Question.   Do you hear any odd noises with having the lifeboats and davits outside / below your balcony?   just wondering when all quiet at night and laying in bed if there will be any unusual noises in the cabins.   I am looking at booking 6658.   Thank you for sharing your video.

No, we did not have any extra noise at all with the lifeboats or people down below walking on the deck. I find the sliding door is really good at soundproofing eternal noise.

What itinerary are you looking at? If you need any more help let me know. This room has a larger balcony then some of the because the room is wider than longer.

Thanks so much for the video of your room.  Once you are sailing it doesn't seem too bad.  i.e. it looks better with the water in the background vs the port

We researched this room before we booked it. The Lifeboat in front of this room is a little shorter so it does not come up and block the balcony as much.

Also the room shape is a little different. more of a square instead of a long rectangle

  3. I'm an agent, and all I need to do is log into the supplier web site, I put in the credit card info, hit confirm and it's instantly applied.

Now that being said, I prefer to do this the day before to avoid and web site errors, I would never want to be responsible for my client losing out due to "technical errors".

I usually  remind my clients a month in advance and then a week prior as well so no one is surprised.

Not that I know of.  We are also on board.

For those asking about menus,  download the Royal app.  You can find menus their.  Ate at Jamie's the othe night.  Very good.  We have food allergies and other issues and they worked with us.  Dessert plank was crazy!

This dessert plank intrigues me. What is on it?😀

I would pick 6258 solely based on location. 6658 is too close to the smoking bus stop on deck 5.  It is the rectangle between the lifeboats.  The other cabins are too far forward for me on Anthem.  We find Anthem has a lot of movement forward.  We have found it is a lot smooth ride aft.

Edit:  I would google 6258 and 6658, there are videos of both.  I change my mind, I wouldn't book 6258, it only has a chair, not a sofa.  Really nice balcony though.

Thanks so much for your advice!!

  6. I use a wheelchair for long distances, and a cane for shorter - I also would recommend in your situation a knee scooter.

Some things people don't think about when they don't need a wheelchair, such as; being able to fit in smaller places and shopping with no defined rows would be much easier with a knee scooter than a full chair. Also being able to 'see' your choices at a buffet would be easier when you are not sitting down. You may need help with your plate but you can help yourself much better when you can get close enough to serve yourself. Independence may be lost a bit but you will be able to do more with a knee scooter than going in the direction that the person pushing decides. Also, one final point, with a wheelchair it gets lonely. The person pushing you cannot hear you well so you will have to turn around to chat and that gets tiring and lonely, if given an option I would take the scooter to a wheelchair any day but in my situation, I don't have an option. I would suggest you not get a motorized scooter - I feel you would need the practice to drive these and the Caribbean is not a good place learn it plus some of the sidewalks are narrow and hard to navigate.

I wish you the best of luck in healing that sounds painful!

  7. I went on this hike last February (LOVED it).

As we were prepping for the hike, lots of people started spraying bug repellent on. The guide told everyone that there are no mosquitos on the island so we were wasting our time. Many kept spraying because it made them feel more comfortable, but I decided I was carrying some in my pack, and if I wanted to I could apply at any time, so I would hold off. Basically, I knew I would be sweating and rubbing my face and I didn't want it running in my eyes from sweat or the back of my hand. I kind of doubt there are none on the island, but on the 3 hours spent in the bush I did not receive one single bite. I was quite happy with this since mosquitos typically do NOT avoid me.

  8. I currently have a cruise booked for February. There is a chance I might need to cancel this cruise due to a surgery that might be scheduled during that time. I will find out the date of surgery within the month. What happens to the NCC? Do I loose it or am I able to use that same certificate again at the later time?

I have the booking with a travel agent, so if I am able to cancel do I need to use the same TA for the future booking or can I use someone else?

    Thanks so much!
