  1. Hi there! We will be in Curacao in April, and we are in port from 8am to 9pm, so we were considering this tour as well. I requested the tour info from Irie, and here is what I got back last week:

How many of you want to join us? We can do the Beach Hopping tour to the West side of the Island with a minimum of 6 people. This tour is $65 per person and includes Beer, Soft drinks, water, the entrance fee at the beaches and the entrance fee at Boka Tabla, which is a park with 7 caves.

If you don’t have 6 people, you can do the East Side Tour. I will give you a short tour description…

First we drive over the Juliana Bridge, where you will have a great view of Willemstad. Then we pass through the old Jewish neighborhood, you will see all the old Jewish Mansions that are being restored. We also visit the Curacao Liquor distillery, here you can see how the ‘Blue Curacao’ is made and taste the different flavors. After the distillery we go to the Spanish water area, which is a beautiful residential area in the Spanish Water Bay. The last stop will be at the Curacao Sea Aquarium Beach, we stay here for 1 hour.

This tour is $20 per person and includes unlimited beer, soft drinks and bottled water during the tour AND the entrance fee to the beach.

Since we don't have 6 people in our group and the Roll Call is pretty much dead for our sailing (it's a Colon sailing), I guess we will be taking the East Side tour. I hope you have better luck :)

  2. Hi, Sasha! I didn't remember that statute, specifically, so I check more. That interesting piece of art is located somewhat west of the main, historic town and that wasn't on the walking path that we took. Sorry, doesn't seem you would see it on this tour. To be honest, our time in Budva was fairly limited and rushed. I would have trimmed out some earlier stops/timing to have allow more time in both Budva and Kotor. Overall, I'm still glad we did this tour and it was a good value for the cost.

    THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Thanks for your response, Terry! I am reading through your review of the Solstice Cruise right now, and I have to say that your pictures are just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing them! Your review definitely makes me look forward to my November cruise even more!

    Sasha :)

  3. We had another great photo stop route to Budva, with spectacular views of the Adriatic Sea. Budva is the oldest settlement on the coast, 2500 years old. The old town is surrounded by ramparts from the XV century including a medieval fortification system with city gates, defense walls and towers. Inside the walls, the town is a combination of narrow streets and squares with interesting churches, etc. Today, Budva and nearby are booming and growing tourism destinations with theatre, festivals and celebrations options. We then headed back to Kotor for a walk-through of the UNESCO protected Old town of Kotor before returning to the ship. Free time and shopping potentials were limited. That’s fine in my book. I took about 400 plus pictures and you will see later how wonderful were the great views. The drive to the village of Njegusi is along a road with twenty-five hairpin turns.* Glad I wan’t doing the driving here.

Terry, thank you for the review! I am going to be on Solstice in November for the same cruise. I was also considering the same Celebrity tour while in Kotor. I have a quick question... While in Budva, did the tour make a stop by the Dancing Girl Statue on the waterfront?

    Thank you!

    Sasha
