  1. I received an email about my booking that included this line:

"Select an arrival time to the pier on the MedallionClass app. For the health and safety of all, do not arrive prior to your assigned check-in time or you will be asked to return at the correct time."

I see no way to select an arrival time on the app. I'm about 1 week out from my cruise.

There is an "Arrivals" menu item under "Suggested" below my Personal Information section, but when I click on it I just get a blank gray page.

Assuming this never works, what time should I show up at the pier on embarkation day? (with ship departure of 4pm)

  2. I ordered the drink package when I bought my ticket, but had a couple questions:

It sounds like that package (Plus Beverage Package) includes soft drinks, plus alcoholic beverages, plus coffees, etc. If I go to a restaurant and order a drink with the meal, does the beverage package cover that drink?

Also, if I'm on the ship somewhere and order a drink and it's brought to me, is it customary to tip the person who brings the drink? (It looks like you're already paying an 18% gratuity)

  3. I'll be on the upcoming 12 day cruise on the Royal Princess. I've been snorkeling in Hawaii, but never in Mexico. We'll be going to Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, Mazatlán and Cabo San Lucas. Has anyone gone snorkeling in any of these areas? Is it good visibility and worth the cost? Good sea life to view?

I haven't decided yet whether to go on a ship excursion or book something myself.

    Any thoughts appreciated.

Beware of the soda package. They bring a fountain poured soda and it may not be what you want. I can tell the difference between regular coke vs diet. It's usually watered down with melted ice.

I don't tip again. Princess took all the guess work out of tipping when they went with the auto daily tipping suggestions which can be adjusted at guest services.

When you say "they bring" I assume that's for room service, but if I get the soda package can I get sodas/smoothies at the restaurants as well?

  5. From what I've read so far, mini-suites do not have coffee makers in the rooms. (Diamond Princess).

I'm thinking about getting the soda package but it does not include hot chocolate, and I'm not enough of a coffee drinker to get the coffee package.

Can I have room service deliver a carafe of hot water to the room and just bring my own cocoa mix?

Also, if room service brings things to your room, do you tip or is that included in the daily tips thing?

    Thanks
