Celebrity Galaxy was Mein Schiff 1 but has now become Marella Explorer (formerly Thompson Cruises) for the U.K. market.
Celebrity Mercury was Mein Schiff 2 but has been renamed Mein Schiff Herz it is being said on the Marella board that it will also be transferred to Marella at some time.

Incidentally Celebrity Century that went to the Chinese market is now Marella Explorer 2.

We are booked on Mein Schiff Herz for january, looks great. All inclusive with premier brand drinks. Fantastic spa and most  special dining inclusive.

  2. Still very disappointed, the price difference between our booked cat. 9 inside on the TA Journey and balcony is now €100 per person, upgrade bids accepted from $1200 per person.

No early booking for us anymore...

If your post is correct, it makes my blood boil, I love the onboard experience but everything before stinks, I make all the bookings, I’m the lead person on our bookings and yet I receive emails on my email account addressed to my husband, I have cruised with my sister on Azamara I also get emails addressed to her.

I have tried to book cruises with Azamara Uk, requested quotes for back to back received nothing, requested call backs nothing, a complete lack of information about changes to upgrade system and loss of perk to loyal members.

I have been been wanting to book another cruise with Azamara for later this year, but I have now decided to wait until I have been on our next cruise, in case the onboard experience is as bad as the service before.

Good luck with your bids boco010, you must be on a winning streak as you at least managed to get an offer. 😀

Not bidding, from $200 pp for outside and $1200 pp for balcony. Dit not receive an email but went to the Azamara site and just tried

  4. Hello Bonny, we already posted pur concerns in another post a few months ago when this cruise already disapearred. But blaming our travelagent for not informing us about the change is not very nice. We booked a  Premium cruise and we receive all kinds off offers through pur email  and you cannot inform is about a change off ports? How much we like Azamara this will be our last, too  many issues the last years. We did receive a change off port from Celebrity for our cruise in 2021! So same company but different rules?

Hi Boco010, and welcome to the forum (at least I haven't noticed your name before.)

Your notification is most likely coming to you via your Travel Professional. In most European countries we are not permitted to contact guests directly. We must abide by each country's travel selling regulations.

We do apologize! Rules and regulations are in unprecedented flux lately. As of very recently we can no longer use Key West as the first port-of-entry into US. This new rule, combined with the multitude of rules we abide by that allow us to call on Cuba, have led to this itinerary correction.

    Here's the letter:

    May 28, 2019

    Dear Azamara Guest,

We hope you’re looking forward to your Westward Journey aboard Azamara Journey as you set out from Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday, November5, 2019.  This letter is to inform you of a recent change to your itinerary.

Due to immigration and border clearance rules we are unable to cruise directly from Bermuda to Key West, Florida then to Havana, Cuba.  This new regulation was recently brought to our attention by government officials.  In order to have an acceptable port sequence we will be replacing our call to Key West on November 18, 2019 with a port of call to Miami, Florida from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Secondarily, the port officials in Bermuda have advised us that due to the sunset rules of the Port of Hamilton, we will need to sail away at 3:30p.m. in order for the ship to be completely out of Bermuda waters before sunset.

We do believe the added opportunities to explore Miami’s historic, artistic, and culinary scene, will be a great experience. Naturally, if you’ve booked and paid for shore excursions in Key West, you’ll receive a full refund. Or, better yet, allow us to apply those charges to experiences in Miami.

In the meantime, should you have any questions, or wish to explore shore excursion opportunities in Miami, or any other port of call, please contact us at 1-855-AZAMARA and press menu option 3.

Thank you for choosing Azamara. We look forward to welcoming you aboard in Barcelona.

    Warm Regards,

Nice to see this here. But we did not receive this.  Poor customer service!

No, that was another cruise under the old terms. There hasn't been an opportunity on next week's cruise as all the categories sold out very suddenly. The cabins were most probably dumped on certain travel agencies. One of which I know packages flights with the cabin.

My guess a lot off Brazilians onboard lol

    Hi Boco010,

I've just had it confirmed that all upgrades for voyages departing this month, March 2019, have already been finalized. Only guests sailing starting in April will need to resubmit their bids using the new system. I apologize for any confusion.

     Thanks you Bonnie

  9. We submitted our Upgrade Form for our cruise march 20th 2019 on 31-10-2017. So now I have to apply again? I tried but got this message:

Sorry - looks like you're not eligible for an upgrade at this time.
Please verify that you meet the eligibility requirements listed below and check again within 90 days of your departure.
Does our original request still apply.......
    Bit confusing

  10. We are booked on TA Journey nov 5th Barcelona to Miami. Cruise is now "sold out" and now I see that on a site (not Azamara) there is very different cruise TA departing nov 10th.(also "sold out") with different ports (no Cuba anymore)

Is there going to be a change (again)?

    Kind regards
