  1. I had the Leaning Tower ice cream sundaes on the Enchanted in April.  It wasn't as big as I thought it would be. Husband and I shared one just to try it. It was fine, nothing special.  We never ordered another one or the cake.

We preferred to use our calories with the MDR desserts. All the desserts we ordered in the MDR were excellent.

  2. thanks for this question. We have "plus" package, and we sail in 17 days. We have not received our medallions yet. I can't remember seeing anything about a cost to ship them.

When should we expect the medallions? If they don't arrive before we leave, I am sure we can get them at the port, but I like having them in hand before.

    thanks Kaye

  3. Do they still have free headphones that they give you in the sanctuary? A few years ago, we got Bose Headphones in the Sanctuary with free music.  There was a nice variety of music to pick from.  Hope they still have this available.

    Thanks Kaye

A bit off topic but sticking with the theme of the gym for "mature" users.  I use a stationery bike at the gym 3 days a week to keep my knee replacement happy.  I have been on Grand, Regal, Sky and Enchanted Princess and have not found one stationery bike I can use.  They are all "racing" bikes.  😢

I just had knee replacement surgery in January, and we are cruising the end of March. I was hoping to use a stationary bike to help with my recovery. I am so disappointed to hear Princess doesn't have stationary bikes.  I need to start looking for an alternative plan. 😞

Our cruise on Ruby last year ended on Easter Sunday so I’m not sure about worship service or special menu but I get they did something. There were decorations during the week before Easter.

Thanks for the pictures. I love the decorations with the eggs. But the life size bunnies look a little crazy. 🙂

We have spent three Easter’s onboard and there is some low key activity. Not like Christmas but there are usually some decorations, the kids club organizes an egg hunt, Easter bunny has shown up, there is usually some ham and/or lamb options on the menu and in the buffet. If there is a crew member so inclined we have seen a non denominational worship gathering - but that was just one time.

thanks for the reply. I was hoping for a service of some sort. I will have to wait and see.

  7. Thanks everyone. I think I will just ask at the dining venue we go to. If we have to, we will just pay the extra price for his meal.

I was thinking of going to the pub venue (can't remember the name of the restaurant) for the fish and chips on the Enchanted for something different.

  8.  We have three of us in our cabin.  My husband and myself have the plus package but our son does not. Son is an adult.

How do we handle going to a casual dining?

Silly question but can we bring in food for son from another dining venue? (pizza, french fries)

    Thanks, Kaye

Not covered...  but what I call 'enclosed', and not open to the sea view..  as there are cabins on both sides of it.  The open area is the deck overlooking down into where the pool is.

    Thanks for the clarification!  Kaye

If you are not big on shows, and 'partying',  but like to be where the 'vibe' is, and enjoy being at sea,  then you should be very happy!  The Piazza that Princess has is the perfect offering.

Depending on who the band and entertainers are onboard, the Piazza could be LOUD on some nights, and more laid back. (but not a snooze-fest) on other nights.    We have seen everything from 'Rock' band shows to 'middle of the road' bands who do numbers like "Isn't she wonderful" (Stevie Wonder)  and "Hello" (Lionel Ritchie)

The piano entertainer at Crooners will alternate with the band/entertainer on the main level of the Piazza throughout the evening.

Things to note, and enjoy -

The international Cafe. breakfasts sandwiches snacks all day...  This is where you will get your nice specialty coffees.

Gigi's/Alfredos  -  Def. use your Plus Package to get the BEST pizza.  (this. used to be free/included)

Enchanted has The Catch by Rudi, right?   This would be one of the specialty (uncharge) restaurants that you might want to try.

The adult pool area...  The main pool area will be louder, busy, with the huge MUTS screen playing concerts/videos/movies.   (unfortunately, they enclosed the adult retreat pool with cabins, so most seating is on the deck overlooking.)

Princess will have a lot of the same things as CCL - the casino, game shows, etc...

    ENJOY!!!

When did they enclose the adult retreat pool? We were on the Enchanted last February and it wasn't enclosed.

    Thanks Kaye

  11. We were on the Enchanted last February and had a great time. A beautiful ship and much newer than the Caribbean. The buffet is much bigger and more options for food. We are going on her again in March of this year.

But, The Caribbean has a walking promenade deck that we really enjoy. And the Caribbean has a walk-in step into the pool. We were very disappointed that there weren't any walk-in steps on the Enchanted.

Apologies if this has already been addresses, but for the 2023-2024 season, Princess has the following calls on Guadeloupe:  Island Princess 12/25, Caribbean Princess 1/3, Emerald Princess 2/25 and Ruby Princess 3/13.  For the 2024-2025 season, there are none.  Is there a reason?

I don't know why Princess is no longer going to Guadeloupe. Our experience last February was that we could not get an excursion with Princess on Guadeloupe. The excursions were very limited and the ones they had filled up very fast.

I asked a crew member at the shore excursion desk about going in port on our own and walking around the city.  My question was is it safe to walk around Guadeloupe on our own, with a person in a wheelchair. He said it isn't the safest port and with a wheelchair our party might be more vulnerable.

We decided to stay on the ship didn't want to take the chance.

I'm guessing where they are depends on the ship? I was on Sapphire and they were at the bottom of the display that had the other desserts (e.g., pound cake).

Regardless, here is a link from another CC thread...

Those look better than the ice cream sundae.  I love red velvet cake, maybe my husband and I can share a piece. Thanks for the photo!

So, interesting thing about the sundaes...you can customize them. Still huge, but you can ask to not get certain things or have other things added.

Also, the "huge" cakes at the international cafe that they charge for are "free" with the plus package (counts as one of your 2 free desserts).

I don't think I have ever seen the cakes at international cafe that are the free with the plus package. Do you happen to have pictures of them? I have been looking at something besides the huge ice cream sundaes.

    thanks

  15. Thank you everyone for all the replies.  I think we will go ahead with the cruise. We have insurance.

I'm starting to do the pre surgery exercises and some walking. Walking is hard because of the pain in the knee but I know I have to also get my muscles ready.

Thanks again, your suggestions are helpful.
