  1. Just a guess, but maybe cruise lines don't necessarily want to attract seniors.  It could be that seniors don't gamble as much, don't drink as much, don't excursion as much, and generally spend less money on board.  Also, a cruise that is branded as senior, or gets a reputation for being an old folks cruise, scares away the younger crowd, which means fewer cabins sold, less profit, etc.

  2. During covid I got to work from home, no more business travel, so I delayed retirement.  I'm glad I did.  There was really no leisure travel either, so I got to earn more money while staying at home, which I would've been forced to do because of covid anyway.  I'm retiring this July (age 68) because leisure travel seems to be loosening up.

If I had retired at 65, right before covid hit, I would've found myself sitting at home, bored, with far less income.

  3. IMHO you're not missing anything. The tastings are usually facilitated by a cast member (not a product expert). If you're an absolute novice to beer/wine it might be informative, but if you have any experience I think you'll find its not particularly educational. OTOH, if you're bored and looking for something to pass the time (and you don't mind the cost) there are worse things to do.

  4. It should be free (and someday might be) but I recognize that these days cruise lines are looking for more opportunities to sock it to the consumer. Upcharge restaurants, and now upcharge entrees in free restaurants, over-priced water bottles, etc. etc. Disney isn't nearly as bad as other cruise lines, but note that DCL prices are significantly higher to begin with (which is another reason to argue for free internet).

  5. I'm sure they receive just as many positive comments from passengers that enjoy the flexibility. Also, in terms of value, the chance to see a top (high cost) Disney production twice, as opposed to a non-descript comedian or juggler, is a trade-off many people prefer.

  6. Its time for cruise lines to join the 21st century and offer unlimited free internet. Even my local bar does that. C'mon Disney, the 90s are over. Free wifi is a reasonable expectation nowadays. Build in into the cost if the cruise if you have to.

  7. Not a leg to stand on. One is not asked to only declare fruit from other countries. The fruit was not declared. That in and of itself is enough.

Even if the apple had been acquired in the US, as soon as it left the country it became subject to import restrictions.

Just how would the passenger prove the provenance of the fruit?

Easy. It was packaged and sealed in a Delta branded wrapping. She can prove she was on the Delta flight. Delta officials can then confirm they distributed the Apple, and the origin of the Apple. Airlines keep detailed records.

The bigger question is why the word Apple is automatically capitalized when I keyboard it?
