I must say I am embarrassed to post this about my own family. Recently off the Indy stepson had purchased unlimited drink package and drink way too much. He must've had over 20 drinks and was clearly obviously way over his limit. I was really happy that the bartender at the bar he frequented stop giving him drinks and only gave him bottled water but my  stepson was able to bypass this by going to different bars to get more drinks. The five other family members on the trip talked to him constantly about how much he was drinking and tried to get him  to stop drinking and it didn’t work.  He drank for all four days of the trip quite frankly he will ruined it for the other five of us. Even went to get services but I knew as an adult he
can do what he wanted to I asked them if they will be able to put an alert on his card for the bartenders to closely chat before they gave him a drink but they said that was something they couldn't do.  I blame nobody but him for his behavior I only hoped that Royal Caribbean would've been able to help a little bit by putting some kind of information on his set and sail pass as not all bartenders where as able as others chanel his really drunk status.  I am sad embarrassed and not happy with him.

Im really sorry you have to go thru this.  I hope it works out but in the end he is the only one who can help himself

I would cancel the cruise JMHO

If people cancel voluntarily and take the loss that is better for them. They might wait to cancel until we’ve all gotten ourselves to Singapore. By then many people have canceled and taken the loss and they will not have to refund money to those who voluntarily canceled before Azamara did. I hate to be that cynical but if this is about dollars and cents rather than safety and customer service/ loyalty, then that would be the strategy. 😂

in the short term  we are canceling our first Azemera cruise   No way im traveling with these people.  We have taken 36 cruises in the last 10 years had 1 issue and Celebrity took care of it, it took a little work but they more than made up for it ...Azamara ha

I am curious what people who have deposits for the summer but could still largely get a refund are doing, or how they are thinking about it.

Will the risk of quarantine be less as time passes, or is the prudent thing to do to try and get a refund and then wait and see about future travel?

we are  no way  im traveling with theses people.  see  katiebeth's post below that is NO WAY to treat a CUSTOMER!!!

but seems to be the norm.  Am i missing something?   are there any good stories with their handeling of this problem?  sorry if I missed them  but  seems "too bad" from the cruise lines and "It;s not covered" from  the insureance companies

    seemed to be the norm

  4. we booked 3 rooms  for family.  in order to keep booked on board benefit for 2 of the rooms

my wife and I had,   we put her in  a room with our daughter in law  and my son in my room

figuring out we would just change cards.

prob. is my son and daughter in law both want the drink package and

neither my wife or I do.

Would it be as simple as going to guest services and changing rooms?

or is this impossible since we booked the way we did toe get a discount?

    thanks in advance

  5. We are on the Sailing to South Pacific from Oct 20 Would love to know what to expect on talks etc if anyone knows. I can't quite make out if he is on our sailing or not. Many Thanks

I had a similar question once and emailed him and he answered .

Great speaker. We were on two different cruises with him and went to all his talks. On the last night of the 2nd cruise he sat down next to me at in the main theater . I told him how much I enjoyed all of his shows etc. and he smiled, said thank you and put up his glass of wine and we toasted. Great memory from an amazing person.

  6. I recently returned from Crystal Serenity cruise where someone won $72,000 on a video poker machine.

wonder if it was the same person on the Celebrity Infinity West Coast cruise 5.17

A Guy won $40,000 and his wife won $30,000 in one night.

I heard they won over 100k during the cruise but not sure about that.

The Casino Host put the $40k in news letter and when I asked her about

it she told me about his wife winning too

It was also on a video poker machine

  7. What's up guys! I thought some of you out there might find this interesting!

I'm Chris from Liverpool, and I am a crew member onboard the Independence Of The Seas! I work in the Duty Free shops.

If any of you have ever wondered what being a Royal Caribbean crew member is like, give my blog post a read, and let me know if you recognise me or any of my friends.

I talk about my job, social life, travel, and overall ship life.

More importantly, share this with anyone you know who wants to start working on cruise ships - or ask me any questions about Royal Caribbean ships in general. I can give you an honest opinion!

Great Blog ! thanks for sharing

  8. Hi folks-

It's been awhile since we've been on Royal, and I can't find the answer on their website.

Is there a fee for getting play money on your SeaPass at a slot machine?

Same question for chips - is there a fee for purchasing on SeaPass?

We're going on the Oasis next week, if the ship makes a difference.

Thanks so much for your help!

    Wendy

Just got off the Oasis this morning

Casino host looked me up and said since I had at least 1000 points on my last cruise I got free money at the cage and

free drinks. The chart on her desk showed 250 points for the free money at the cage. I played the slots so not sure about chips. You cannot get money from the machine.

    Enjoy your cruise

  9. Currently on Solstice. Spa is really unprofessional. Booked a treatment, showed up on time, they couldn’t find my booking, wait - then therapist blames me (twice) for being late and will have to shorten the treatment by half an hour as a result. This was clearly a tactic to get out of the special they had sold me at embarkation. I explained what happened and then they more or less proceed to basically call me a liar and mock me at the desk thinking I can’t hear what they’re saying. Needless to say I just walked out. Don’t need to pay a ridiculous price to be insulted by Spa staff.

I would go back and get the persons name and send an email to Lutoff-Perlo explaining the situation.

Someone from her staff will get back to you.

They do not tolerate this kind of behavior and they do want to hear about it.

enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Had one real bad experience with a employee on Celebrity and they promi

  10. Hoping someone may know if my favorite casino host *Ralph* is on the Silhouette at this time or in the near future. :) Thanks!

I have no idea but Ralph is the best casino host I had on Celebrity. He was on the equinox last June 2017 but at that time had no idea where he was going next

  11. What would happen if a person was on a free/discounted cruise from the casino and didn't gamble? Would that person's offers never appear again regardless of play on another cruise? I'm going with my sister on her comped cruise in August and I also have another cruise comped in November. I don't really feel like playing heavy in August and may not feel like it in November. However, I'm certainly not retired from casino gaming, I've just got burnt out a bit and want to take it easy for a few months other than sports betting.

I met a guy on a cruise who claimed he did that. He was mad that they wanted 5% at the cage and before it was always free

he said he never got an offer again from that cruise line or any other cruise line since

  12. My family and I have sailed twice this year with Celebrity, and once last year.

Each sailing, a member in our family has recieved an overcharge to their credit card!

The first sailing this year. The charge was $300 extra, due to failing to implement onboard credit that came with our package. Celebrity had assured us throughout the cruise it would be deducted from our bill.

On the second sailing. I settled my bill by cash, but was then charged over four times my original bill on to my credit card.

With United Airlines service, Celebrity has been largely unresponsive and have been unable to provide any real response to the problems. Using a tactic of circumnavigating questions in order to stall the email and phonecall process.

Two months later, I am still attempting to resolve this charge.

Fellow cruisers on board have shared stories related to the poor customer service of Celebrity Cruises.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

On last cruise had a $7.18 charge at one of the bars despite having the drink package.

Guest services took care of it.

    this has happened before

sent a number of emails last week to finally get my OBC and I did point out to them that they

have overcharged me a number of times but never missed billing me.

Email lLutoff-Perlo@celebritycruises.com for best results as she has a staff to resolve issues but remember

she is the CEO who let that web site go live!

I love sailing with Celebrity but dealing with them when there is a problem can be a pain.
