The A1 aft Concierge cabins are WONDERFUL with limited exception, and one of those exceptions is the “-131” rooms (i.e., we were in 9131).  They are unfortunately located directly across the hall from the crew pantry service area. Try as they might to be talk softly, open and close the door softly, etc., we here quite a bit of activity out there. We would not pick a “-131” cabin again on a future cruise but will definitely look to book another A1 Concierge room because everything else about it is marvelous.

Is this the case on each deck? For example, is the crew pantry area across from 8131 also (like between staterooms 8130 & 8132)? It doesn't show any of these pantry areas on the deck plan!

Since December 2023 I’ve taken 5 Vista cruises and have been in 8130 (concierge veranda), 7077 (French veranda), and 9123 (concierge veranda) and have not noticed the noise being any different than on the other Oceania ships. Occasionally I might hear the TV from an adjacent room or voices, but nothing more than usual. I think a lot depends on your neighbors and how loud they are.

Do you recall if 8130 had an extended veranda? It appears as though it does on the deck plan and, if so, what was the furniture out there different or just additional floor space?

  3. Following! Also considering renting a car for our day in port.

Just thought I'd let you know that I contacted the local Hertz agency in Rostock/Warnemuende, via a Skype phone call, and there were no issues whatsoever! They had the reservation I made on Expedia and verified the price and the fact they would meet me at the cruise passenger terminal, so all is good! Enjoy your trip!

  4. I have reserved a Hertz car, in Warnemunde, online through Expedia. The confirmation indicates the pickup point is "Am Passagierkai, Rostock Warnemunde" and I've called Hertz in the US to confirm they have the reservation in their system and it is, indeed, reserved at the cruise port. (all confirmed)

I have read on various posts that the cars are actually transported in from Rostock, that morning, and renters need to email (or otherwise contact) the local Hertz agency with a copy of the confirmation to assure they know to bring your vehicle to the cruise port.

Has anyone else done this recently? If so, who did you contact? Any problems in obtaining the vehicle?

Thanks in advance for your insights.

  5. Thank you for the suggestion. I thought I had tried that and it didn't seem to allow me to post any additional messages, so I simply assumed once the cruise was completed that particular "roll call' board was closed. I just tried again and it worked!! I am praying for this woman and think of her every single day. I hope she is okay and will be good as new in the not-too-distant future.

  6. On January 16, 2016 while onboard the Celebrity Infinity, a woman took a terrible fall and was injured severely enough she required the Chilean Coast Guard helicopter to remove her from the ship to seek medical attention ashore. I was one of the first people by her side and have been thinking of her ever since. If she happens to check these boards, I would love to know how she is doing. I know you couldn't, possibly, be healed yet; however, I hope you are on the mend.
