  1. Dem920,

Check the Roll Calls All River Cruises board. There is a post there re the A Rosa Danube Delta cruise July 30 by Cindy.

I am on the July 31st sailing from Bucharest to Passau on the Silva. I don't think the OP is on that sailing, mine is a North American offering.

All the reviews have been excellent but ARosa is trying to break into the North American market and their admin here is really nice but I think they have to really work on their "polish". Even my agent said their marketing set up is totally weird.

I am just counting on a wonderful cruise experience and trying to overlook the shoreside experience!

  2. You are on the second half of my cruise. I leave initially from Amsterdam on September 25th. October 8th is the turnover day for people who aren't doing the entire voyage.

I, too, will miss my fur babies terribly but I know they will be well cared for by their brother (my son). My job can be mentally exhausting so I've decided to take a sabbatical every couple years and decompress. Even though I'm going to be cruising for four weeks I'm thinking about flying up to Prague and checking it out on my way back. :)

The first half of the voyage has some places I've been before so I'll be lazy and just be putting around in those towns rather than taking tours. The two weeks you are onboard will be all new to me.

Is there a roll call for this trip? I tried looking but the river cruise roll call boards were such a disaster I lost patience and gave up. If there is can you give me the link? If not, maybe we should start one. :)

That's great news Becky! I am on deck 4 - 406. Not that we will miss each other on this small boat!!! ;) I am stopping in Prague before the cruise and then thinking of taking the train to Vienna .... we'll see. I spent a week in Vienna last year and had a day in Budapest but everything else will be new too. I am getting off in Bucharest and not going to Istanbul. I actually was planning to see the Crimea before flying home but ......... :(

    I started a Roll Call

Looking forward to meeting you and hopefully some folks from CC onboard! Nice to know that another solo will be onboard!

  3. Hey cindilouwho - are you on my ship? I'm doing the two weeks before also. Amsterdam to Vienna and then Vienna to Bucharest. I'm skipping Istanbul also.

I recognize your name from the Azamara boards. Aren't you a solo traveler also?

Hi Becky! Yes I am travelling solo (as per usual). My cruise leaves on October 8 from Vienna to Bucharest. When are you going? I don't think I could handle the 29 days on board - I would miss the grandkids too much (and my husband, Miracle the cat).......

What cruise date are you on?

  4. We are on the Gem on Monday and looking at the deck plans I see that the top deck is divided into a public sun deck and a private sun deck. What's the difference?

    ...Ott

The private sundeck is for Haven guests. We are sailing with you on Monday and can not wait to get the heck out of DODGE....just got a foot of snow ..... we ARE SO DONE!

We are in Haven so - see you when on board ... don't forget to go on the Roll Call for the Meet and Greet. And the cabin Crawl!

  5. Wait a few weeks and I'll get back to you. Leaving 3/28 for Castles on the Rhine, 3/30 to 4/6! Not that we are counting the days or anything...;)

HA!! Have a wonderful voyage! I am trying to escape this nasty nasty weather too....doing a 9 day out of NY in 2 weeks....but who's counting either!!!!!

I will be waiting to hear from you....

  6. From the deeply frozen tundra in the Great White North......a wish to all for peace, joy, happiness, health and an abundance of ALL good things!

We have no power, no water .... many of the beautiful trees Toronto has been famous for are gone, and no heat but we are thankful that the storm passed without loss of life and we all still here, ready to greet the New Year with dreams of traveling well and often - hopefully soon back on wonderful Azamara!

May your celebrations be merry and bright ---- visions of sugarplums dancing and blah, blah, blah ..... you know!!! :D

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

  7. Hello Cindilouwho -

Thank you for your Thanksgiving Day wishes from Canada!

Hopefully, we'll be welcoming you onboard sometime in the future!

    Best regards,

    Hi Bill .....

I am back onboard as soon as I find an itinerary that I like. Azamara is my first choice for cruising, ALWAYS AND FOREVER! Just need something juicy to whet my appetite.

Also - you need to lead the way in making it easy for singles to get onboard. 200% doesn't feel good .... there's a market out there for those of us who don't play well, in close proximity, with others !!! :o

  8. New photo!!

Just enjoy life (I know you do)

    Make every day a holiday

Hope to sail with you some day.

    Hey Laraine!

Surgery on Dec 10! After a month I will post a photo of the new IMPROVED me with NO turkey neck.

This Thanksgiving I am NOT pardoning the turkey living below my chin!!!!!!!! :D

Come down the river with me next year!!!

  9. Don't expect any significant increase in your stateroom unless you are in PH or above. The verandah cabins are beautiful and new but no larger than those on the R ships. Most, if not all, of the sq. footage increase went into the BRs, which are noticeably larger (and much nicer).

You'll love the food for sure :D

    Hey There Paul!!!

I am here now too --- made the jump from AZ and going on the Marina with 12 of my closest CC friends in June to the Baltic! Wish you could join us!

The staterooms with the verandah look like they are the same size as the Club Continent suites on the R ships. Big bathrooms work for me ..... love the tub!

Can't wait to compare AZ and O for myself. Also saw your posts on Flyertalk....man you are all over the place.

    C'hag Samech!

  10. Azamara has quite a few itineraries on sale for singles.....25% surcharge on all categories. They are also doing free upgrades, from inside to outside, outside to balcony and balcony to suite.

OBC is $250.00 and there is a low air supplement.

I find AZ and it's amenities great. I have a hard time spending my OBC because everything is included. Tips, wine and specialty restaurants (in the suite)...... will just HAVE to use it on a spa treatment :D
