  1. This review is hilarious. I️ can’t read this on the train (NY) and try to give my don’t mess with me or ask me to spare some change look. I’m laughing way too loud. If I️ weren’t the one laughing, I wouldn’t stand or sit next to me. So people are looking at me like “Don’t mess with me” or “Don’t ask me for spare change”

  2. Thank you both for taking the time to respond. I am going on the Anthem of the Seas, so I will be docked in Bermuda on a Saturday. I will check out the museum or I will let everyone know we are headed to the beach.

  3. Hello all,

We booked a cruise that will stop one day in Bermuda. A lot of the information provided seems to be for those that will be docked in Bermuda overnight. I will only be docked for one day.

I will be in Bermuda from 8 am- 4 pm (so boarding time is 3:30 pm) at the end of July. I will be with 5 others (3 are children ages 12,11 and 9), my mom who is quite active and my husband. Can you all give us some ideas on activities that does not include a beach or shopping.

I am grateful for all ideas. We booked this trip relatively last minute so I am trying to research during my free time

  4. Thanks for all the responses. I went online to book with the intent of cancelling or rebooking onboard as needed. However the only times available were 9:30 and later which will definitely not work for us. So it looks like I will have to try my luck when we get onboard.

I wonder if I can change to DD Classic? What is the early seating time for DD Classic?

  5. I will be on the Anthem during the New Year's Eve/New Year's Sailing. I am new to Royal Caribbean and do not understand Dynamic Dining.

Am I required to make reservations for dinner prior to boarding? If I do not make reservations, will I not be allowed in any of the dining rooms?

Also, do I have to make reservations for lunch as well?

    TIA.

  6. Thanks all. My next hurdle is how to afford it. The price looks steep to me and we need 2 cabins. Unfortunately, I'm not willing to pay the $35K it will cost for all of us to be in the same cabin in The Haven.

  7. I am seriously contemplating the 10 day Gem sailing from New York in December. Both Christmas and New Year's will fall during the sailing.

I have read that longer sailings tend to have less kids. Will this sailing have a lot of kids because it is during the time kids have off for the Holidays?

I want to bring my 11,10 and 7 year old but I wouldn't want them to be on a ship without a bunch of kids.

  8. Does anyone have an update on the green slide? I definitely don't book a cruise for waterslides but I do book their ships based on which one has a waterpark. It keeps my 9 year old son busy most of the week. Since we are cruising in 3 weeks on the Pride, this is disappointing :(

I will be on the same sailing as you and I hope this issue is fixed and the slide is functional for the length of our cruise. I have three kids, 10, 9 and 7 looking forward to this slide. It sounds as though it has been out of order for quite some time.

I hope there is some urgency to get this issue fixed.

  9. Each time that I have traveled to the Bahamas in November, it has been at the end of November (the week of Thanksgiving). Nassau has consistently been windy and what I would call chilly (low 70s). I have worn long sleeves and long pants and have been comfortable or long pants and short sleeves and been comfortable. I have worn my sleeveless summer dresses and have been absolutely uncomfortable.

However, the other islands (private and Freeport) have been downright warm. Shorts and bikini warm. But the water is cold.

    I hope this helps.

  10. We will be in Freeport from 7am-1:30 pm in August. We would like to do an excursion that involves swimming with Dolphins. The ship excursion is quite pricey at $154.99/person.

Are there any recommendations for this type of excursion other than what the Cruise Line offers? Do we have enough time to do this excursion comfortably?

    TIA.

  11. The spa is 18 and over and they do enforce the rule. We had two spa rooms on the Breeze in August 2014 and they would not let my 17 year old DSD into the spa. When we went to check in for the first time, our cabin was verified and then they told her she could not use the facilities because she was 17 (her age was listed on some master list the staff was referencing). She was refused a sticker and the cloud 9 bracelet that you have to wear when in the spa.

  12. I agree that Carnival is really doing everything possible to make sure the form is completed. I have called for two price reductions. The first time, the representative walked me through the process on the phone, only to realize that the form could not be accessed via internet explorer, so she had to complete the price drop for me.

The second time I called, I told the representative that I was not near a computer but I wanted the price drop applied and she was really reluctant to apply it. She completed the form for me and said I would hear back soon. Then she said, okay, I'll just apply the price drop now.

Hopefully, I see more price drops. I will stop trying to resist the system and complete the form.

  13. A cabana is so worth it. I have done HMC with and without a cabana and I will always do my best to get a cabana. Just having a home base and being able to eat in your cabana and not in the sand or at the lunch area is great.

My DH was not a believer until I booked one against his protest. If HMC is a stop he immediately asks whether I booked a cabana.

The last time we had a cabana we all took a comfortable power nap in the shade.

You pick your cabana number when you board the ship. If you have your heart set on a particular number, you should board the ship as early as possible because it is on a first come, first serve basis.

  14. I had a Spa cabin on the Breeze and I loved it. I was on Deck 11 and my balcony was covered. On the Breeze, they gave my 17 year old a tough time, even when I was with her, but after her father made an appearance and spoke to the staff she got her sticker and her Cloud 9 bracelet and had no further problems using the facilities.
