We have seen flying fish, rays, and dolphins. But the most unique thing we saw was a water spout. Had never seen one it was really cool!

Usually the birth certificates are returned in a separate mailing from the passports, often returning a week after the passports.
True. I was just concerned that they were going in 3 weeks and if they sends off for the passports and do not get the birth certificates back they might be out of luck.
-
Just remember, you have to give the passport office the birth certificates when you apply. They send them back with the passport.

Fortunately, there are two of us that are dealing with the details! That way we can commiserate with each other :p
But I think we have it all sorted out now. Turns out we are at two 72" oval tables right by each other - those should be comfortable for 8-9 people.
And hopefully, no more late additions to the group - I think we're running out of additional friends & family anyways!
Don't worry, there are no more relative to come out of the wood works! It was not that hard to work out, Karen called her TA and I called ours and the linking was taken care of. Yes it would have been easier if we used ya'lls TA. But we saved almost $500 by doing it this way!

We have a group of family/friends on the July 27th NOS cruise.
Thanks to advice from Clarea (Bob?), we emailed RCCL dining directly, and just today they confirmed a nice 14 person table for us!
I was surprised and pleased that they confirmed it this far out.
Now the glitch - an additional couple just booked the cruise. AND - they booked it through a different TA. :(
I was wondering whether anyone knows if linking reservations made through different TA's is a problem? Has anyone done this? Obviously, they aren't going to be pleased if we can't get them seated with us.
I know we can always talk to the maitre d' when we board the ship, but prefer not to wait like that with a large group.
We are on this trip and I do believe my DH and I are the added couple and my Aunt is the other add on! Marge, I am Becky, Karen's sister! Sorry to have caused so much trouble! But I haven't seen my sister in 2 years and wanted to celebrate with her!

Ok so when we were in the Caymans on our cruise the other week, I swear the was a cruise that was tendering their passengers over on what appeared to be the life boats. I can't remember the ship....One I had never heard of but I found it odd when the other folks were coming on the big tenders. Has anyone else seen this?
We were on the ship with you! It was a Princess ship that was using their lifeboats.

That would be Half Moon Cay. We did it a few years ago. It was great! A little scarry when we went into the water, but it is an experience I will never forget!

No Guys???:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Cross that ship off the list.....
WOW.
Really. I am shocked.
All of the 2.0 drydocks seem to be getting Guys.
Why not Legend?
Anyone?
No Guys on the Legend because she is going to Australia soon.

No steakhouse. Inside and ocean view cabins do not have fridges. Don't know about balconies or suites, never been in one on this ship!

Titanic II, not a good movie at all but good for a laugh. 100 years after the Titanic sinking a new Titanic sails the same route and gets hit by a iceberg. So bad.

Thanks for those who celebrate with us! I noticed as others posted they had won, it was nice to have some sort of awareness that there were CC community members who were winners of this contest. Therefore, I posted our news.
Lyndamr, I can appreciate your point that Carnival gives away money that can be used within their business to generate more income from those who receive the gift card. I did not win a $1000 check. I won $1000 to spend within their company. I am no idiot. I have a Masters Degree, and am a member of Mensa. I understand how marketing works. I am also aware enough to know how scams work.
I do feel confident that I will receive my prize. I don't consider Carnival to be a scamming company, and that they will deliver what they have promised. I read the Rules of the Sweepstakes prior to ever entering, and feel confident that they will deliver as promised. I do not believe I have been scammed by another party. First, if this is a scam, they went to a lot of effort to make it look legit, which is not impossible I'll admit. But secondly, and most importantly, why would they scam me? They have gained nothing if this is a third-party scam. I have not sent in any "processing fees" or given them my checking account information as is common in scams. I have education and experience in the Information Technology field, and am often called upon to consult on issues that are technology-related, including safe uses of the internet, and scams to avoid. While I won't say that I am immune from such an attack, this had none of the obvious characteristics of such a scam.
When I receive my prize, I will make a point to post here that it has been received. Should it come with any previously-unknown strings attached, I will gladly admit that, and post that here as well. From your postings here, you strike me as a glass-half-empty person, where I'm seeing it as $1000 full.
For those who celebrate with us, please know this is looking for more than just a vacation. Our youngest child, recently turned 2 years old, was born with significant birth defects and given less than a 20% chance of survival. During his hospitalization, our family had to make sacrifices. These sacrifices meant spending a lot less time with our other children, missing their events, and foregoing planned times together such as some summer vacation times and Spring Break. It also meant that, once home, we couldn't easily travel with our youngest having the medical conditions that he had.
As time has gone on, his health is improving, and we are now to a point that we feel comfortable traveling with him. To be able to take ALL of our children on a cruise will be an answered prayer, and something we shall celebrate as more than just a simple vacation. We do not make tons of money, and we will likely only be able to afford to do this once during their childhoods. Winning this sweepstakes really sealed the deal that we can scrape together the rest of the money so that we can make this happen.
I look forward to posting a report one day of our vacation, and how much of a joy it was to spend all that time together.
So happy you won! Sounds like you all deserve a vacation.

really? Was this necessary?
This person has been saying this on any thread about the carnival contest. I won also and the $1000 will go along way to help us with a vacation. Don't know why some people have to be so negative.

Pretty sure it's the Springhill Suites just off Stirling Road in Dania Beach/Fort Lauderdale since that was the last one that was being specifically asked about and the description fits.
Thanks. I was not sure.

We have stayed at this hotel the last two cruises and have it booked for our cruise 2-16-13. The rooms we had were like a small suite, separate room with couch, chair, sink, fridge, desk, then bed and bathroom. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. There was a good selection for breakfast, hot & cold. The pool area was nice, didn't swim as it was a little cool. Was given warm cookies and bottles of water at check-in. There is a shopping mall across a busy street with several fast food places, and across from the mall is a KMart. There's a Wendys (if I remember correctly) right next to the hotel. We haven't went any further than what we could walk in this area. I am hoping to maybe get down to Dania Beach in Feb. And check it out. We are arriving early afternoon. I booked this room on lastminutetravel this time and I think if was around $120. We will use the free shuttle from the airport and then will use QLS shuttle to get us down to POM. I think you will be more than happy with this hotel for a pre cruise stay!! Hope your family has a great cruise.
Just curious, what hotels are you talking about?

These are cool! I have used the Sally Hansen ones meant for fingernails on my toes. I can get two uses on my toes out of a pack meant for one use on fingernails. My 15 yo son asked me if I was having a mid-life crisis because I had pink polka dots on my toes!

Yea, you have to go under the bridge. I freaked out a little when I saw it, but at 5' tall, I was able to pretty much stand up, just ducking a little. Not too bad at all.
Ok it looked a little tight. I am only 5'4" so maybe I won't have a problem.
Thanks for your response and your graet review.
-
By the way, the water was freezing! You got used to it though after climbing for a while.
Is that a bridge you have to go under? Looks like I would get claustrophobic.
I am enjoying your review. My DH and I are leaving soon on the same trip and can't wait. Your pictures are great.

If you use royals transport they will wait for you, or so I've heard. Good luck. We are on the same sailing as you but are flying in a day early.
