Can anyone share any positive or negative experiences with either cruise lines? I am working on booking a Nile River cruise, looking to see which cruise line to choose.

AMA Waterways are specific on the cruise inclusions except on the stateroom amenities. Whereas Viking is vague on the cruise inclusions and specific on the stateroom amenities.

Does AMA Waterways stock the fridge daily and provide room service as an example?

Any other comments would be great.

Just booked the 18DEC23 Silver Cloud 18-day trip. My wife is sensitive to motion sickness. I experienced sea sickness one time on a cruise sailing the Alaskan Bay at bedtime. Went to sleep. It was over.

With the cost, we decided to see it all. We are excited about the cruise. It will be the cruise of a lifetime. We never gave it a second thought.

Hi all, next week we be all be leaving to start our cruise from Athens. Has anyone chose a pre-cruise stay with transfers?

Upon arrival at the airport, where did Viking meet you for pickup? Did the pick-up go smoothly? Is there anything we should know before hand?

Was there any communications from Viking besides the travel documentation about the transfer?

Is there anything that would helpful after the hotel stay for the transfer to the ship?

Thanks for all the excellent suggestions. I heard about the St Marks at night in Venice. Need to dig up some of the details. Have been looking for something at night to split up the day. Someone stated that they took the Viking shuttle back midday.

Does Viking offer shuttles back at various times during the day?

Yes will probably spend our time in town except for Katakolon. Will try to take a side trip to Olympia following up with a wandering through town before boarding if time permits.

Even though we have a Pre/Post cruise extensions, time will be short. Want to make sure we do not miss the must do’s without over doing it.

For those of you that have experience with Viking tours any recommendations for these ports?

Our cruise departs on the 8th of NOV. As of yet, Viking has not loaded any cruise tours for selection.

Hi all Viking Cruisers! Wife and I will be cruising from Athens to Venice this fall. Our cruise has 2 night PRE & post port stays.

Besides Athens & Venice ports, additional ports are Katakolon, Corfu, Kotor, Dubrovnik & Split.

We are very excited. Have been reading/watching Rick Steves, Wikipedia, Trip Advisor, Cruise Critic as well as watching as many YOU TUBE videos on places that we can to determine all the different things to see and do.

If you were to do it again, what sites, places or tours did you like or dislike? What impressed you the most and what tours/places would you see or not see. Tours, free & otherwise, any recommendations (worthwhile or not).

Many sites to see in a very short period of time. Would love to hear some of your memorable experiences and suggestions.
