We're going back in 2019. Loved it this year when we went.
Did you go on SeaDream this year? Any advice you can give us first timers?

We’re booked on a 7 day out of Havana in February and would love to hear about past experiences or chat with others going in 2019. Just booked our flights today on JetBlue out of Fort Lauderdale!

Just booked a Transatlantic for 2019 on the Odyssey - looking forward to 7 days at sea in a row to determine if we are ‘cruisers’ or ‘porters’!

Norway was fabulous!

I agree - we escaped our deck but ended up getting caught in another deck's block party! Not my cup of tea!

Block party - two thumbs down!

You read my mind! Here's a link to an article that says the Adonia, currently in service for P&O Cruises, will sail social-impact cruises for Fathom. The picture of the ship looks a lot like the Seabourn ships -http://www.travelweekly.com/Cruise-Travel/Carnivals-new-Fathom-brand-to-sail-to-Cuba

I have sailed on SeaDream, SilverSea and Seabourn - Seabourn is the clear winner in my book. We did like the small size and personal service of SeaDream, but the itineraries are limited and there are no balconies - plus I imagine the ships must be getting pretty old by now. I did not like SilverSea at all -- the Italian restaurant is good but the service is nothing like Seabourn. The staff seemed more concerned with taking care of the captain and officers than the guests. We started on the Pride with Seabourn, and were a little worried about the size of the big sisters, but now have cruised on both the Sojourn and Quest and loved every minute of it. Food, service, ship layout - we're hooked!

I just returned from that cruise as well - amazing! As far as excursions, don't miss the Venture in Trollfjord, where you can go out on the zodiacs and see the Quest come into the fjord and turn around. And the full day excursion from Olden is worth it as well -- I am not a fan of full days off the ship, but this is well worth it. Eric, you will love Seabourn! We just booked the Extensive Fjord Exploration in Lofoten - looking forward to trying one of the new Seabourn Ventures!

Are you on the June 13th Norway cruise? If so, we will see you on board. We cruised with Silversea once and there was no comparison in our opinion. Will look forward to your reviews!
-
Formal nights are typically the 2nd night and then 2nd to the last night so the captain and crew can welcome everyone on board and then say goodbye.
-
I just looked at the Seabourn Conversations listing for Quest in Norway on June 13, and there are 6 destination experts and expedition leaders listed - Luciano Bernacchi, Dr. Colleen Batey, Karen Weller, Matt Dolan, Peter Crimes and Robin West. Does anyone know any of them and why Seabourn would put so many on one cruise? My experience is one or two experts at the most?!

Just got the SilverSea info in the mail - it's Silver Shore Select excursions and free WiFI on the 2015 Mediterranean cruises.

I am taking this cruise in June and would love to read the insider tips!!

Fantastic video!! Thank you! :D

Here's an idea - instead of going to Alaska, join us on Seabourn for the fjords in Norway in June! We did sail HAL in Alaska about 15 years ago, but it was our first cruise and we didn't know any better. A balcony is a must in Alaska, which ever line you choose!
-
We tried Silverseas on what was really a "free" cruise for us. The food in the Italian restaurant is outstanding. However, you can not compare the level of service between the two lines. I don't want to bash Silverseas, but I would not book another cruise with them. Once you've sailed with Seabourn, you really are spoiled and can't help but be disappointed. Even on a free cruise.

Thanks Penkzilla -- great information!!

Oops I said Bergen, but I meant Olden - so we would be missing Olden to see Geirangerfjord!
-
The tour starts in Bergen, and features a boat ride through Gerangerfjord. I think we will do it. Also, everyone keeps saying the North Cape is so touristy. I know we cruise the North Cape when we leave Honnigsvag -- do you see enough from the ship to satisfy, or do you really need to drive up there on the excursion to truly appreciate it?
-
I am also on this cruise and Seabourn just posted the excursions. Is Geirangerfjord a "must see"? The only way to see it is an 8 hour excursion and I'll have to convince the DH - we prefer half day excursions. Also is Pulpit Rock a "must see"? Thanks!
