I can recommend some others but these 3 are located close to NYhavn and are rated in top 10 of places to get Smørrebrød.

Thank you again. I will be working on my danish to english menu translation. Had to look up "snaps" to start!

  2. Similar question for me too. I am trying to absorb all this great information and think I am pretty close. Would like some reassurance though.

We are flying into Copenhagen pre-cruise on June 19th and staying at the Hotel Bethel for 1 night. We are a family of 4 (all adults). We will arrive about 5pm. Looks like I can take the metro M2 to Kongens Nytorv. Is it appropriate to have luggage on the metro? We try to travel light, but end up with more than we should. Are single tickets 24 DKK?

We are sailing out of Oceankaj on June 20 which is a Saturday. So would I then take bus 26 right from Kongens Nytorv again also for 24 DKK? Does bus 26 not run on Saturdays? Perhaps we are better off with a taxi?

After the cruise we fly out of Copenhagen at 5pm on Monday June 29th. This is the most confusing part for me. Luckily we have plenty of time. Do I take a train to the airport?

    Thank you in advance.

  3. We have booked a kayaking trip in Geiranger in late June. Instructions from the company on what to wear talks about long wool underwear and other wicking garments. We kayaked in Alaska and rain jackets and pants were provided for us. Don't really plan to pack big gear just for kayaking. I would appreciate any advice from those of you who have kayaked in Norway. I know the weather can be variable. Could we get by with quick dry shorts and waterproof jackets?

  4. Well this was the perfect thread to read! We are cruising out of Copenhagen in June 2015 and would like to spend a few days pre-cruise in Paris. We are a family of 4 but the "kids" will be 18 and 21 when we go. I am planning to fly into CDG then 1 night at Disneyland Paris (either Disneyland hotel or Hotel New York) and then 1 night at Hôtel des Comédies then fly SAS to Copenhagen for 1 night before our cruise. I know Paris deserves more time and maybe someday. We were there for 1 day post cruise a few years ago so have at least tasted a bit and have been to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Any advice on logistics for this? I believe Disneyland Paris has shuttle options. Not sure the best way to get to and from the Hotel des Comedies.

  5. We were in Katakolon last week and booked George for a full day. We are a family of 4, kids are 17 and 20. George was amazing. He responded very quickly with options and prices. He followed up with emails from time to time and right before the cruise, he sent a google map picture of the port with arrows as to where we should go to meet him based on where our ship actually docked. He was waiting for us when we arrived. Spent most of our time at Olympia and he gave us a book to take in with us while we toured the ruins. He came to the ticket booth with us to buy the tickets, our 17 year old was free and the 20 year old had a discounted admission. After the ruins, we spent a little time at the museum. We had planned to go to the Mercouri winery, but George suggested we go to the Olympia Land winery instead as it would not be a crowded at the time we would be arriving. He called ahead so they were expecting us. It was a great choice. There were just a few taxi's of people there so we were well taken care of. I believe the tour was 8 euros with 5 wines to taste and a nice little plate of tomatoes and cucumbers right from their garden along with cheeses, meat, bread... Wine was very good and several bottles came home with us. Finally we went to a little beach near the ship for about an hour. No charge for the chairs and umbrellas. Mythos beers were cheap and cold. George was outstanding. Free wifi in the taxi was a bonus too. I can't recommend him highly enough.

  6. We were there last week for the day pass. My daughter and I had the massages and my son and husband had lunch. Breakfast buffet was amazing and my family had nothing but positive comments about the lunch. The massages were 25 minutes and relaxing. The driver was about 30 minutes late and I had to call twice to make sure we had not missed him. Apparently he was delayed picking up people from the airport. We were on the Disney Magic and I believe it was the first time that ship had been to Mykonos. We were docked at the port and were a little confused about where to go to meet our driver. You just go right outside the gate and they will pick you up there. No need to go wandering around as we did. We were the only group on our ship going to the hotel. It was the last port on our 9 night cruise and was the perfect way to spend a relaxing day, no shopping, no ruins. We are from Florida so are used to warm water, but did manage to take a cool swim in the sea as well as the pool. My "kids" are 17 and 20 but I saw several younger children there as well. I would go again, but would be sure to clarify the pick up time and location again prior to leaving home.
