Booked for the June 3rd sailing out of Barcelona!!!
-
Sailed last week. Here we go, in a nutshell.
Flew in a day early and stayed at the Sheraton Old San Juan. Very nice place and about a 10 minute cab ride to the cruise port.
Arrived at port at 11:30 and we were on board at 12:30.
We did purchase drink packages. Beer package for husband and one step up for me. I did get him an occasional rum and coke with my package. We were a port intensive cruise - so I'm hoping we broke even.
In our rooms at 2:00 and luggage was there, waiting on us.
Muster at 5:45 - for us in the Imperial Lounge. We were in Room 1230 on Deck 10.
Dinner on the first night is pushed to 6:30 because of Muster.
We ate dinner in MDR every night except for Tuesday - Giovanni's.
We found the Windjammer to be a great breakfast choice. Also - YUMMY nachos for an afternoon snack.
Getting off the ship on port days - piece of cake.
We booked all excursions on our own - not through RCCL. Best two days were St. Lucia (Joe Knows St. Lucia) and Barbados (Calypso Cruises). These were two days and two excursions I'll remember FOREVER!!!
Disembark - very simple. Tip the porter $10 and he'll take your luggage through the customs/immigration line. We passed up all the long lines and we were through in 10 minutes.
We found the ship to be clean, our stateroom spotless, the food was all we could hope for. No complaints from us!!

We cruised last week. Giovanni's was AMAZING, as was the service. Friends tried to make a reservation and it was sold out every night.

It was all different from our last sailing. Our muster was in the Imperial Lounge. No life jacket needed. We sat there, in air conditioned comfort and listened to the instructions. Much nicer than standing in the heat on a crowded deck!! Of course, your muster location depends on your cabin location. We were on Deck 10.

We sailed last week. Muster was at 5:45 and dinner was pushed to 6:30. We sailed at 8:30.

We sailed on the Adventure last week. Our formal nights were Sunday and Thursday.

We are sailing on Saturday. I notice several of my excursions refer to Island Time vs. Ship Time. I'm on Eastern Daylight Time currently, and according to Google - each of the islands are on the same time as me right now. So does the ship function on a different time?

Can you tell me if the AOS has the freestyle coke machines?
-
Thank you so much!! That will be greatly appreciated!

I have a few questions from members of our group. We are sailing on the AOS late next week.
Someone posted that the Windjammer Cafe was open 24 hours a day, and yet I thought they stopped serving at 9:00 p.m. Can someone confirm?
As for bars - do they close and reopen at a specific hour?
And for me: how early in the morning can I get a mimosa or a bloody mary? :)
-
Once again - thank you Bob. I just need a direct line to you. :)
-
Can you tell me if there is shampoo provided in cabins, or should we bring our own? On my last Carnival sailing, had body wash and shampoo dispensers in the shower.
-
Thanks so much Bob. It's been a few years since my last cruise and this is my FIRST on the Adventure of the Seas.
-
May I ask some of you recent travelers your experience with morning room service. Are the items arriving warm? Or should we stick with juice, coffee and pastries? I like to sit on my balcony early in the morning and enjoy sailing into port.
-
And I assume that since some may not have their luggage, the dress code for the MDR on Saturday night is more "lax"?
-
Thank you all very much!!

We sail in two weeks and our ship leaves at 8:30 p.m. Is the Main Dining Room open that first evening?
-
Thank you for responding!!!
-
but deck 6 has the metal bottom on their balcony?
-
We are part of an incentive group that earned this cruise. We didn't get to pick our room. Based on our points - the higher on the ship and the nicer the rooms. :) Does anyone have a photo of a Deck 10 balcony?
-
Thank you so much for your quick reply!!! We sail in two weeks!!!
-
Has anyone had a balcony room on Deck 10? We are in room 1230. Thank you.
-
Thank you very much!

We are sailing on the AOS in 2 weeks, and we have dinner reservations at Giovanni's. Will our drink package be accepted there?
