  1. Hi all,

Apologies, I know this has been asked before but I cannot find an answer. I want to book a cruise with my son and his BFF. They are 17 and 18 years old. I don't want to share a cabin with them. I would like to book my own cabin, and book another cabin for them, on the same reservation of course. Is this possible? I am not sure about the age restrictions. I will be the only one over 21. TIA!

  2. I just can't quite get over this story. First, it's remarkable the fall didn't take his life. I always thought falling or jumping off a moving cruise ship was almost always a death sentence. Next, I just can't imagine it would be possible to tread water for so many hours. I wonder if, by some miracle, he found something in the ocean that he was able to grab on to and use to float on? Whatever happened, it is a truly wonderful ending to a harrowing event. I hope he does an interview and tells his story! I was on a cruise awhile ago when a passenger passed away by jumping. The ship was able to recover his body, which at least gave his family some closure. It was so awful. I can't imagine how elated this man's family must be. So much to be thankful for on Thanksgiving.

  3. I apologize if this has been asked before. I couldn't find anything this specific regarding royal up. I booked about 8 days ago,. I leave this Sunday. A couple days ago, I received the offer to submit bids, so I submitted 5 royal up bids on 5 different cabin types. I don't expect anything, but I admit, I am hopeful. You never know, right? So question is, if you were granted the upgrade, when were you notified? Wondering if there's still hope for me. It says "pending" on all my bids. Thanks in advance. 🙂

We were on Harmony in Nov 28 (and Dec 5) and when we arrived at 11, the parking garage was completely full.  We had to park in the surface lot next to the terminal.  When that filled up (which it did), they used overflow areas, one in a grassy area.

BTW,  there is an entire thread on the topic of T1parking. If I find it, I'll post it.

Thank you SO MUCH!  I really appreciate your help! This helps me a ton!!

  5. In case anyone else runs into this problem, I thought I'd follow up: So after 2 sleepless days and nights of literally refreshing the shore excursions page every 15 minutes, low and behold. someone cancelled and I was able to swipe up 2 tickets for me and my son! He's going to be so happy!! I'm so glad I didn't give up. Stalking works people! 🙂 You never know when someone might cancel. YAY!! I am one happy momma!

  6. So I booked a last minute cruise, leaving in 9 days, and literally almost everything is sold out in Coco Cay. My son was so excited to go to the water park, and it's all sold out, even the half day tickets. Is it typical for the water park to sell out? Would I be wasting my time if I keep "stalking" their website for a cancellation, or in case they release more tickets? This cruise is to celebrate his birthday and I haven't told him yet the park is sold out. I feel so bad for him! That was a big reason he wanted to go on this cruise. 😞

  7. I'm about to book a last minute cruise on Harmony, about 10 days from now. I'm not familiar too with RCCL, particularly the bigger ships. I (think?) you have to book what shows you want to go to before the cruise, is that correct?

I'm wondering since this cruise leaves in 10 days, will everything be booked? I am just wondering what the negatives would be as far as booking last minute on Royal. I don't want to miss out on anything. I don't care what time I board, and I'm flexible on shore excursions and eating venues.

Any advice would help. Thanks in advance!

Absolutely!! On one of the last few days of the trip I was heading out and talking with one of the attendants when another passenger came up and asked if he could get a look around.  After touring the area he said "How much for one of the wrist bands?" and as soon as he heard $500 it was "Immediate pass"   I think about other cabanas like in Amber Cove that are over the water and come with their own amenities and those in itself are around $375 (?) for the day so I'd think Carnival should definitely consider aligning the price because I just don't see many people justifying that amount of money.

However, I was also on a cruise that was only close to 70% capacity so maybe once at full capacity some people may succumb to the current prices for some peace.

One other thing - with the capacity we had in mind - on sea days Serenity stayed absolutely full.

Thanks for the info on loft 19. I have a question for you: For those of us not staying in a suite, if interested in renting a cabana, do we go to guest services once we board to see about availability, or do we go straight to the loft 19 area? I'm not seeing any information about it on the website or in my cruise planner, although I figured it wouldn't be in my planner since I have booked just a regular balcony stateroom. Thanks for any advice!

  9. Just got off the Conquest yesterday. Sip and cover wasn't enforced. For example, at the comedy shows and casino if you had a drink at your table or by the slot machine, you could have your mask off and no one said a word to you. That said, I did the sip and cover thing as well as about 50% of others. Perhaps each ship is different. This was just my experience.

He issued an EO in April (I believe) banning gov't agencies and any entity that receives public funding from requiring it, etc. Then the Texas legislature expanded that and included any company - public of private.

Thanks for answering! Things are still so fluid. Maybe I'll just wait it out. ugh.

Apologizes if I missed a post answering this question, but, here goes:

I thought the TX governor put forth a law banning companies from requiring vaccines. How did CCL get around this? Is it a bit less restrictive than Florida's law? I ask because I'm now thinking about booking in July, but don't want it to be canceled because they cannot get around the law. Thanks in advance!!

OMG I'm so embarrassed. I literally just read the previous post!! SORRY!!

I will go on my Bahamas cruise this summer but after that I am back to Celebrity or Azamara. To thank that attention getting gov. disgusts me. This quote from Michael Bayley  “We also thank Governor DeSantis of Florida, Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, Broward County Mayor Steve Geller and Chairman of the Canaveral Port Authority board Wayne Justice and board commissioners for their steadfast support of our industry and for providing access to vaccines to the thousands of crew on our ships off the eastern seaboard. " 😡

You nailed it. That was the first thing that just enraged me. I'm booked out of Nassau as well, and if my (vaccinated) son wasn't so excited, I'd cancel and just do a land vacation. Here I thought RCI was willing to protect their guests and stand up to him. What a joke.

  14. Thinking about the 7-day on the Vista the first week of March. The first 2 days are sea days. I'm wondering if I'm risking the weather not being warm enough to use the pools on these days. I know out of Long Beach, it takes time to get far enough south to warm up. Obviously we can't predict the weather, but might someone be able to advise me on this? Also, I would be flying into the Houston-Bush airport. Anyone know how long the drive is to Galveston? Is an Uber possible? Thanks in advance!

  15. So I'll be on a cruise that will be docked from 8 -2. At this port, I usually go down to Pillory Beach, but I'm unsure of this idea because I don't know if there will be enough time. I'm thinking of staying at the beach near the pier, maybe going over to Jack's Shack. My question is...What time will these beach bars/restaurants be open? Also, how is the beach near Jack's Shack? I have read the beaches near the pier are rocky. Any input is appreciated!! Thank you.

  16. My vote is for Pillory Beach. the Bahio Resort is small, but WOW!, the beach is amazing. You can literally walk for what seems like miles and not see a soul. This is what I did with my son years ago. It was one of the best days we've had on vacation. The sand was warm, the waves were perfect and the water wasn't rocky. The resort has a very well maintained bar and restaurant with kinda-pricey but worth it food and drinks. It's my version of perfect!
