Thank you so much for answering Madera1. it's a 25 euro test vs the 160 euro test for the PCR.
Thank you!

Hello, I want to understand the covid testing required by Seabourn. Is the 15 min. antigen acceptable like the one they use to administer pier side prior to boarding?
If so, this would make things cheaper and easier than having to take the PCR test.
I appreciate your help in clarifying.
Thank you!

We are on the Encore embarking July 17th and received the notice that we will now sail out of Port Marghera. As stated previously, we are to check in at the Venice Cruise Terminal and then we will be transfer to the ship. I guess this allows them to arrive in Vodice, Croatia two hours early.
I'm praying we don't have anything to prevent us from sailing!

Thank you Hank for the updates. We have made it to Barbados and waiting for our Covid test results. I do want to report our experience using the Five Star Fast Track. It appears there is more than one company that will 'fast track' you through airport. At first we were a bit disappointed because we didn't get through the first hurdle ( getting our wrist bands ) quickly. We arrived with several other planes, but our assistant did help us greatly as to what papers we needed and when, plus we were able to skip several lines after the initial stop. Our assistant had us skip the taxi line too which was great. She also told us that KLM has resumed flights from Amsterdam today which added to the congestion.
For those of you who arrive on a week day when the airport is more quiet, a fast track service may not be necessary but we were very grateful to have it today.

This is great news Hank. I was wondering and confused since everyone has been saying Seabourn has not been stopping at the BVIs all along. Yet, Seabourn is still offering excursions for the Tortola stop. That had to be crazy to be the first ship to stop in 18 months. It sounds like we will be able to go over to Virgin Gorda after all.
We passed our first of three Covid tests, just two more to go! See you Sunday. 😁

This week on the Odyssey we have 135 passengers and about 350 crew. Amazing! We have been told that the numbers are increasing and they expect well over 350 in November.

Hi Hank,
We will be boarding next week. We are nervous about the 3 tests required before we can board ( because we are arriving Saturday to Barbados ) but feeling confident. Do you think the passenger number will remain the same for next week too?
Look forward to seeing you and being on the Odyssey!
See you soon!

Good to know Cruiseej! Thank you for letting me know.
We don't board until Oct. 17 and praying all goes smoothly in spite of Barbados having 'high risk' and do not travel here designation.
Hope all of those currently on board are having a grand time!

On the one week Caribbean cruises, there is one formal night per week. On last week's cruise, I saw one white dinner jacket and one or two tuxes; most other men were wearing suits or sport coats.
Thank you Cruiseej for your reply. We are trying to decide if we want to dress up for the formal night. Thank you!

Yes, people are still dressed up for formal nights. I saw anything from a sport coat w/no tie, to white dinner jackets and bow ties.
Thank you Jeffbrig for replying to my question on whether people were still dressing up. Greatly appreciated!

We board Oct. 17 for two weeks. It sounds like the ship is filling up.
I have searched this thread but have not found any mention about formal nights. Are people dressing up for them?
Thank you!

Thank you Borna! Every detail helps. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer everyone's questions.

@Borna, if you are still reading the Seabourn boards, would you please confirm what I think you stated earlier in this thread. I'm interested in what you did to help expedite your Barbados airport arrival test. You uploaded the BIMSafe app showing your 72 hr prior to arriving negative test, you typed out your name, and email address for the Barbados arrival test results to be sent, and had your original vaccination card.
Did I miss anything? Is there something else you would suggest to help make this process go smoothly?
We all appreciate your input and information.
Thank you!

@Princesscruiser: Yes! Thank you for the update and I'm really happy to hear they had the caviar in the surf. I hope we get the chance.
@cruiseej: we are booked on the catamaran sail in Bequia, however we are on the Oct. 17th departure. Borna mentioned earlier that Seabourn cancelled the stops at Jost Van Dyke & Tortola and had a marina day off Peter Island. I have not seen any mention of whether this will continue.
BTW... I emailed the resort we are staying pre cruise, Sugar Bay resort, about their rule on quarantine. We are allowed out of our rooms but can not use the spa or fitness center which is a relief. I was also told the significance of the red wrist band vs the green is that red indicates the person has not been vaccinated. I'm assuming the person mentioned in this thread was vaccinated since he/she was boarding Seabourn, but that is one mess up.

Thank you Cruiseej for letting me know. Sadly flights being cancelled or rescheduled as been an issue all year. I've been trying to be added to the Seabourn Facebook group, but my request keeps disappearing which is frustrating. Hope it gets worked out soon.
Thank you!

Thank YOU Princess Cruiser! Your information is so very valuable and greatly appreciated. Sad to hear those flying into Barbados yesterday didn't make it. I assume this was due to weather?
We will plan to have all our papers in order. Fingers crossed! Good idea about having the resort arrange your transportation from the airport. I had planned to arrange our own.
Hope you are able to dodge all of the tropical storms out there and have a fantastic time!
Happy Sailing!

@Cruiseej, Thank you for the information. I will watch closely to see if the BVI's are dropped for the October cruises as well. We board on Oct. 17 for 2 weeks.

@Borna, Did Seabourn actually stop at Jost Van Dyke? My husband and are confused because the only two excursions offered during that stop is to Norman Island and Virgin Gorda which is on the other side of Tortola from there. Was this your experience? Were you allowed on the island of Jost Van Dyke on any type of excursion? I appreciate any information you can offer.
Or if anyone else who has been on this cruise can answer my questions, I would be so grateful
Thank you so much!!

@Borna, Like all the others on this thread, we are so very grateful for you postings and reporting on your cruise. Your information is so very valuable to all of us who are hoping to cruise this fall.
@PrincessCruiser, I hope, like I'm sure everyone else is, you'll report your experiences too. I think we are all anxious and hope to have smooth "sailing" on our Barbados cruise. We will be staying one night on Barbados prior to boarding Seabourn like you. Now my biggest worry is getting our Covid test back within 24 hours so we don't have to fight the hotel about leaving for the ship. I hope you don't have any problems
I hope all goes well! and Have fun!!
