  1. Hi,

Indeed, Seabourns "health and safety guidelines 2022 canary islands" . pdf ( that's online for the moment = today 10 february  ) doesn't mention any necessary testing prior to travel to be done.

However, the FAQ has been updated apparently very recently ...

( when I last checked the day before yesterday, it was still the old FAQ )

Some quotes from the new FAQ :

-What types of COVID-19 tests are accepted?

Guests must be tested with a medically observed SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) viral test that could be either an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT)

    -Is a self-test acceptable?
No. Self-tests, including medically observed self-tests, are not accepted.

-Will I be tested again before embarking on my cruise?
Yes, in addition to the test prior to departure from home, Seabourn will provide a complementary antigen test to everyone at embarkation as a second layer of protection for all sailings.

If Seabourn requires a Covid-19 test before embarking on my cruise, why do I have to be tested again prior to boarding?
As a second layer of protection and to assure a safe voyage for our guests and crew members, Seabourn will provide a complimentary antigen test to everyone at embarkation.

If I arrive at the pier without a Covid-19 test done prior to 2 days before my sailing, will the complimentary Covid-19 antigen test suffice for boarding my cruise?
No, we require guests to be tested at home prior to departure in order to avoid travel disruptions associated with a positive result and will test them again in the terminal prior to boarding. Fully vaccinated guests who have not gotten a pre-cruise test will have a test administered for a cost of $100 per person."

    kind regards,

  2. Hi cruiser94044,

    hi teamflames,

It appears we're on the same seabourn ovation cruise ( dubai -> singapore ) :)

After doing some research ( what works for USA and Australia, doesn't necessirely works for BELGIUM ),

it appears we only need to get a visa for India on our own before embarkation !

For India, the 2 types are OK ( paper visa and e-visa ),

but we decided to get a paper visa,

as the indian consulate is in our home town Antwerp ( so very easy to pass by ) and to avoid any possible delay in getting of the ship.

@ teamflames, I already have the information re the address for the visa

  3. Hi Marama,

Indeed, Johan and I were 2 weeks on the Pandaw II for the Christmas-New Year cruise on the irrawaddy river in Myanmar in december 2012 !

    It was a wonderfull rivercruise.

    I've to confess something :)

I don't see / know how to accept your friend request on cruisecritic

But don't hesitate to email me on dhoogheralfatyahoodotcom

  4. Hi,

We're looking into booking our first windstar cruise ( Europe may/june 2018 ).

Is there any windstar cruise repeater who would like to refer us ?

As I understand it correctly, I need to give the repeaters details ( name+address+yacht club number) to my TA when making a booking ( so that both parties can enjoy the OBC of 200 $ ).

    My email is dhoogheralfatyahoodotcom

( pleace replace at by @ and dot by . )

    Kind regards,

    ralf

  5. the website says ( https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/info/ )

"Do I need an e-Visa if I am on a cruise ship?

According to the Law on Foreigners and International Protection which entered into force on 11th April 2014, those foreigners who arrive at sea ports and intend to visit the seaport city or nearby provinces for touristic purpose are exempt from visa provided that their stay does not exceed seventy two (72) hours."

    or in other words,

    - if your cruise ends in Turkey ( = you disembark and the cruise has finished ), you need a visa

-if your cruise ship passes through a turkish port ( = your cruise continues ) ,

    you don't need an e-visa

    kind regards,

  6. Hi fab 8,

Each couple needs one referral voucher ( so you need 4 in total )

The following information is needed on the referral coupon:

Your name, booking number, address, city, state, postal code, country , email address ( as mentioned on the invoice )

As soon as the referral coupon is filled in, the coupon has to be send to Seabourn.

    There are 2 possibilities :

    a) Either the referral holder receives the necessary information and sends then the coupon with the necessary information to Seabourn

    b) Either the referral holder sends the coupon to the first time seabourner, who fills in the coupon and sends it then to Seabourn

PS I’ve a referral voucher, so if you ( or one of your travel friends ) decide to book your first seabourn cruise – you won’t be disappointed as seabourn is the best ! – you may contact me

dhoogheralf at yahoo.com ( please replace at by @ )

  7. Hi,

When you’ve made your first ever Seabourn booking and you know that you’re not entitled to any other possible onboard credit ( for example amex platinum onboard booking, … ) ( as it’s not allowed to combine onboard credits ), you can enquire about the referral voucher.

When you’re are in contact with a person, who has a referral voucher of 400$, there are 2 possibilities,

either the holder of the referral voucher sends you the referral voucher, you fill it in and you send it to Seabourn ( the address is at the back of the referral voucher )

either you give your name, address, booking number, … to the referral holder, he fills the voucher in and sends it to Seabourn.

This can all be done before the final payment date, but the referral onboard credit will only be definite, when Seabourn recieves your final payment.

In your case, you pay in full on the moment of the booking, just let your travel agent - when booking - inform seabourn that you'll send in a referral voucher, then take care of the business of the voucher and send the voucher to seabourn ( or let the referral holder send it ).

PS I’ve a referral voucher, so if you decide to book your first seabourn cruise – you won’t be disappointed as seabourn is the best ! – you may contact me

  9. Hi,

I was wondering if anyone, who has recently used the “Signature Beverage Package” could help me ?

HAL says “Our convenient, affordable Signature Beverage Package allows you to select from a variety of wine, beer, spirits, cocktails (including non-alcoholic), sodas & coffee! Includes any beverage priced at a $7.00 or lower menu price. Up to 15 beverages per day. * Prices are per day; Signature Beverage Package for $44.95 per day, per person a 15% service charge is not included and will be automatically applied to your purchase. The package must be purchased for the entire duration of the voyage. Up to a 15-drink maximum per day.”

    1) does this include ANY drink at or below 7$ ?

    2) what about bottled water, for example san pellegrino ?

    3) what about specialty coffee as for example irish coffee ?

    4) what about a sparkling wine as prosecco ?

    5) do you get for example a can of cola or fountain cola ?

Thank you for your help !

    Kind regards,

    ralf

  11. Hi,

We’ll be in incheon next march ( nautica of oceania cruises ) and we’ve set up a tour with jasmine ( mail@seoulcitytour.net ) (http://www.seoulcitytour.net )

She always responded quickly to any questions and emails.

I don’t remember which site, but I had found one recommendation of a tourist we had used this company and had given a positive review.

    I hope this is helpful.

    Kind regards,
