  1. I think it's hit & miss. In my 30 some NCL cruises, I've never ever had an issue with my small 4" fan that I always pack in my carry on personal bag, until this past January on the Breakaway. Security sent me to a special table and they took it away and said "You can get it back when you get on board" Well, NOT quite the issue, I fought with CS in the Atrium for 4 hours about being a diabetic & medically needed my fan. OMG!!!!! This would have been a deal breaker for me. Finally after 9:30 p.m. that night I got it back. Not a pleasant few hours for me.

  2. I have yet to use the new terminal in Miami. Can anyone who has sailed out of both the old terminal and the new glass terminal tell me about the compared process of both. I'm curious how the flow and process of the new terminal compares to the old. Trying not to get lost in the shuffle of something I know nothing about! Anything about the new terminal that is a must see or must know about. Do they have the VIP waiting room for Platinum and above like the old terminal. Thank you for everyone's input. April L

  3. Anyone who has had to do the Travel authorization for Bermuda, can you tell me your experiences. 4 of us are traveling to Bermuda 4/8/22 from Boston on the Pearl. My sister is really concerned about having a test come back false positive, and having too many variables that may hinder actually getting on the ship. Is she over reacting, or is she justified in her worries? By that time NCL is not testing at the pier any longer, so now we all need to get 1 4 days prior (for Bermuda) and 1 3 days before (for NCL) UGH!!!!!!!!!!

I do think there is also a way to only have one person in a cabin to have the beverage package. Someone on here once mentioned that if there is a legitimate reason one person can't have the package (i would think: pregnant, medical condition, recovering alcoholic), you could call NCL and only have it for one person. It might have been in the thread about the Premium Plus package.

    Anyone know more?

Yes! I was told by NCL if one has a Dr.s note sent to I think it was customer Relations before final payment, they can opt out. My sister does not drink due to religion & this is what she was told to do. Also, for recovering alcoholics too.

Good to know...that's probably what we'll do.  Thanks!

I thought they didn't take reservations for less than 8 for the main dining rooms. If and I say if, they are busy and are passing out beepers and tell you its a 30 - 45 minute wait, I have always had my beeper go off in about 10 - 15 minutes. In all my many cruises, I believe I've only had a beeper maybe 3 times and one of them was for the smaller free Chinese restaurant. Go for it, have a great time and don't worry. Cruising is back!!! 6. OK, so I know I'll get an answer quicker here than if I called NCL. If anyone knows, I'm just curious. So I have a 2 bedroom Suite booked from Boston to Bermuda April, 08, 2022 for 4 adults. So it comes with the shore excursion credit, which is $50.00. I know it's per cabin, not person, so a whopping $12.50 each. Not a problem, but is it only a total of $50.00 even if we are there or 3 days. Just curious. The answer is not going to change anything we may or may not do! Thanks all who know!!!

Yes and the lingering question is will ALL pax , once cruising begins, adhere to wearing masks? Secondly how will crew enforce.

Get 1 warning , second confined to cabin until next port then removed from ship?

Time will tell, but what gets me is that people know what the rules are going to be set in place and when they are aboard they all of a sudden become above the rules. Just like the people who went on their own in port, were denied re boarding. People don't seem to realize what these cruise lines have been through and I don't believe the cruise lines are going to be up to playing games with passengers in the future who think they don't have to follow the rules. Do I want to wear a mask? NO! Will I wear a mask to be able to cruise? YES! UGH

You should not be allowed on a cruise ship UNTIL you have been tested and UNTIL you have proof of having taken the vaccine.   Also cruise ships should not be allowed to port unless they have a private island and all workers on that island have the same standards.   I can not see going to an island (Caribbean) unless they have the same standards, even escorted excursions.

I think the Barbados cruise ship showed that testing alone doesn't work.

Being tested is one thing and having the vaccine is another. I will submit to a test, but will not to a vaccine! When we discover in 3.8 years from now people who had the vaccine start growing extra limbs and loosing ears and noses. Sorry, not for me!! It happens. Been on Metformin for years & been recalled for causing cancer! Wonderful

I make these all the time at home!  A dusting of powdered sugar and they taste exactly the same.  Williams-Sonoma also has the chocolate-almond ones.

OMG, I just love almond but I am not crazy about pastries, BUT************* when I tried these (coaxed by my sister) I turned into a savage. Soon as I go to Wal-Mart I will buy the stuff I need & make them!!! I so can't wait!!!

if you're in a suite you can ask the butler to bring you the french almond pastries along with a carafe of coffee or hot water for tea directly to your cabin. i always have the butler bring me muffins, sweet rolls and croissants every morning.

Oh yeah, I didn't even think of that. Isn't it crazy what we cruise for. LOL I have a recipe for them but have not been able to get all the ingredients yet cause of Covid. Soon though. Thank You

If a vaccine becomes available, I wouldn't be one bit surprised if proof of having been vaccinated is part of the pre-boarding check in process.  We will see, I guess.

Maybe so, but I will still forgo the vaccine, too much too soon and who knows whats in the vaccine. Just had my Metformin re called due to having found cancer causing components in it. It's not these diseases that are going to knock us off the planet, it's going to be the meds for it!!! LOL

On specialty dining: It will cover your entire meal for restaurants that are pay one price, such as Moderno and Teppanyaki.  Most others have gone a la carte pricing, and your dining package covers one entree, but in some venues there will be some premium menu items that are a further cost even for dining package meals.  Then what you get included is still, it seems, controversial.  The terms and conditions aren't completely clear and people were still reporting different interpretations and experiences as of February.  In some cases it was salad or appetizer, one side, and one dessert.  Other said it was unlimited sides and dessert.  I don't think we will be sure until we get new reports when cruising returns.

A bit off topic but,***** Please tell me that this is not the "Bill Abrams - Rochester, NY" that use to work at Cooper Vision in the 80's in the Maintenance Dept.

You can't possibly think 1 cruise lines will let another get the upper hand and sail first. If one goes on XXX date, being you like to gamble, it a safe bet all 3 will go at same time.

As long as they have passed all of the CDC guidelines. If they still need to be tweeked by one Co., then they may have to wait a bit longer.

  14. As of 4/17/2020 Partial article reads;

The five free offers are: free open bar (20 percent gratuity not included), free specialty dining, as detailed above (20 percent gratuity not included), a shore excursion credit, free Wi-Fi and kids sail free.

Under the old rules, depending on the cabin category they booked, passengers could choose one, two, three or all five offers.

Under the new rules, passengers receive all five offers but the free specialty dining amenity has been trimmed. Passengers booked on short sailings of three to five nights will still receive one complimentary specialty dinner, and those on cruises of 15 nights or longer will still get five included specialty dinners.

This answers my own question why I have 4 SDP instead of the 3 now listed for my 10 day in October.

  15. Yes you are all correct. Most always the SDP is for guest 1 & 2 unless purchased outright, and if there are 3 or 4 in the cabin, the 3rd or 4th won't have a SDP (unless purchased outright) It is O.K. to go and do a la cart and just get an appetizer & desert if that's what you want! Hubby can use 1 of his credits and do the reverse when you go for the fishy food.
