I have just returned from Britannia mini cruise at the weekend. Hubby and I decided to go early and drop off luggage then walk back to a pub for a cheeky glass of wine. While I was outside taking photos of the ship hubby popped in to the terminal to see how busy it was. He returned with boarding cards and said the assistant told him we wouldn't have long to wait before checking in. I wasn't happy as I thought we would be sitting around the terminal for ages, which I didn't want to do. We were on the ship within the hour and still earlier than our embarkation time. Everything was running freely and it looked like the cards were being given out first come first served, like it used to be. A big difference to when we sailed on Ventura in October. Also it looked like check in had been opened earlier than the 1 oclock it had changed too. It actually seemed like the old system and definitely ran a lot smoother. Hope they are returning to the old days:D

When it gets to the point in muster where they say "we now invite you to try on your life jackets" we leave, its not compulsory and means while everyone is ripping their Velcro apart, tying themselves in knots and testing the whistle (yuk) we are heading for the top deck.
Never had a problem, don't tell too many people though or they will all do it!
Interesting....... I thought you had to stay and put on your life jacket and that it was part of the muster. Will try this next week.

Excited now and reviews for the cabin on P&O and her sister ships on Princess so feel better re the cabin :):) Still have this year in Oceana to do yet though ;)
Been twice on Oceana, loved it too. Fabulous atrium.

Yeah, glad you have booked. My friend loved her 17 nights on Ventura. We have sailed on her 4 times now and hopefully will be on her again in the future. Enjoy!!!!:)

Well we have Booked a 7 night cruise on Ventura in August because we are taking our 8 year old Grandchild on holiday and we looked at a week at Butlins half board with him and for not much more money we've got a week on Ventura full board. So with that in mind I think we can expect plenty of children
Ventura is very family friendly. We have sailed on her 4 times now and always in the school holidays. We are a couple on our own but always find somewhere quiet to sit if we want a quieter time.:)

Last week the 17 night Ventura cruise in July was selling for the same price as the Azura 14 night at the same time. I know which one I would choose.

Just asked my friend who was on the Ventura 17 night cruise last summer holidays with her 2 teenage boys. She said there were lots of children and families on board.

We have sailed 4 times using the saver fare and each time were allocated our cabin 15 days before.

Hi Presto, We have had a corner aft balcony twice on Ventura C753. Fantastic position with your own private corridor. Big balcony and fab views of the wake. We did have rough seas in October and there was quite a bit more movement than we are used to:eek: This wouldn't stop me booking again and they were the same price as normal balconies:D:D

I have paid for three cruises in the past with tesco vouchers but not great a deal now that it has changed to x3 and no free parking or OBC. It is cheaper to book a saver and save vouchers for something else. We usually use the vouchers for eating out while in Southampton:D

Been on oceana twice and loved it. Fantastic atrium.:)

We always do the beach house on the first night. It has become one of our rituals when cruising (of course that is if there is a beach house on board)
Menu is always the same.

We saw it on Britannia in August but didn't think much of it. It was the new entertainment group but they were much better on stage in the theatre.

Started to think it was a wind up but doesn't seem to be. What a dreadful way to act and very ungrateful:(

Having spent a LOT of 2015 getting to 'know' some of you and enjoying the many 'debates' re P&O (both for and against) we just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and healthy, safe and happy 2016.
Happy cruising everyone ;-)
Us Prestos :D
Happy Christmas to you too and all in this group:)

Excellent news. Hope this continues.

We have sailed twice to the Canary Islands at this time of year and both times the swell was a problem and we felt slightly yucky the whole time on both cruises.

I am off on Ventura tomorrow and intend to post my experience when I return. I have a boarding time of 3.30 and although I would normally aim to board by noon I will try and get there for around 3.00 (traffic depending) and see what happens
Good luck and have a fab cruise.:)

Totally agree. I would prefer a large amount of OBC any day.:D

You have tried to eat my husband? [emoji102]
:eek: It did read like that, haha.
-
We had a lovely cabin forward on B deck (sorry don't know which number deck that is) with no problems whatsoever.
-
I never manage to eat it as it crumbles whenever I try to, just like Florry's husband.

Yes, I remember taking it out of my bag and thinking I wouldn't need it on the cruise and I shoved it in the open safe. Then there was a bit of a rush to look at the retreat and go to muster and neither of us actually locked it, neither did we check the balcony door [emoji15] (very silly). That was the only time the safe was left unlocked, neither of us remember seeing it the rest of the cruise (which was only two nights I think) then at the end I realised it had gone. Now we are very careful, we often used to leave things lying around but never since then. None of my cards were used, probably lying at the bottom of the sea. Having said all that I think that incidents like that are in the small minority.
The only thing that I find goes missing is the wine from my wine box in the fridge. Someone must be taking it as it goes down so quickly:D:D

All joking aside I did have my purse stolen on Ventura. It was in the cabin but my own stupid fault as it wasn't locked up. So on a serious note crime does exist onboard!
Gosh I need to be more careful. I am very relaxed while on the ship as never expect anything like this.:(
Embarkation question
in P&O Cruises ( UK )

Yes I used to sail when we had early embarkation.:D
