Does anyone know how many are left on board? I imagine a lot of Japanese pax would have taken up the offer of quarantine on land, but we have no news in that regard.

According to the Princess website, so far, only medically vulnerable people who test negative have been offered voluntary disembarkation for landside quarantine. Of that group, only 12 left the ship;  55 (fifty-five) stayed onboard.  Individuals who have tested positive have left the ship; and most USA people took the charter flights for quarantine in CA&TX.

There are still a LOT of  people on the ship.

  2. I haven't been able to find out much about the Explorer's Seven Seas Suites, located forward (701, 702, 801, 802). The only thing I found is about the bathrooms; apparently forward Seven Seas suites have 1 bath and midship Seven Seas suites have 1 & 1/2 bath. Someone eluded to small closets; low ceilings; and wind... but they didn't reference suite # or ship.

Considering the most expensive suites are forward suites, I don't think the complaint about too much wind is a viable point of negativity. But maybe? Especially for a January cruise??

We very much enjoyed our previous cruise on the Explorer; so we booked another!

Our Concierge Suite #752 was great; no complaints! The curtain between the bed and sitting area was nice; but a separate room would be better (and yes, more expensive). But we're considering it. Any information about Seven Seas Suites in the forward part of the ship would be appreciated!

  3. Does the excursion desk provide snorkel gear? Taking Explorer to Gustavia, St Barts, E Caribbean Leeward Sail excursion. RSSC description says: bring your own snorkel gear. Then later in paragraph says: snorkel gear will be provided. Does anyone know if ship lends (rents?) snorkel gear or how it works?

  4. Thanks for the replies! Surprisingly, there are no mega ships in port on 1/3/18 so hopefully no one will need to use the tent (wow, that's crazy!) I didn't realize Oceana & Regent are related; I knew Norwegian Cruise Line is related; makes sense... I have so many questions; dunno why I started with the port! I guess I move along chronologically!

  5. Does anyone have insight about Terminal J at Port Miami? Supposedly Regent Seven Seas Explorer will be at Terminal J; but Oceana Insignia and Oceana Riviera both depart from Port Miami on January 3 also; all 3 ships within an hour of each other. Do passengers for all 3 ships utilize Terminal J... at the same time?

  6. Hi, We've never sailed Regent; we're taking the Explorer out of Miami for an 11 night roundtrip Caribbean in January! I actually have a few questions; but I'll start with dining. I read that "dining reservations open" on a certain date. On our voyage, night 2 & 3 are sea days, and night 10 is a sea day. I do not know what to expect. What restaurants must be reserved (all of them?)

Is La Veranda / Sette Mari 2 names for the same place? What is the difference? Are they rez? Does Compass Rose require reservations?

Pacific Rim; Prime 7; and Chartreuse are the "specialty restaurants"? Are there any experienced cruisers willing to give me their opinion of what I should book when? We are concierge-D if that makes a difference (how many do I book? I don't even know that!) lol

    Thanks! SeaQ
