  1. Hi all,

We're boarding Seaview on August 25th.

Seriously considering purchasing the Trio deal ahead of getting on-board. Heard good things about it when reading the Seaside reviews and have seen Seaside menus. Would love to see the Ocean Cay Seafood Restaurant, Asian Market and Butcher's Cut Steakhouse menus for Seaview to see exactly what the Trio options are and whether it differs from Seaside at all.

Does anyone have copies of these menus please, or have experienced the Trio on Seaview?

    Thanks

    Jon

  2. Hi all,

We're a family of 4 sailing Seaview in 13 days time :-) We're super excited as you can imagine.

I've been trying to find scans of the Seaview menus but haven't come across them yet. I'm hoping they're out there somewhere.

Specifically I'm looking for the specialty menus, but would also love to see some examples of the MDR menus.

    Thanks

    Jon

  3. Not sure the price will be the same on board? My understanding is there is an online discount for things like the "Trio" (3 Specialty restaurant package).

Also last year when we went on Meraviglia the beer packages (for example) were the same price on board in Euros for what I could have paid in Dollars by buying in advance. You could only buy in Euros once on board, which is much less cost effective than paying in dollars before boarding. This will be the same situation with Seaview sailing in Europe.

  4. I've booked now. We decided to go for Carnival Horizon in the end. I got $150 on-board credit in the end as I'd not read the small print properly. Spend $1000-2000 on the cruise = $150 OBC, then $2000-$3000 spend gets $250 OBC, and so on. I thought I was in the $2000-3000 bracket, but it turns out that they are referring to cost excluding tax and port expenses, which actually meant my total was in the $1000-2000 bracket. Anyway I'm still happy with $150 OBC. That offer is on for a couple more days for people looking at booking.

    Thanks again for the help.

  5. Thanks for the replies, very helpful.

To those asking the cruise fare offered by the agent is the same as what Carnival are offering. The OBC is an agent deal, no OBC from Carnival. It is a decent deal which runs out in 3 days so will probably got with it if they will honor fare drops. It's with pricexxxx dot com. xxxx rhymes with wine.

Now need to decide Horizon or Magic. Sounds like Magic might be the way to go. We do tend to like new ships with the latest gizmos but hard to turn down the extra nights.

  6. If you are dealing with a TA they should be able to answer those questions for you.

I'm in the UK. Generally speaking we don't get as good deals over here, so I tend to book through the US. We use the same agency and we do have a relationship with a particular TA, but it's harder to communicate with her, and she's off anyway at the moment.

I'd normally have thought this is a cruise line thing anyway rather than an individual TA thing. Thanks.

  7. Hi all,

Not cruised Carnival before, but looking at trying them out at the end of October 2019, in the Caribbean

There's a 6 night cruise on Carnival Horizon or an 8 night cruise on Carnival Magic that I'm looking at.

A few newbie questions if you don't mind.

Is booking this far in advance advantageous? There's an offer that I'm looking at at the moment with a TA that would give $250 Onboard credit. Do Carnival refund price drops? I'm tempted to book now but would love to hear advice from those more experienced in booking Carnival than me!

Also any comments on Horizon v Magic welcomed! They're about the same price but the Magic cruise is 2 days longer. Obviously Horizon will be newer but what would you choose?

    Thanks

    Jon

  8. Hi all,

We're on Seaview in August. I've been regularly logging in to see if I can book any of the Specialty restaurants yet, and I still can't. Has anyone managed to book these yet. Does anyone know how much in advance these options came online for Seaside?

We're keen to utlilise the specialty restaurants this time. We did our first MSC cruise last year and enjoyed it very much but found the food average in the Main Dining Room. We said we'd try the "pay" restaurant options a bit this time.

    Cheers

    Jon

  9. Are there any photos of Aurea balcony cabin on deck 9, 9057, 9054, etc.?

    Hi,

I've been looking for the same as well. Here's a YouTube which includes some footage, albeit in the dark.

No Astroturf like the other end of the ship. Bigger balcony but just chairs on it by the look of it.

    Cheers

  10. Hi all,

Following the thread with interest. We're booked on the sister ship Seaview next year, through our US TA.

We're recently off Meraviglia and although it was a beautiful ship with great facilities, we felt the food in the MDR was average. So our aim this time round is to book some of the speciality restaurant options.

When we login to our booking we only have drinks package options at this stage. Has anyone screenshot and posted the speciality restaurant options for Seaside? I've not seen them posted but I could well have missed that...or maybe they're not available yet?

For Meravigilia I seem to remember a trio restaurant option for reasonable price.

    Thanks

  11. Hi Bea,

Just checked cruise mapper at 6:10am UK time so 7:10am in Barcelona, and noticed the ship was already docked in Barcelona.

I'd be really interested to know what time it docked this morning and what is the earliest anyone can get off if you're able to get this information. Many thanks.

  12. JonHeath, I too thought that the ship would be ready to disembark long before 9.00. There was a Thomson ship entering the port in front of us and it looked like we had to wait until it was clear. There was only one exit on the main promenade, we asked about five different mebers of staff if this was the only exit and was it for everyone and they all said it was. Our flight home was at 12.30, once we managed to disembark there was a fairly short queue for taxis and we got to the airport about 10.45. If we hadn't of jumped the queue we probably wouldn't have made it. I'm sure that the problem will be sorted, maybe going back to the old system where passengers wait to be called in designated lounges etc is a better solution. What time is your flight?

Hi Tomlin. Thanks for replying. Our flight is at 10:50...yeah, ooops. Like I said we booked ages ago before timings. I just assumed wrongly that the ship would be in much earlier (5-7am) as they need to disembark. We can move onto a later flight on the same day at a cost. No massive deal, not a lot else we can do really.

  13. Thanks Tomlin this is great info.

Interesting reading about disembarkation. We've got a similar problem with flights home. We booked ages ago before actual timings were released and was hoping the ship would arrive in Barcelona a lot earlier than that and start disembarkation a lot earlier. Looks like we might have to get the red tags and camp at the exit? Whereabouts was the exit on the ship and once off, how long did it take to get off and to the airport?

    Many thanks

    Jon

  14. I am booked for October 2017 on meraviglia but I haven't seen anything about fees or pkgs for the cirque show. Where would I find this info?

Hi. If you login to manage your booking, and then navigate to adding the food / beverage extras its listed as part of those packages. Just keep hitting the "load more" button at the bottom and the cirq packages come towards the end.

It was around $40pp (from memory) for a set 3 course meal, or $15pp for cocktail option.

  15. Hi all,

I'm booked on Meraviglia for the sailing out of Barcelona on July 28th 2017.

I've searched for information on how you would get to see the Cirque du Soleil show.

I can see on my booking that I can add a meal option that includes Cirque du Soleil or a cheaper cocktail option that again includes Cirque du Soleil.

I'm tempted just to book Cirque du Soleil with cocktails for us (2 adults, 2 kids), but are you able just to see the show for free without the cocktails / meal option? I can't really find any information about that.

    Thanks

    Jon
