  1. Poss,

Good evening. My wife and I did a 21-day cruise on the Navigator (our favorite Regent ship - we are in the minority, I know) through the Canal in September, 2011. We loved the stops in southern Mexico and in Guatamala and Columbia on that itinerary. I think picking the "right" excursion is the key to any port. Even if the Canal transit is not on your bucket list, it is a fascinating way to spend a day.

  2. NJBelle,

Good evening from the States. You may not remember me but we met on the Mariner in 2009 in Alaska. My daughter Emma and Katherine are Facebook friends still today. Emma and I celebrated her high school graduation on the Voyager for two weeks in June in the Baltics. I hope you have a wonderful cruise. We will be following your posts (and Travelcat's) closely.

If my information is correct, Ray Solaire should have rejoined the Voyager as CD for this cruise. Ray is the among the best at sea, so do enjoy. If JR is still onboard, don't miss his singing - it is a treat!

  3. pingpong,

My daughter and I just returned from the previous Baltic cruise. We left Saturday as you boarded in Stockholm. We agree completely with your assessment of Russia and St. Petersburg. It was the one disappointment of the entire cruise. If you see Ferdinand in Compass Rose, please tell him Emma and Tim say hello. Also, the singers Eric and Stephanie are excellent - try to catch all their shows.

  4. Although we have sailed on Navigator and Mariner, we are taking our first Voyager cruise beginning June 2. TA just called with really attractive upgrade offer to a Penthouse B on the 6th floor (several choices). The PHB on the 6th floor are near the rear of the ship. I need advice from those of you who have sailed the Voyager if these PHB cabins are too close to the rear to avoid the often discussed vibration. Thoughts please. Thanks

  5. I do not often post here but I want to respond to LoonCall's last post. I will not quibble with her assessment of the vibration issue; tolerance for that quirk of the Navigator (and the Voyager) is very personal. My DW and I spent 3 weeks on the Navigator in 2011 on a full cruise, which had 5 full sea days at the start (scheduling problems with first port due to weather). At no time in those 3 weeks did we find the public spaces of this great little ship to be overcrowded or inadequate. Just my opinion....
