Spokesmodel??  Is this some shot at what John looks like?  He is a brand ambassador.  I bet I could do a great job at picking you apart.

It was a simple question.  No need to pick on a person's looks or whatever the spokesmodel was for.  I think you know his title.

    Jeez, rude much?

I just booked a room at La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham in FLL. I've tried searching on here and not having any luck with this particular location.

It says the address is 2620 North 26th Avenue, Hollywood, FL

I'm trying to find out if there's anything within walking distance from the hotel to eat dinner at that night when we arrive. I noticed reviews on La Quinta that stated places to eat, but when you look at a map, it looks like the hotel is by the water and you'd have to cross a bridge to get over to the food section. I'm just wanting to make sure it's safe to do so.

    Anyone?

I don't have any input on your question.  Just wanted to say hi and see how your leg is doing?  I hope you're better now!

I'm sailing on Symphony in 2 months and I prefer to top a nice garden salad with some cheddar, salsa and a dab of sour cream rather than the dressings they have. I can't remember if they had salsa available every day in the Windjammer or not. Anyone know? Wondering if I should pack my own.

Never saw salsa in Windjammer, but they have plenty at El Loco Fresh on Deck 15 aft.

We were on the SOS last week. Weather good except for sail away-misty drizzle- and last night. Last day at Coco Cay very windy. But weather is variable. 7 day forecasts for our cruise on the Friday before sailing had no predictions of the rain on Saturday or wind on Coco Cay.

Missed no ports but were at Costa Maya when the van, drivers went on strike and they closed the port for a couple of hours. Ruined ship excursions for 3 ships but it's all over now.

Impressed with all the sinks, and hand sanitizers everywhere. Use them. Also impressed by the no touch door openers on public restroom doors.

Heard of no one sick or quarantined but with 6K people there probably were some.

Bring Clorox wipes and practice good hygiene. You'll be fine. Enjoy your cruise.

I was on SOS last week also.  Weather bad for embarkation and debarkation.  Last day at Coco Cay it was partly sunny/cloudy in the morning, rain sprinkles, off and on and then a torrential downpour around 2:30, massive lines to get back on the ship, extremely windy.  Not fun.  I was in 8546.  Cabin across the hall had a security guard sitting outside of it for the last two days.  We were told by our room steward that the person was quarantined.  Medical emergency on the last night of the cruise, sped back to Miami, arriving at 12:30 a.m.

  6. I am just back from staying at Sapphire for 3 wonderful weeks.

The tennis courts are closed and likely will be removed completely at some point. The main resort building is closed and will remain so for some time. The pool bar is closed and also will stay closed. The parking lot has pot holes and ruts.

If all these things prevent you from enjoying a beautiful beach, with good snorkeling, and great views then you should go to one of the other beaches.

Just wondering if you can rent chairs and/or umbrellas here? Can you get drinks at all? Haven't been since before they closed. Considering for my next trip. Don't care about tennis courts or potholes in parking lot!

  7. Don't let yourself be turned off by some of the posters. You must learn how to add those posters to your IGNORE LIST. If you don't know how, let me know and I'll PM you how to do it. It is amazing how much quicker these threads read once most of the crap is filtered out :D

There are many great posters with lots & lots of knowledge. Even if I only have 2 cruises and one upcoming under my belt, our TA for our next group cruise was surprised by the amount of information, tips and details I was able to bring to the other cruisers of our group. All thanks to CC.

BTW: Welcome to CC, if it has not been done yet ;)

I would like to know how to filter out the crap so if you don't mind, PM me how to do it. My fear though is that once all the crap is filtered out there will be nothing left.

  8. I really feel for you all, I would have been in bits and want off pdq. That said I can understand that it will take some time for rccl to arrange.

However I am quite surprised that they are only giving you 50% off your next cruise.

We were due to sail with Celebrity a few years ago, from LA to Hawaii for our honeymoon, when 2 days prior to sailing the cruise was cancelled due to technical issues.

We were already in Mexico, leaving 24 hours later for LA and as we are from the UK were a long way from home. It was also an Easter weekend, so getting any flight was almost impossible. Therefore, we tried to make the changes as simple as possible. We flew to LA as planned, then flew to Honolulu and stayed there for 2 weeks in a hotel rather than a ship!

That afternoon, with my new husband trying to placate me at having our cruise cancelled, we thought we would relax and go snorkelling. Long story short, I broke my arm, so we didn't have the best of days!

The point of the message, though is this. Everyone on board was given a full refund, although as I recall it did take a few weeks to come through, AND a 100% free cruise, in the same category of cabin. It was rather nice to have a free 2 week cruise, in a suite, for 14 nights in the med the following summer.

Personally, I think rccl should do the same for you guys.

Good luck guys, thinking of you all

They received a 100% refund for this cruise and 50% off a future cruise. Is that not enough????????

  9. Sadly, no Red Frog Pub - but, she has the Red Frog Rum Bar on the Lido.

Conquest class ships includes Glory, Liberty, Freedom, Valor, and Conquest.

We just debarked on December 20th. Great cruise. We really enjoy Conquest class ships! Food, service, and staff excellent. If you have specific questions, I'd be happy to answer.

Any issues with the AC? I have seen quite a few posts about people being very hot.

    Also how was embarkation/debarkation?

    Thank you!

  10. Just back from the Breeze a couple of weeks ago. We took a taxi to Seven Mile Beach at Royal Palms resort. The taxi ride was only about 10 minutes from George Town (where you exit the tender). I don't remember the exact dollar amount, but it was reasonable. There was a $2 per person charge to enter the Royal Palms, which gives you access to their restrooms and changing rooms plus the pool. There were plenty of chairs on the beach, which rented for $8 each. Umbrellas were extra. I think 2 chairs and an umbrella were $30. There is a full-service bar and grill with patio right there, and a DJ was playing music by the pool. DH ordered a bucket of beer. It was beautiful but crowded. No vendors hassled us (nor did I even see any vendors on the beach). There were 2 other ships in port with us, and most of the people on the beach were cruise passengers. There were jet skis and other water toys to rent, which we didn't do this time. (Just FYI, there was a fatality this past spring when 2 jet skis collided, which admittedly could happen anywhere, but the jet skis were being driven at very high rates of speed the day we were there). No problem getting a taxi back to town.

Hope this helps, although this will probable be moved to the ports page.

I was just wondering if the chairs are all tied together? I have a vague recollection of going there years ago and not being able to move my chair because they were all tied together.

  11. Hi All -

I'm trying to book this tour for a group of 10 for our Valor cruise on

August 10, 2014. Went to the website and it says "Account suspended."

Anyone know if he is still in business and, if so, the e-mail so I can reserve the tour.

    Thanks in advance!

  12. Just off the Dream on 2/15. The ship itself is nice. Embarkation and debarkation were a breeze. Stateroom attendant was superb. The main dining room needs a lot if work to improve service. Every night there was a huge lineup and wait up get in. The line barely moved. Once we got in the service was extremely slow. Another problem is a lack of activities in the evening. I will not sail Dream again.
