  1. It sure doesn’t impress me as making up for everything that has been taken away from pinnacles. Doesn’t change anything for us because we never share a room with anyone. They may think they are doing us a big favor but to me it’s just the same bone being thrown to us as they have tried before. Getting fed up with their tactics.

What happens to your on board credits, balcony discount and such  when you apply your pinnacle free cruise to a cruise you already have booked ?   We did this and lost all of our discounts and at final payment we only got 2000.00 off instead of the full 2400.00. Doesn’t seem right. Will we get points for the cruise since we still will be paying 500.00 plus port fees and taxes on top of that.

    will things ever be normal again?

    We finally got price protected on the Harmony today.

  5. In need of transportation between ports ( Port of Miami to Port Everglades) on Super Bowl Sunday because of a canceled cruise. I’m afraid that Uber might not want to pick us up because of all of the business they can get by staying in Miami. Does anybody know of another way to get there. I can’t find a shuttle company that goes between the ports. 

  6. I will post on the Europe board but wanted see if anyone has recently stayed at either of the Hilton’s in Barcelona (not the one part of the Curio collection).

     

    We stayed at the Renaissance a few years back and don’t think we walked more than 15 mins to get to Las Ramblas. Not sure if either Hilton would be close.

    We always stay at the Hilton Diagonal. Not close to Las Ramblas but is close to the Metro. Also they have complementary food and drinks every night if you’re on the executive floor. We love the place.

  7. What exactly is that poor agent on the phone supposed to say given that at the time, the official word from corporate is that the next cruise is still going out as planned? Slam corporate all you want but all the agents were doing was being honest. They had no power to let cruisers cancel or change their reservations, so telling them they either make it to the cruise or risk losing their fare is just being honest, isn't it? The people calling in probably had more up to date information about actual conditions on the ground than some agent in a call center.

    It wasn't a poor agent on the phone. It was text messages sent out by the company telling us the cruise was going. They also wanted us to answer the text so that they would know we received it.

  8. I am in Galveston now because royal kept sending me messages that everything was a go. We came down Friday to beat the rain. After we got here and saw what was happening I couldn't see how they were going to get into a closed port that kept saying Port Closed Until Thursday. Now I am stuck here paying a hotel bill all this time not knowing when we can even get off the island. Called royal. That's a joke. The 25% future cruise credit has to be a newly booked cruise. Won't let us apply it to any of the 12 cruises we have already booked. Can I say GREED. I could vent some more but my problems with royal don't even come close to the pitiful things happening in Houston. The hurricane is supposed to go out over the gulf and come right back in over Galveston and Houston. I have no idea when we will ever get home. Royal said to come, right up to the last minute. They have put me in harms way. I know some will flame me for even coming down in the first place but they have no idea what they are talking about.

If anyone has stayed at the Hilton Southampton can you please tell me how much a cab is from the bus terminal in Southampton to the Hilton and then how much a cab is from the Hilton to the cruise terminal? We are trying to decide if we should use Hilton Points and stay free or book a hotel close to the cruise terminal. Thank you.

We had that cabin on Liberty and we begged, pleaded, talked to everyone except the captain to give us just one lounge chair and all we got was NO and a different reason from each person we talked to. We were very nice when asking so if wasn't because of being rude or anything. It ruined my cruise because I spend so much time on the balcony reading and relaxing, that is what I go on a cruise for. I don't plan on ever sailing the Liberty again unless they change their rules about no lounge chairs for any balconies except jr suites and above.

  11. I was going to buy an excursion today for our up coming cruise but.... it said "Check when you get on board the ship". Does that mean that they probably aren't going to offer the excursion (not enough interest) or the excursion is full for now and they will offer the rest of the space after we board? Does anyone know for sure?
