1. I'll be cruising on the Pride soon. It's good to read all these nice comments about her. I don't even see any negative remarks about the Pride. Can't wait!

Here's the only negative I have to post about the PRIDE. CCL just cancelled the best itinerary the PRIDE had - for what would have been a great farewell cruise from Baltimore. I was really looking forward to it on 11/30/14- but its been CANCELED! :(

2. I'm anxious to experience the Pride. We are booked on that Nov. 30, 2014 sailing.

Those of us on the Roll Call for that sailing have named it;

"Pride's Swan Song."

Come on over and join the Roll Call if you would like to. So far, there are not many of us, but we are all excited.

DELTA --

Thanks for sharing this thread with those of us on the Pride's Swan Song Cruise!

I have lots of fun memories on the PRIDE. We will miss her; as sailing from Baltimore is so convenient and affordable for us. The drop-off & pick-up is a breeze. We really like being up on the top deck when going under the Key Bridge & Bay Bridge. (We spent a Sunday evening going back and forth over the Bay Bridge in our car, last summer, until we were on the bridge as the PRIDE sailed underneath. It was quite a site, all lit up, and so up-close from that perspective. It costs me 3-Tolls !, but it was well worth it.

We have also sailed on the SPIRIT, and love that class ship.

We actually like the art work on the pride, and "David's" steakhouse.

On our last cruise, a very beautiful young lady, who was developmentally challenged, was in the elevator with her Mom, as we were going up towards the statue of David. She referred to it as the "pee=pee statue":p

I thought that was so priceless & innocent. We still refer to it that way, and we giggle every time.

ALL OTHERS on this post-

I enjoy the reminiscing about the PRIDE, but I encourage you to join DELTA, KANGA, and ET on her last sail from Baltimore. It is sure to be a wonderful cruise. It will be your last chance to sail her from Baltimore, and the itinerary is awesome! So come join us ; We'd love to have ya:D

3. I think the inner values count :p! The straight bug will avoid hard movements of the ship. I often get seasick so I will accept the ugly bug :D

So that's what that "BUG" is for!?

Do you think it will work?

4.
I am a travel agent! Do you have questions?
Tell me about AIDA cruises.
How do I seek info in English?
Are the cruises accommodating to English-speaking travelers?
Is it true there is a clothing-optional Deck on all AIDA cruises?

ET:)
5. Many new pictures :):

I think they are going to be so beautiful!

Nice photos - thanks for the link.

I am trying to get more info on AIDA, but can't find much in English!

How many AIDA cruises have you taken?

Also - I see you traveled Stena lines from Kiel to Gothenburg.

Was that connected with a Volvo purchase??

(We've bought 2 Volvos using European Delivery -- but have not done the Stena Line voyage)

Tell me about it, please.

Thanks;

ET:)

6. I guess, by strict definition, we are going to be staggered. The DW quit her job as Exec.Sec. for a church, about 10 years ago and she has not gone back to work since. At this point, looks like she has no desire to return to the rat race. I plan to retire in 5-7 years.

Sounds like I'm a prisoner, doing 5-7 years of hard labor, with no time off for good behavior:D:D

7. We travel more often and take more time to see the sights. We entertain ourselves rather than our children (which we did when they were young and life focused on them). We eat when and what we want to eat. We do not complain about the food, nor cut up anyone else's food. We think late night is 10 pm. We know the value of elastic waist pants, especially at the end of the cruise. We are not sure why anyone would listen to rap. We need quieter dining areas because DH cannot hear as well as he used to. We put a night light in the bathroom for those late night trips.

We take ourselves less seriously because we have lost loved ones and realize what really is important in life. We have patience for those with limited mobility and envy those with grandchildren. We like seeing others enjoy themselves and move away from people who irritate us so they can enjoy themselves and we don't have to get irritated or complain.

We do not travel during spring break time because we don't have to. We can go whenever we want. We drink an occasional drink because drinking to excess was so 40 years ago. We hate the next morning headache and grogginess because getting going in the morning is tough enough without the hangover.

I actually love being this age. I hold onto every minute and wish I could slow life down.

KINKO THAT!

You have summed it up for most of us in this age group.

Once I hit 50, I started tipping more, and schlepping less.

It's worth a little extra out of pocket, to not be a pack mule, and risk hurting my back or twisting my knees.:D

Great Post!
