That’s disappointing, we always went back to the cabin after the turndown service and picked our copy up so that we could muse over the following days offerings,☹️

Hi RR hope all is well with you and yours.😉

All good here BJ, just getting older that's all 😁

    Hi

Has anyone any info if/when  Discovery 2  will or has had its balcony cabins refurbished yet.  we had a deluxe balcony on Discovery  in March with a lovely glass door shower  and hope its the same on D2 at Christmas and not the shower curtain.

At the end of this month, it's going into dry dock for 6 days before heading off to the far east.

  4. Navigate App, for some things it's brilliant, but don't rely on the money side. it's all over the place. Plus / Minus. it's a job to keep track of everything. plus, it was my card, and they put everything on my wife's..I thought I was doing well the 1st week with Zero on mine until Gail said it's all on hers..*****

  5. On another Media platform I was doing a daily blog. This was my final piece in the jig saw. Some people will love the ship, some won't. Its life eh!! After 2 weeks it was okish, but after 56 cruise it might just be me.

    Our 2nd week yes really
Me and Her, affectionately known as G&T. Gail and Terry
My Views and probably not shared by the many or even anybody who cares 😇
    Are you sitting comfortably 😁
    Then I shall begin.
This Ship won't be everybody's cup of tea. But some will like it, others not. You have read my scribblings from the past 2 weeks. I tried to put it down in words several times, but each time it ended the same way. To save any disappointment, try it out. Negatives are no Atrium, to me the Atrium on the Discoveries do it for me every time, plusses new bars and the same happy crew. Nice shiny boat on the outside but a bit tatty around some of the pool areas and cabins. All the work done was kitchens and bars and a paint job.
Food a bit n miss. But we're all different, what some people like others don't. You won't please everyone..
Shows are OK if you like them. Famous Names for our 1st week.
    Musicians on board all brilliant.
Thank you for reading and thank you to those that I've chatted to these last 2 weeks it's been a real pleasure.
    Love
Gail & Terry aka G&T xxx

  7. Last October, a Friend of Ours went to reception on the 1st day and enquired about an upgrade to a balcony from an inside cabin Deck 4 and within 30 mins had an answer to deck 8 Balcony for £100 Bargain considering she was single and had an inside Cabin.

So I tried and Reception would let me know in 30 mins.... Got a message to go to reception..yes I thought her we go..bargain upgrade? Wrong..I was quoted £400 to upgrade from outside cabin to Balcony. I wasn't that interested. our friend still laughs about it to this day. As I joked, she only got it because she had Boobs 😇 😁

I am not sure about the Marella cruises from the US or Caribbean cruises, but based on our experience with Marella/Tui (pre-Covid European) cruises ,as they cater primarily to the British, you notice a difference in food offerings  and entertainment. For us (Canadians) Trivia was harder and sometimes entertainment could  be a miss (e.g. a comedy act might assume better knowledge of UK and British politics). The ships are smaller and older than most of the American, not as flashy ...

This is CruiseCritics description - and I would agree with it (although our cruise were always on the adult only ships).

    About Marella Cruises

Marella attracts a broad cross-section of the British working class along with people of all ages. Marella's fleet of five ships offers an onboard experience that sits somewhere between traditional and ultra-casual.

Sorry, I have to disagree."working class" aren't we all working class. Define working class 🙄
