  1. I understand as an elite you can send clothes out to be laundered. Since I just became elite, could anyone clarify a couple of things? Is there a limit on how many items you can send to be laundered, and can you send something to be pressed only? Thanks

Good morning from the solarium.  Well kids, we’re not in Cabo anymore.  The temperature on the pool deck is about 59 degrees and windy.  The pool attendants seem to be expecting a busy day in here because chair saving prevention is in full effect.

There are also pool servers providing drink service which is nice.  I remember on our Alaska cruise having to jump out of my nice warm solarium hot tub and brace myself against the glacier breezes to go stand out at the pool bar to get a drink.

Picking up where we left off yesterday, after a great lunch at Sushi on 5 (as you can see, Mini Me is over me taking photos of all her food 😂), Gen Z and I went back to the cabin for some family puzzle time then napped until it was time to dress for chic night dinner.  Gen Z had her usual shrimp cocktail and salmon from the MDR. I went with the Luminae menu and had the kale soup, then both the lobster and scallop entrees.  For dessert we split the baked Alaska.  The portion sizes on the soup and dessert were like double what they were in Luminae on Apex but the lobster and scallops were much smaller.  I couldn’t help but think of those massive delicious scallops I was given on the side of my veal my first night on MSC Divina (sorry, Jeremy had told me I really need to stop with the MSC comparisons).  Anyway, despite the smaller sizes, both were cooked well.

After dinner Gen Z was conflicted between the magician show and going to a pajama party at kids club with her friends.  She decided to go PJ party and see the matinee magician show after lunch today.

Gen Z’s cruise bestie’s parents and I decided to let the girls stay at kids club late while we got some martinis together.  Complimentary kids club hours end at 10pm but if you let the staff know in the morning, they offer extended hours till as late as 1am for an extra charge of $6 an hour.  Total charge for an hour and a half of extra martini time: $9.  I charged more than that when I was babysitting as a teenager.

When we got back to our room, the bad news was on our bed.  Gen Z took it even harder than Jeremy did on Apex.  Sharing the disembark and future cruise offer info for anyone interested:

As I suspected, Gen Z decided that she wants to do Tuscan Grille again for dinner tonight.  Folks who were on Solstice recently and dined there, please feel free to share recommendations!  Since my go to’s were a bit of a dud last time I think I’ll use tonight to try some new things.

Agenda for the rest of the day:

-A little more indoor pool and mimosa time (perhaps while making some dining reservations for my Beyond cruise next month, don’t judge me)

-Shower, dress and hit the atm and guest services for thank you envelope supplies

    -Lunch in Luminae

-Mommy and Me Hot Glass Class

    -Matinee Magician Show

-Packing and Sulking before one last dinner and show at sea.

No matter what age you are, I think we all pout when we see the it’s time to get off the ship paperwork. The only time I don’t pout is if I’m on a BKB.

  3. Loving your review as always. Your daughter is just adorable. My granddaughter is 13 now and would not be caught dead in a matching outfit. At least I have the memories of when she was my Minnie me. I see a bartender with a martini glass on his forehead, it wouldn’t happen to be Putra would it?? Can’t really see the face, but those frames look familiar.

My granddaughter is counting the days till our next cruise 21 to be exact.
enjoy the rest of your cruise.

  4. Your review and pictures were just delightful!!! I really hate to see this come to an end😢

I do have 2 questions, when I heard garlic shrimp my ears perked up, however my question is were they spicy as well? I had some surgery a couple years ago and I can’t eat anything spicy to my dismay not even pepper, so I always have to ask that question was it spicy. Last question what airline are you flying home on with the short ribs?
Charla looking forward to your next adventure.

  5. I can’t comment on any London hotels. I took Uber to Southampton. I have some mobility issues so dragging  2 suitcases to a bus stop was not going to happen. Although it is the cheapest way to go. I prices many of the private transfer companies, in the. 200-300 range . I ended up with Uber which cost 122.00 pounds that included the fare, parking and tip.

Most people like the holiday inn and I would stay there next time. This time I stayed at the

Novotel, I was not impressed, room was so so, breakfast buffet also so so. Here are a couple of pics. I did have a handicapped room, also no air conditioning. Choose this because of an indoor pool, never got to use because they had the door locked and only allowed so many people in at a time. Apparently there was a school holiday and lots of families trying to use the pool.

  6. I really needed this, I’m so down on all the negative things people are saying about Celebrity, even if only a quarter of them are true, still makes me shutter. Between you and Jim it’s the only thing keeping me from giving up on cruising. Love all your pics and commentary.
I gave up on Embassy Suites in Ft Lauderdale a long time ago, between the price and shabby Accommodations there are much nicer hotels in the Fort Lauderdale area one of my favorites is called the Riverside. It’s right on Las Olas with lots of restaurants around they have an older building and a newer building I would always pick the new building to stay in.

I hope the rest of your cruise is fabulous!!!

  7. I am new to Princess and never read anything about the Medallion prior to my cruise on the Sky Princess Trans Atlantic 10/30/22. I picked mine up at the pier in Southampton. I had no issues it always worked for me.I didn’t book shore excursions,  spa treatments etc. on it. Now if I want something to complain about it’s the internet. I’m sure there is a special thread for that. Glad I wasn’t cruising when there were so many issue with the medallion, I feel your pain.

  8. I was on the Sky TA, went with another couple the last two night sorry I missed the first 12. I did have the drink package. Nice looking appetizers live music snd plenty of places to sit. Felt very relaxing to me. Going on the Royal on Dec 12, with no drink package ( I didn’t drink enough to make it financially worthwhile.  Will

pay for my drinks as I go. I saw the drink menu of which there are 1 or 2 drinks I could choke down  for. $6.50 ha ha. I also have the free mini

bar in my room for being elite, as well as the bottle of wine I am allowed to bring onboard. My question is this: do any of the bars offer any type of happy hour pricing on drinks, if so do

you know which bars and what kind of discounts? Thanks

  9. Jim I haven’t seen a live review from you in a while, did I miss it? If not when is your next one?

I did a TA on a Princess ship in Oct-Nov and really liked it. I was surprised. I was looking at the Sky Princess and the Silhouette. What made me pick Princess was I could get a business class ticket SFO-LHR FOR $1120.00 while Celebrity ticket was in the neighborhood of $3000.00.

looking forward to hearing from you.

I got the 200 obc (it says for excursions only) as well.  Really good deal if I find the right excursions!

I still see the $464 deal for an inside.  I did note that when I checked anonymously, it said $602 for a single, but after I logged into my Princess account (I've sailed twice with them) and refreshed the search, it was $464.

Yes I see the same rate $464.00, however I live on the west coast and Ft air is over $800.00 with Princess air and other sites. I cant remember the last time I paid more than $350.00 for  art flight. I put it on hold.

It's on the menu on the app

The $12.00 is for freshly grated wasabi, they still give you the reconstituted stuff for free.

My daughter seemed to,think it was worth it, says it tastes so much better than the normal stuff they give you. They gave her a free sample and then Oct curse she purchased it.

  12. Brought a tear to my eye that this wonderful adventure is over. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this venture. Until next time.
I fly to Heathrow Oct 26, 2 nights in Southampton and board the Sky Princess on the 29th for a 14 night TA ending in Ft Lauderdale, spending one more night at the Riverside Hotel before taking  JetBlue back to SFO. Will be interesting to compare Celebrity to Princess. I haven’t been on Princess in at least 25 years.

I'm looking forward to it.   When they say Royal Caribbean Group I'm hoping it includes Celebrity.

I'm with you, can't wait, current internet is slow at best. In the above announcement says "will be installed on all Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises ships, along with all new vessels for each of the brands "
