it somewhere on the cruise or in New Orleans. And considering that she was Hancock counties first positive case it's pretty likely it didn't come from the community.

And considering that my family boarded the Wonder on the 2nd there certainly was a level of concern. There was no news on the Wonder until they debarked in CA and reported all clean so until that time and until our own 14 day check came clean it was valid to be concerned. It's not adding to panic and anxiety, but if it makes you feel better to label it as such then so  be it.

  5. We just got off of the Wonder and beers were pretty much $7 for a mug refill regardless of bar. We have mugs from a decade ago that were still accepted. 😀

If you're asking about particular brands then it was Abita heavy as she was sailing from New Orleans. Cove bar had Longboard, mid-ship pool bar had Stella, New Orleans bar was all Abita, Cadillac Lounge had Kronenbourg, and pub had Newcastle. That's pretty much what I remember. There was also a good selection of domestics and IPAs.

We were going to "Minnie Van" it over from Yacht Club to Animal Kindgom (about a 10 min trip that we have done before). Already have fast passes, but I was hoping to rope drop for Flight of Passage. I already did the online room check in, so I would just need to drop my bags and request the Minnie. Park opens at 9am that day and my thought would be that I would need to at least be off the ship through customs by 7:00. Just curious if that is at all possible.Lots of moving parts for sure!

By 9 A.M. last Saturday the line for Flight of Passage was already 105 minutes. The gates typically open 45 minutes before park opening and Pandora itself 15 to 30 minutes before. Last Saturday we queued at the gates at 7:45 A.M. and were near the front of the line. The gates opened at 8:15 and we were again near the front of the staging area by Tiffin's. They walked us Flight of Passage around 8:40 and we were done by 9:00. By which time the line was 105 minutes.

Arrival of the Harmony that morning is 6:00 A.M. and the ship should be cleared by 7. So if you plan well you can be off by 7:30.  If you were on the road by 7:30 the earliest you could expect to be at Yacht Club (or DAK for that matter) is 8:30.

Basically, if you're not at DAK and in line at the gates by 8:00 you're probably out of luck.

  7. Royal Caribbean’s policy allows for decorations, but states that nothing can be used “which may be deemed by ship management as inappropriate.” And, as stated above, in general you should not use anything that would damage the door. Magnets work great on the stateroom doors.

PC will use barges. They will come down from Savanna.  PC will also use LNG for the space program.  We are very used to handling very cold liquid fuel. The Jacksonville fuel is dedicated to cargo vessels

And those barges can also potentially go to Miami.
